Really enjoyed our stay here. It's quite basic but had everything we needed. A decent hairdryer was provided in the bedroom and an iron and ironing board, not that we needed it. The hand soap and shampoo were really nice and the shower was good, nice and modern. The room was comfortable, we were out sight seeing most of the day but after sleeping, my back had no usual aches which I often get from other hotels. The staff were very helpfull and friendly too, especially the breakfast staff!

If I had to be really picky and had to say something, it would be that there weren't biscuits on the coffee tray in the bedroom and I'd have liked slightly more choices for breakfast, eg, mushrooms with the cooked breakfast and cold meats with the continental breakfast. Like I said this is being picky. It was good value for money and I will definitely stay with this chain of hotels again. It's a bit more expensive than the low budget ones but worth paying the bit extra.

Staff are all so helpful and on hand 24/7. Breakfast had plenty of choice, no matter how you prefer breakfast. Location is great , short walk and you are at the baltic and the millennium bridge

If the hotel is going to have an agreement that people can stay here as their temporary accommodation. I do think something has to be monitored or done about the use of alcohol and drugs. It is not the staff's fault but when you are going out somewhere important to you and already nervous you should not also have to worry about if you smell of cannibis when you leave. I have stayed here several times and this has not been a problem once.

Nicely located hotel, short walk to quayside. Friendly staff on arrival, with very secure parking. Rooms are spacious, nice sized bathroom. Bed very comfortable, room and hotel spaces very clean.

Parking gates are slow, always waiting for a long duration to access car park, £10 per night parking could be cheaper in my opinion for guests. Vending machines are old and broken, lost money without product. Rooms are too dark, more lighting needed. TV is too small for room, makes it difficult to watch anything as bed is far away. Wheels on bed doesn't work well with wooden floor, found the bed wheeling away when trying to get on haha.

Large carpark where we left the car and walked into the city. Convenient location for exploring the city and walking to the arena where we saw Bryan Adams. Breakfast was really nice. The staff were helpful.

We ate one night in the hotel for speed and convenience- the food was substandard, the chips inedible and generally the meals were dried up. We pointed this out and a halfhearted apology was offered. We thought they were a little understaffed as there were times we couldn’t find anyone on reception nor the bar area. We noticed other guests having the same issue.

I recently stayed at this delightful hotel and had an excellent experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure I felt welcome. The rooms were spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and offered a cozy atmosphere. One of the highlights of my stay was the lovely walk alongside the river just steps from the hotel—it was both peaceful and picturesque. Additionally, the location is perfect, as it’s only a short stroll to the Millennium Bridge, making it ideal for exploring the area. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and great service!

Our stay at the Gateshead Ramada Encore was exceptional value for money. The rooms were a great size, well-equipped and the staff were incredibly helpful ensuring our dietary requirements were met at breakfast - big shout out to Susan/ Sharon working in the breakfast area on 1st March. The hotel was clean, bright and spacious throughout and all staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful too. A great place to stay moments from some vibrant areas of Newcastle and Gateshead.

Our only gripes might be the location which wasn't the most glamorous (next to a building site as a new music venue is due to built next door) - but this was made up for by proximity to the Newcastle Quayside which is beautiful and has plenty of options for food and drink. The other small problem was the fact that the twin beds making up the "double" made the bed extremely large which felt too big for a completely comfortable night's sleep with your partner, but I guess that's a matter of preference.

Everything

Checking in procedure When booking a room, guests must be advised or reminded to produce a driving licence or a Passport as items of identification when checking in....I had neither... wasn't aware that this was mandatory. I needed special assistance by photo copying my council bus pass which in effect, was most annoying thinking I wasn't going to be accepted as a guest, which meant finding alternative accommodation after taking all day travelling to arrive Very annoying miscalculating aspect of information necessary that needs attention by Booking.com

The hotel is bang in the middle of a very busy city centre with lots of traffic and noise surrounding it, especially in the morning traffic hour. The hotel itself is pleasant, comfortable with sufficient parking. The staff are very kind and friendly always willing to assist and help which is an added bonus. The rooms are large, roomy with all that one needs. The rooms are sound proof so if you have the window closed you hear nothing from outside and a good night's sleep is 100 per cent guaranteed. The manager, Richard, was very accommodating and very friendly ensuring my stay was good and went out of his way to make me feel valued as a guest. Kudos to him and his staff, especially Zak who is superbly tall and just very pleasant and helpful.

The electric vehicle charging is a real bonus and one of the main reasons I stay. The staff are exceptional, especially the ladies who look after you so well at breakfast. Its nice to have a small gym to use after work. The bar area was pleasant and was showing the football. Nice large comfy bed and a good shower in the bathroom.

A small point I know but there was only a light switch and electric socket at one side of the bed. They could do to be at both.

Very clean establishment with incredibly friendly staff. Within walking distance from the city centre too where you get to go over the famous curved bridge… large rooms with lovely, clean bathrooms. I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again: the staff were very friendly, can’t compliment them enough!

This can’t be helped but there were a few times we were woken up in the night to drunk groups in the hallway. Just bare in mind that the walls are a little thin so bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper :)
