This beautiful heritage hotel is in a central position 5 minutes walk from Union Station and within view of Capitol Hill.Tour and regular buses left from in front of the staion which was very convenient. There were several restaurants nearby and the Dubliner restaurant attached to the hotel was very lively and with good food.I had a superior room which was on the corner of the building facing the Postal Museum. It was quiet considering it was on the main road, apart from Saturday night when there were a lot of sirens. The coffee station on the 2nd floor was self service with a varirty of hot drinks. It also had a water station and microwave there. The laundry roomon the 4th floor had a big washer and dryer with washing tablets provided. The reception staff were very helpful with tips on where to eat or visit.
The coffee station was quite small and didnt have much seating but i did use it every day

The best part about this hotel I guess is its central location, walking distance from Union Train Station and the US Capitol building. All of DC's main attractions including the many cool museums are walking distance from the hotel. I arrived at Union Station late in the evening and in less than 5 mins of walking I was already checking in at the hotel. Union station itself has lots of dining options so if you need food you can easily walk here from the hotel. The hotel offers free hot drinks on the second floor, there's gym at the basement, and there's a classic style restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner a la carte. The staff were all nice and accommodating. The room itself was very spacious and the bathroom provided free toiletries that you can use. Both wifi and satellite TV worked perfectly during my stay.
The 100 usd security deposit payable only through card. The bottled water in the room should be complimentary at no extra cost too, in my opinion.

- The location is excellent. Around the corner from the Union Station Metro, which has its own entrance. We used the Metro all the time to get around. It's also in walking distance to the US Capitol. You can see it down the street. - The 24/7 coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar on the second floor was a treat. - The Dubliner Restaurant on the ground floor helped in a pinch for dinner. The live entertainment (folk singer) was way too loud. Not much in the way of dinner eateries in area. (The best menu item was the Chicken Pot Pie.) The hotel also offers free beer or wine at the Dubliner for your first night. -Staff was friendly and helpful and called for a cab on our departure. -There is also a Corner Bakery franchise a couple of doors down, which we only discovered a few days into our trip. -Room was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and nice. -A good number of USB outlets to charge various phones and electronics. -You pay a $32 or so daily facility fee, but the "free" laundry room on the third floor helped us out!
- They offer free ear plugs, and it's not because of the traffic. Rather for the occasional sirens on emergency response vehicles. I wore the ear plugs and it was fine. - Our window view was straight into an adjacent office. Our window was basically looking into either the office building or other rooms in the hotel. Very close distance so we kept the shades closed all the time.

The hotel was located right by Union Station. It was easy for us to park in long term parking at the Greenbelt Metro Stations, ride the Metro in and avoid DC traffic and parking fees. Front desk personnel were friendly and helpful throughtout. The room was very clean though small. King sized bed was very comfortable and the pillows were good though not great. A/C worked well. Shower had godd hot water and water pressure. Toiletries were very good. Small fridge let us keep drinks cold. Gourmet coffee bar was nice.
We were on a floor that did not have an ice maker so had to travel to get ice. I had problems with printing in the business center.

Really nice hotel. Particularly comfy bed. Nice and quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice Irish pub right on the premisis. I appreciate it not being one of the generic hotel chains. All in all, highly recommended. One thing I particularly liked was the upstairs atrium with comfy chairs plus some writing desks, and access to nice coffee.
Despite receiving a confirmation from the hotel, they had lost my booking on arrival. The check-in person was very helpful however and booked me in again, matching the price, so no harm done. I was lucky they were not full! The manager contacted me afterwards: apparently this is an isolated incident. I found the water temperature in the shower to be slightly cool, but in fairness to the hotel I did not mention this to them at the time.

I like this hotel because of very good location which is close to railway station and Capitolium. Nice, quite room, comfortable beds, warm blankets. Free coffee or tea at coffee area all the day. We were checked in early in the morning upon arrival without waiting till official check in time. Also used luggage storage service before late departure. Staff was very welcoming and attentive.
I made the reservation 3 months before arrival, the room booking conditions stated that the full payment would be charged immediately and that suited me. However, before arrival I received a message that other fees had been charged in addition, which I was not aware of in advance.

good location, close to the train station comfortable bed, great shower
I don't like paying a "facility fee," though this is now standard in the hotel industry; there's really no reason it should be. I didn't use any of the facilities except for the coffee machine. But are a few cups of coffee worth a $32 daily fee? I don't think so. Another thing that's an industry standard is that hotel rooms and rates are set up for two people, not one person. As a solo traveler, I resent having to pay double. In Europe, a solo traveler pays for a single room and is charged a lower rate. Traveling in the U.S. is not cost-effective for a single person.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and kind, going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. As a lovely gesture for our anniversary, they even gifted us a bottle of wine, which was a thoughtful touch. The building itself is both historic and beautiful, offering a charming atmosphere. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and cozy, making it the perfect retreat. The value for money was outstanding, and we felt it was an excellent choice. A standout feature was the unlimited coffee and chocolate bar, which was especially appreciated during our winter visit. Additionally, the hotel offers laundry service at no charge, which was a wonderful bonus. The location is also ideal – right in front of the train station, with easy access to bus and metro services. This made it incredibly convenient for traveling and served as a great point of reference during our stay.
To be honest... nothing. It was perfect.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cozy and comfortable hotel! We want to highlight the cleanliness, as well as the politeness and professionalism of the staff. The hotel is in an excellent location, within walking distance of the main attractions. Additionally, there is a nearby train station, which made it convenient for us to travel to our next destination. We felt comfortable and safe both inside the hotel and in the surrounding area, which seemed clean and secure. We also appreciated the complimentary coffee included in our stay, which we enjoyed every morning. A special 10 out of 10 goes to the exceptionally large and incredibly comfortable bed!
As for minor points that didn’t affect our overall experience, we would note the rather small bathroom and the view from the window, which faced the wall of a neighboring building. Additionally, there was a strong smell of food from the restaurant in the elevator and lobby area on the first floor.

The hotel is excellent situated, just a short walk from the Capitol and next to Union Station. Room was spacious, mattress and pillows comfies. Personnel reasonably polite. Shops around and an attached restaurant present. Nice neighborhood. Easily accessible by public transportation (subway station inside the Union Station). Wi-fi working well. Bath convenient.
Need a little improvement on cleaning. I personally dislike carpets that are more difficult to clean, look tired or filthy and attract microorganisms that can cause allergy or other diseases. I think it would be more cost efficient and better for the hotel to remove those carpets.
