Although it is very tight for space, and if roominess is crucial to you, of if you have a longer stay, it might not be ideal. But we stayed two nights as a couple, arrived at Kings Cross and after a day in London depart from St Prancras the next morning, the cramped quarters were not an issue. After a week traveling Britain and sleeping on saggy beds, this room had a bed that supported my back, so I woke up refreshed. The bathroom and shower were clean and entirely functional. The establishment is both clean and respectable. The locking system feels secure. There was a fan in the room and the window could be cracked open enough to have some ventilation. The neighbourhood - once you are away from the hustle and bustle only a few blocks away - is not only quiet and safe, but feels like a real neighbourhood, with local pubs and cafes with bustling sidewalk terraces. I feel like I lucked out on the location for the price! Highly recommended if you just need a comfortable place to rest, visit the city, and have extremely close access to train transport. Tube stations, obviously, are just around the corner. There was also a kettle and real coffee cups and real glasses for wine or water.

If you are super rich, I suppose you stay somewhere with more space.

We had a nice and clean room. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. It is a great location close to public transportation. The last day we could put our luguage in a locker.

We discovered no negative points

The location is excellent, just 3 minutes from St Pancras Station and the underground which was perfect for us as we needed to get to Stansted airport very early in the morning and were worried about walking too far in the dark. The room was fine and we were pleased to have 3 beds ( a double and a bunk bed) as we didn't want to sleep in the same bed and it is not easy to find a room with 3 separate beds. The reception staff and cleaning staff were friendly. We would definitely return.

It is a bit loud as there are building works going on outside but that's not the hotels fault.

Great location a block or two away from St Pancras and Kings Cross train stations. Reception was gleaming clean and smelled so fresh! The room was very clean too with lovely upgraded pillows and nice linens. For being in the heart of the city, it was very quiet! Check-in and check-out were simple and easy. The man at Reception was kind and helpful. Lots of beds available in the Family Suite.

The room was very hot when we arrived. Even though it was mid-February we had to open the window for the room to be cool enough to sleep.

Perfect location, clean small hotel. The receptionists were kind and very friendly and the check in/check outs took a minute. Although all rooms were booked during our stay, it was quiet enough for perfect rest and the shared services were at our disposal all the time. The room was warm and cozy with electric kettle with everything needed for tea/coffee self service (we enjoyed a lazy breakfast in the room) + sink and enough sockets plus a good quality free Inet. It is a blast for its price, recommending!

Location is fantastic - 5 mins walk from KingsX / St Pancras station / 10 mins from Euston. The room was basic but clean with a small washing basin in the corner. The shared shower and toilet on the same floor were close by and spotless. I took a couple of work video calls over the free wifi, and it worked perfectly. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

It's not a dislike, but appreciate it is a basic hotel with similarly basic facilities.

I can very easy see now why everyone desires to come back to stay at this hotel, and why it's so difficult to book a room here. It's 'outstanding' on 'every level'. I've visited London easily well over 100 times, and this hotel is the Winner. Outstanding, friendly Customer Service, which I haven't witnessed at this level anywhere else. I was very impressed!! The Manager of this hotel, who I spoke to several times, should perhaps run a training course, to inform & educate other hotels what Customer Service is 'really' about. Going the extra mile for customers. Even acknowledging their customers by their name. Nothing's a problem. It's all Good Vibes. This is why this hotel is in the great position that they're in, and attracting their customers to come back & stay, again & again, rather than trying to chase them away, like other hotels give the impression that they're doing. I will certainly 'always' be trying to book my room here, whenever I visit London. I visit London at least 4 times every year.. It's a no brainer.

The MacDonald offers great value for money in a very convenient location. It's fairly basic, but at these prices it would be churlish to grumble!

There was a lot of building work being carried out in the area, which was noisy and woke me earlier than I'd have liked. That's not the fault of the hotel though, so I haven't reduced the score.

Was really great, nice and cosy and worth its price. Cleaned every day. Fresh towels every day. Very happy with the service

It was too hot in the room but not able to open the window. Looked like it was broken and not safe to open. Also, can do with a small fridge and a toaster in the room. That would have been very handy. But overall great service, good location, underground just a few minutes away 👍

The location is great and is right around the corner from St Pancras

It's an old building and there's no elevator. So be prepared to lug your belongings 3 floors of tight uneven stairs. The toilets need more regular cleaning but the room itself was basic, outdated but for the night was fine.
