The room we were allocated was gorgeous, very clean, beautiful decor. Loved the panoramic windows, the bath in the room, the hidden double shower behind the bed was a nice touch.

There was only a cold option for breakfast in bed, we would have definitely paid the extra had a hot breakfast been an option.

Beautiful historical building with understated and tasteful decor. Very comfortable large bed. Incredible free standing bath, incredible shower. Excellent food and service, dog friendly.

Right next to busy main road with single glazed windows made for a noisy room. I luckily had ear plugs so not an issue for me. Open plan bath and shower in the room looks nice, but all the windows and mirrors in the room became very steamed up, and none of the windows open, so not very easy to clear.

Beautiful converted old building, formerly the Tyne Tees Shipping Company building, situated just off the river, not far from Newcastle quayside and only a 3-stop bus ride (or short taxi ride) from Grey St, in Newcastle town centre. The bedroom was lovely: spacious and well-equipped, with a large bathroom, and a fabulous deep roll top bath with lion’s claw feet beside the window. Everything in the room worked and the air-conditioner was quick, effective and quiet. There was a good iron, a mini fridge, and a plentiful supply of coffees including decafs for the nespresso machine - also Taylor’s of Harrogate coffee bags for the kettle, and lots of milk portions. There were plentiful supplies of L’Occitane en Provence toiletries and lotions in the bathroom, and it was very peaceful and quiet at night. The hotel has a very comfortable lounge and bar near reception, with a cosy fireplace and multiple seating areas on comfy chairs and sofas. A special occasion dinner at the bistro restaurant was really excellent, and the breakfasts also looked superb. Service in the restaurant was very good, with beautiful table linen too.

Nothing. However, for any who can’t climb stairs, it should be noted that because this is an old building there are no lifts to the upstairs bedrooms on 1st and 2nd floors. Staff were helpful with luggage though

Our second stay at the HDVin in Newcastle. The location is good, very easy to get to shops and restaurants, lovely view of the Tyne. The staff are so friendly and helpful, there is parking adjacent to the hotel. The room was an absolute treat, triple aspect, huge walk in shower with a zinc base. Freestanding roll top bath, two sinks with plenty of space for toiletries. The bed was exceedingly comfortable, a chaise longue at the base. Breakfast in a HDVin is always superb, the public areas are beautifully presented and very comfortable. Without doubt the best hotel brand in the UK, staff are exceptional.

Very accommodating staff, room was made ready early for us, staff asked if we were happy and gave opportunity to engage with them. Upgraded room for very reasonable amount. Plenty of comfort, room with bath, balcony, plenty of refreshments, fridge, etc. Location is beautiful, and fairly private. Very spacious room, felt relaxed and left wanting to stay longer.

Breakfast was a little on the steep side regarding prices, and the hot English Breakfast was not offered with beans or hash browns. Parking was also on the steep side considering we were staying at the hotel. But considering our experience, we felt so welcomed, and were accommodated for that on the whole it was worth the experience.

A unique oasis of lovely french cuisine, wine and hospitality,, near but not quite on the banks of the Tyne, within an architecturally unique Hotel environ, and even more unique suites (well worth the upgrade!) We upgraded to junior suite "Crystal", with its unique mezzanine bathroom with shower and his and hers baths! Very relaxing!! Huge well appointed room. Restaurant has always been uniquely set out, and breakfast with sunshine streaming through was special. Menu a little limited but never regretted our choices. Always been cooked, prepared and served to a high standard. Breakfast was prepared efficiently but very well, and the OpenTable extras were of high quality, compared to many a hotel. Friendly, professional attentive staff in restaurant, and reception.

So we stayed here for 1 night on the Friday. Could not believe how much better it was than what we expected the pictures on the Website do this hotel no justice! So I'm going to attach all mine so people can see how much better it is ! It's really chic and high end. We came in and got greeted by well dressed staff, & a beautiful entrance. Made our way up the elevator that had beautiful dark padding and had almost like a great gatsby vibe. The room was massive I had a beautiful view with complimentary water bottle, ferros, tea coffee hot chocolate and a espresso pod machine, soap bar, shampoo condioner, body wash ,bubble bath oil the list goes on. On the bed they left me a beautiful card and it had 2 free cocktail vouchers for the bar downstairs. Which I've attached pictures off. The room was quiet and really clean and decorated alot better than any pictures we had seen. The staff are honestly the most friendly& helpful that I've ever experienced made us feel so welcome! The hotel was near everything close to the water just 5 minute walk to the bars on the water. We decided to uber and it only cost 5 quid which is really good value if you can't bare to walk it. Good position just 20 minutes walk into town. Reception staff very friendly and helpful and make you feel like you are important and that your comfort is very important. Gary on reception was especially sweet. He was welcoming and helpful. The lobby is divine with a beautiful real fire and lovely easy chairs and soft lighting. The bartender made me a beautiful pina colada and I don’t normally drink so it was lovely to have something different. I had the Crystal suite which is stunning. Beautiful free standing baths up in the galley. Comfortable bed. The suite is so tastefully designed. I actually think that it is the best hotel that I have ever stayed in. Breakfast very good. Cooked and continental. Dinner has good menu with thoughtfully designed menu

We stayed in the premium suite, which was exceptional. The room was very spacious and luxurious, with 2 roll top baths and twin showers. The breakfast was again very nice with great vegetarian options. But the highlight was the staff ,Simon on reception was very helpful and courteous.

We have now stayed at several rooms in the hotel and although the rooms are beautiful you cannot book the specific junior suites, its not a major issue but they are very different and if we wanted to book a specific room again we cannot via booking

Really great location for The Cluney and for a walk around Ouseburn Valley! Our room was very cosy and comfortable. The food looked great, however, at this time we did not partake!

The price they want for breakfast is really quite extortionate!!! £24 each, get into the real world please! We had a way better breakfast choice not that far away, it only cost £11.20 each! Also charging for parking, again quite extortionate, £15! We did pay for that, grudgingly though. Where do these establishments get their prices from? You need to get real as said before.
