Everything

No one came to clean up! Couches where dirty with dog hairs , shower drain would clog up fast, no extra toilet paper or extra clean towels

The property was nice, very relaxed electric atmosphere with bar and restaurant down stairs but we did not avail of them. The room was a private quad, it suited our needs for our short trip to Chicago. Room was a small space but I’m sure that’s normal for a hostel, just not a lot of room to put suitcases away. Bathroom and beds were clean, although I did find socks at the end of my bed that were not mine… it was a bit concerning. We asked for towels to our room a reception one morning, and when the staff member arrived with our towels they walked straight into our room using the key card. They did not knock. We were in our pyjamas getting prepared for the day. The hostel staff member briefly apologised and handed us our towels. But who doesn’t knock on door? As three girls travelling this made us feel a bit uncomfortable. Besides that, felt like a safe hostel with security during night hours.

the hotel room itself was different then i expected with it being set up like a loft. it was a bit of a shock to be sharing the room with people I wasn't expecting to but it wasn't a problem for any of us. But offering combo locks to secure the lockers would be a nice piece of mind comfort that was offered. I knew my room didn't have a meal plan but i still expected a mini fridge but it just meant I had to get creative with food and i couldn't store anything that needed to be kept under room temp or long term.

The bed was comfy, the room was dark and cozy, the shower was always hot with good pressure, the sheets and towels felt really clean. It was super central in the city and easy to get around! Also, the staff was super nice, the bar and cafe are really great quality and nice to have nearby. We stayed in a king room, I wouldn't do smaller with 2 people and luggage. We would come back next time!

It is an old building and a hostel style stay. It's not going to be like a hotel. A little more lax, small rooms, and one of the elevators broke during our stay. All that being said...we would stay here again!

I loved the vibes of the hotel, it’s super cool and dark. I loved the energy of the place and the older design. The room was the perfect size for two people, the bed was so comfortable as well. I also appreciated the fitness room, it was nice to get a little work out in. I plan to stay here whenever we come back to the city!

The parking situation was a bit confusing, we encountered an issue when trying to leave but now we know how it works and won’t have that issue again. I just wish it was better explained by the staff upon check in.

It’s was the cheapest I could find and it was a good value for that. The room is clean at first, beds are confortable enough even if it is bunk beds. Bathroom works fine even if some water flow in the ground when showering. I could access the room earlier and it was well appreciated. Nice facilities (washing machines)

Cleaning the bathroom everyday would be better. When you are with 4 strangers and one is not very clean, it would be appreciated if the toilets were cleaned everyday. The staff wasn’t very joyful but nice enough.!

I LOVE freehand Chicago, when you walk in the vibes are relaxing, cool and stylized with lowlights, cherry wood and jewel tones. It smells like incense or cologne throughout the whole building ❤️ nice clean place, easy to navigate and the people were so personable. We had a problem with our toilet and they had someone come to fix it in no time.

The only thing I didn't love about this place was that our shower would not get past warm and was often more on the cold side of lukewarm.

Gives more of a party vibe atmosphere in the hotel and the bathroom is clean and big,bed is comfortable ,the location is in the heart of Chicago downtown and the hotel is offering a reasonable price opposite to Ballys casino and it has a bar and restaurant which is open till 1AM for late night shenanigans ,security is good and providing a locker for us, didn’t use the online checkin checkout feature but it is a good option provided by the management, took 50$ damage deposit during checkin and refunded during the time of checkout

Rooms are occupied more with bunk beds less space to walk ,irony is they have a very comfortable bathroom and the room is a bit congested

Comfortable beds, nice bathroom for the 4 bed dorm.

The man at reception with short hair and a scar on the right of his upper lip was extremely rude and sarcastic. When asked simple questions each one was met with a rude & sarcastic response both to me and the guest in front of me. Two other guests also expressed the same experience with him. Please have him put a little more effort into treating guests like people.

The staff were top top tier! I had an issue with one of the guests in my room (found him sleeping in my bed), and when I raised it to the guy at reception he immediately moved me to a private queen room! He went absolutely above and beyond!! Despite the shared room not being that clean, the private room was spotless and included all the amenities including shampoo and conditioner!! I was in the room by the fire escape, so it was a little noisy with the generators right next to it, but nothing unbearable, and it never kept me awake. I did have to keep my curtains closed as the room did back onto a car park but having had the room as an upgrade, I was definitely not complaining! The little bar downstairs was also really cool, and had a great vibe! Perfect for a drink after a busy day!! Overall, the hotel exceeded all my expectations! It’s super central as well which is a bonus!

The shared rooms weren’t very clean! The blind was also broken in the one I was in so it was a bit dark and dingy!
