Stellar staff; southern hospitality at its finest; perfect location for my reason for coming to the city of New Orleans--a wedding. The room was super comfortable, the bed was heavenly. I spent the day exploring Magazine street and was able to gather local Christmas gifts for my family & me to take back home. Weather was exceptional; all in all a great experience at the St. James.

One issue was on second day a no hot water challenge, but management very graciously took care of my needs for a hot shower before the wedding event, and water was back on the day of my departure. Communication of all options was super considerate on their part.

It's location is just a short walk to Canal St but not in the middle of all the noise. Friendly staff. The room was cute and had all was needed. The buildings are older so the hotel had some nice charm.

The shower had an odd layout. We mentioned it to the staff but not sure if they knew to fix it or if we just didn't quite understand what was happening there. We were able to use it but got water everywhere each time.

Breakfast was good. The staff (Mr. Thomas and Chase) were very nice to us. Chase was super charming during our check in and solved all our questions with good restaurant recommendations. Mr Thomas was very friendsly and super helpful with tips and getting our stuff.

Cleanliness could be better. The water bottle was never refilled and we had to go to the bar multiple times to get it refilled ourselves. It would be better to get that done every time they clean the room. The hair conditioner only lasted for 1 day and was never refilled as well. This should be checked daily.

Bed was fantastic, very comfortable. Quiet location but close to the French Quarter. Control of air conditioning great able to heat or cool quickly. There was a refrigerator in the room.

Room was a little dated and dark as quite a small window obscured by palms and we were very close to the ice machine which was very noisy.

the paid breakfast was not diverse or sufficient - one sandwich, little vegetables on weekends they served breakfast on disposable plates, with plastic cuttlery. This should not be a case in a hotel of this category where you pay more than 300 USD per night. It was substandard and bad for environment. the stuff was so so

The staff was very diligent in taking care of us and our needs. The bar staff was so pleasant to deal with and the bartenders were excellent.

You need bellmen at all times. I miss the morning croissants and coffee delivered every morning to our rooms.

The room was immaculate. Plenty room. Lovely shower and wash lotions. Loved the lovely large patio. It was walled which helped give some shadow from the heat

The staff was attentive and welcoming. Helpful with recommendations. The room was nice. It had comfortable bed and pillows. Easy to use chargers in the lamps.

There were some interesting and uncomfortable quirks to the room. First, the bathroom door did not close all the way. Second, there was a tiny hole in the ceiling of the shower (looked like from water damage). Third, the sink was small and the makeup mirror's lighting was bad. Lastly, there was no peep hold cover. This is mostly a safety concern since the shower is directly the main area of view if someone was looking into the peep hole which wouldn't be as much of a concern IF the bathroom door closed. Still, you don't want anyone looking into your room unknowingly.

Location was perfect between Ceasars and the French quarter, staff was great.

Room was a little lackluster. Water pressure was weak, fridge didn't work in the room, issues with the coffee maker.

Excellent staff and location. The hotel was like a little hidden gem in downtown and short walking distance from the French Quarter. Plenty of Southern regional restaurant options within the same block.

Parking is always an issue when it's not free or readily available. But there are parking lots sprinkled nearby and one immediately across the street from the hotel. Valet is also an option, but I prefer to park my own vehicle.
