The room we were allocated was gorgeous, very clean, beautiful decor. Loved the panoramic windows, the bath in the room, the hidden double shower behind the bed was a nice touch.

There was only a cold option for breakfast in bed, we would have definitely paid the extra had a hot breakfast been an option.

Beautiful historical building with understated and tasteful decor. Very comfortable large bed. Incredible free standing bath, incredible shower. Excellent food and service, dog friendly.

Right next to busy main road with single glazed windows made for a noisy room. I luckily had ear plugs so not an issue for me. Open plan bath and shower in the room looks nice, but all the windows and mirrors in the room became very steamed up, and none of the windows open, so not very easy to clear.

Good position just 20 minutes walk into town. Reception staff very friendly and helpful and make you feel like you are important and that your comfort is very important. Gary on reception was especially sweet. He was welcoming and helpful. The lobby is divine with a beautiful real fire and lovely easy chairs and soft lighting. The bartender made me a beautiful pina colada and I don’t normally drink so it was lovely to have something different. I had the Crystal suite which is stunning. Beautiful free standing baths up in the galley. Comfortable bed. The suite is so tastefully designed. I actually think that it is the best hotel that I have ever stayed in. Breakfast very good. Cooked and continental. Dinner has good menu with thoughtfully designed menu

Nothing.

Really great location for The Cluney and for a walk around Ouseburn Valley! Our room was very cosy and comfortable. The food looked great, however, at this time we did not partake!

The price they want for breakfast is really quite extortionate!!! £24 each, get into the real world please! We had a way better breakfast choice not that far away, it only cost £11.20 each! Also charging for parking, again quite extortionate, £15! We did pay for that, grudgingly though. Where do these establishments get their prices from? You need to get real as said before.

A beautiful hotel with lovely historical features and perfect location for exploring the Ouseburn. The bed was really comfy. We also loved the bath and shower and additional toiletries. The staff were very accommodating when I asked about an upgrade. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay, however the room was a little tricky to find as the door was hidden by another door. We were met by a member of staff who made us feel a little silly when we took a wrong turn. Perhaps clearer signage may help. Had no idea the tea and coffee was under the tv, perhaps move this to table. Only a small thing.

Reception were very understanding, when we explained that we would prefer a room change away from the noise of traffic. Thank you to Yazzine for accommodating our request. The suite we got moved to was exceptional, much cosier and tastefully furnished, and in a more modern wing of the hotel with lovely views of River Tyne. Breakfast ranged from continental options, to cooked breakfast made to order. The entrance to the hotel was decorated nicely for the time of year, with log burner and Christmas tree, with a pleasant scent of mulled wine from the bar.

We had booked a junior suite, however were unhappy with the noise level of traffic from all angles of 3 external walls, accentuated by the 5 massive windows in the room. The room was potentially too exposed for our liking. Perhaps a more appealing package deal including dinner. The restaurant appeared very quiet the evening we arrived, which is a shame, and we chose instead to eat elsewhere on the Quayside.

Gentleman on reception who checked is in was extremely friendly and made conversation. The hotel really made an effort with the fact it was my wife's birthday. Bubbly and choc in the room and we got a free cocktail voucher each. The location was great. A nice walk along the river into the centre. My wife who is always cold appreciated how cosy the room was.

Although we appreciate the room had very very high ceilings and therefore very difficult to clean, there were some very obvious big cobwebs. Had we paid the full amount at breakfast we would have felt the continental options were limited.

Gary, service manager and Suzie, deputy manager are an asset to the hotel.

The staff member who checked us in for our stay, was miserable. She almost made me think I’d done something wrong. No information about the hotel or our stay was provided. I understand people have off days, but maybe she should’ve recognised this and requested not to work front of house. I started to think I’d chosen the wrong hotel for my partners birthday surprise. I felt a little let down by the room, although lovely it was starting to look a little worn in places. If we came back I’d request a different room.

Everyone was really friendly and the room was great, really spacious and well decorated. The following day we were not leaving until later in the afternoon and wanted to spend breakfast and lunch around Ousburen and the guy at the front desk looked after our bags for us until the afternoon. Will almost certainly stay here again, because everyone was so friendly. They had called the day before arrival to explain that the restaurant would be closed, that was a shame because we would have probably tried it in the evening but the lady on the phone was really friendly and polite about it all.

The only negative was that in the evening I had asked at the front desk for some oat milk and this offering was clearly labelled on the fridge , the girl had said they would bring it up but it never arrived, not the end of the world but would have been nice to be able to have a coffee before pulling ourselves together the next morning.

Amazing hotel the room was gorgeous with a massive bed and walk in shower! Excellent in room facilities, free bottled water etc we were also surprised with a bottle of champagne and chocolates for our wedding anniversary

It’s slightly less central to Newcastle than other hotels. Also we were woken by the shower dripping heavily first thing in the morning. This appeared to be due to another guest using their shower and setting ours off?! Very strange and a plumber is possibly required
