I recently stayed at the hostel and had a situation where one of the guests in my shared room (named Ridgway) was smoking illegal substances inside the room, which made other guests uncomfortable. We reported the issue to the front desk, and although a room change wasn’t immediately available, the staff acted promptly by warning the individual and reminding him of the house rules. Unfortunately, the same guest repeated the behavior the next night. This time, other guests and I decided to record evidence to help the management take proper action. We shared the video with the front desk manager, Nick, who responded immediately. He personally went to the room, confirmed the violation, and respectfully asked the guest to leave the property for failing to follow the rules and disturbing others. Concerned for the guest’s condition, Nick even contacted medical assistance to ensure he received proper care. After the situation was resolved, Nick thoroughly cleaned the room himself and assured us that such incidents would be handled more firmly in the future. He also personally apologized for the inconvenience and handled everything calmly, respectfully, and professionally. This experience showed me that the management here genuinely cares about the comfort and safety of their guests. Thank you to Nick and the staff for handling a difficult situation so responsibly.

You Will have a hard time ginding betyer value for your money if you you want a cheap deal in the center of SF

It’s a budget hostel so everything lived up to my expectations. One thing though: when leaving your bags before or after your stay, it’s in a common room so even though there is camera surveillance a locked room would be preferred. And the SOMA is close to Tenderloin area and there were a few addicts on the street, but they minded their own business so really not an issue.

Visited San Francisco for a work trip and this place was the most affordable & accommodating. I drove to the city, and as expected parking in the area was expensive. Best solution to parking is SPOT HERO website that shows you more secure & affordable parking in the area to reserve during your stay

Would like to suggest a Bigger fridge :)

1.The fact people can cook their ❤priority meal Excellent!!! ( only issue some people leave dirty dishes of night before in sink. They should leave clean area after their meal since its a sharing kitchen) 2. Free Wifi . That you can use free network thats a plus. Your stay can never be bored. That's for sure

1. BEDs. Since they are frm steel, need to be TIGHTEN up more.. They make noise when one turn, getting in, or off bed. At times you could even hear next room bed. 2. Though NOT necessary, but Wish there would be vending machine with FAIR PRICE in convenience of a quick drink, snack or water.

I liked the low price, which I expected at a hostel, and this was even lower than I expected. The kitchen and adjoining TV room was O.K., with comfortable couch and a couple of padded chairs.

The upper bunk bed was so low that making the lower bunk was awkward. The TV remote control was gone and I was told it didn't work. When I arrived I was told that I should not have booked a room since San Francisco County law specifies that California residents are not to be lodged in hostels. The manager made an exception for me since we knew of no way I could get a refund from booking.com for what I pre-paid.

It was easily seen from the street. When locating the hotel. I love this windows and roof access. The people working there we’re so kind, flexible, and so helpful. Showers were nice! Great lighting. So many walks of life we’re staying here and it was so much fun getting to meet and talk to everyone.

I mean you get what you pay for. Bed was a little uncomfy, the fridge in the room did not work. Our floor had a busted sink with gross water in it. But honestly not to many complaints.
