Excellent location at affordable rate within a very expensive city. Very friendly and compassionate front desk who would go out of their way to make the guest feel more at home.

Too many homeless people roaming around the place rampantly, with some of them trespassing regularly into the private areas of the hotel much to the dismay of the front desk, who can only rely on an overtasked local police that always show up late. The whole place could also be much cleaner.

The exterior of this hotel looks dated and shabby, so we were pleasantly surprised by the comfort and amenities of our updated room. There is a (slow) elevator we used to get to our third-floor room -- very welcome! Office staff was friendly and helpful, although we did have some communication challenges with one individual whose English seemed a bit shaky. There is a courtyard parking area and we were able to get a space ($10/night), but it looks like a first-come, first-served operation so I'm not sure you are guaranteed a space. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel or just up the block, depending on which way you are traveling. We found that very handy. The rail station to catch a train to Airport is about two blocks away, which is partly why I chose this hotel.

Be aware that this section of Market Street is a center for unhoused individuals. We had no problems whatsoever, no one even asked for money, but not everyone might be comfortable with this kind of up-close encounter with urban homelessness. Other than that, location was within walking distance of a number of coffee shops and restaurants, and a short bus ride takes you to SF Museum of Modern Art, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and several other museums as well as many more restaurants.

The stairs are secured by room key, so only guests are allowed around the actual rooms. View of scenic buildings, control of ac, and friendly staff! There’s a nice cafe and convenient store close by. Most of all a low price!

TVs could be better, but it is what it is. Lot of homeless and tweakers hang around outside, never had trouble with them + what are you gonna do? It’s San Francisco. Don’t expect a high end fancy inn for a nice low price.

too small fridge; cracking ceiling - due to poor wooden construction, one heard every little noise when a person living above you walked through a room. Noises from the street and a visible number of homeless people living/staying around the hotel which made a very sad impression on the surrounding.

Clean and secure and the latter needed to be. San Francisco. The area of 10th Street is suppose to be avoided. However as we knew this walked through these areas and other areas without problems. Though we are on motorcycle dressing down wasn't too much of a problem. Felt even safer walking back around 22:00hrs, when thousand of homeless were waiting for block accommodation.

Absolutely wonderful price in a great central location for San Fran! Really appreciated how kind and attentive the staff are, the room had a good amount of space to it and was always so clean! Also right next door to the best Ethiopian food in the city! I will be staying here again next year for GDC for sure. Also comes with a small fridge and microwave!

You're paying for a slightly budget hotel here, so it's not surprising that the beds are on the stiff side. My biggest complain is the AC unit; it must have been a dehumidifier as well, because every morning when we woke up we were dying of thirst with terribly dry noses and mouths. By the 4th night of our stay, my lips had cracked terribly and bled in two places (I never have to use chapstick, this was just our environment here). That being said, I'd rather have it dry than moldy! Also keep in mind that this city isn't very safe at night. Keep that in mind when leaving/returning to your hotel room. We were nearly cornered by the elevator one evening. Not the hotel's fault, but something to remember if you're vulnerable and staying alone!

I lived the value for it with the price. I think it was worth it for one night. It was comfortable and we felt safe sleeping there. It provided enough and more than others.

Not much. The toilet seat was just a bit outdated, but it was still clean regardless. We also needed a toilet brush and it wasn't there.

Great price, clean, next to BART station and the city centre.

A lot of homeless people in the area, not the fault of this hotel, but feels uncomfortable. The lift is very old and slow.

its comfortable, really clean, the room is nice, it doesn't seem that nice from the outside, but is actually really nice, I'm going to stay there next time, for sure and they have parking... you have to pay extra, but still cheaper than other parking or the street
