This is an excellently located spot in Hanoi's old quarter. tucked on a little side street the rooms are lavishly designed and have everything that you could need. For being so central, when the air con is on, it isn't that noisy. The staff are helpful and amenable. I didn't have the breakfast but it looked great too and the wifi worked very well, which was appreciated. Surrounded by shops, cafes, restaurants and walking distance to the lake it is a great location.

Though the room is noted as having a balcony, this was in fact an inclosed space separate to the main room by a glass door. It is undercover and has a window so it's not really a balcony.

Everything was great! The room, the staff, the breakfast and especially the cheerful chef:) the location was convenient, close to everything. I am not sure how other rooms are but the rooftop was very cool! I liked the phone in the room so much, it was old-fashioned and really matched the design of the place.

The matress was really bad. Please, change it 🙏 it was the only but very annoying thing we didn't like about the place. So squishy, nearly to impossible to get a good night of sleep, you just fall into it. Especially, if there are 2 people sleeping right next to each other...

We are two senior ladies in our seventies travelling without our husbands. Peter and his lovely wife could not have been more helpful. Peter helped us tremendously with planning our stay in Hanoi, Sapa, and Halong Bay, and made all the arrangements for us. The breakfast was amazing. So much to choose from. Hot western breakfast to order, as well as a huge buffet selection. The accommodation was great. Very comfortable beds - loved the rooftop apartment - typhoon Matmo hit whilst we were there, and we so enjoyed our view from three different aspects, watching the lightning and rain and locals dealing with the difficult weather. We are so pleased we chose to stay at Hanoi Royal Hotel. Thanks Peter and all the team. We both wish you all the very best. Marilyn and Kerry.

I recently stayed at Hanoi Hotel Royal for 3 days and had an absolutely amazing experience. The hotel’s location is perfect, making it easy to explore the city. The interiors are stylish and give a very warm and welcoming vibe. A special mention to the staff – they were super friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. They even helped us with an early check-in, which was a big plus. The breakfast was really good with plenty of options to start the day right. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi.

The list of what we loved about this hotel is very long! Sparkling Clean. Room was exactly like the pictures. All staff especially the Manager (Peter) were very attentive. There was a great deal of care taken to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was brilliant and there was lots of it! It included a buffet of fruits as well as menu options. The location was the best. Minutes to the lake, puppet theater etc. convenience store nearby for water. Mountains of eateries outside. We were in room 501. It was amazingly quiet considering the chaos outside. The hotel is down a laneway and off the main road and that definitely helps with keeping the room quiet. Room 501 was on the top floor and at the back. It has a cute little balcony. Peter organised an airport transfer for us. It was so nice to have someone there to collect us after a very long flight. He also booked us a limousine (minibus type vehicle) to Haiphong.

Our stay included a Friday & Saturday night. There was a bit of Karaoke on Friday. It ended around 9pm. Plugs in the room need updating. By no means a reason not to stay. We would absolutely come back.

Great hotel, the best location! Walking distance to everything within Hanoi Old Quarter, rooms are as pictured a little older, but for the price you pay and its location, it's excellent! Great breakfast! Small buffet, and you can order Westen meals off the menu as well as the best Pho, all included in your stay. Cool bars, restraunts, and shops all within walking distance. Rooms were clean and have AC and fans, small hotel, like most in the area, Great spot for quick transfers to Halong Bay or anywhere you need to go. The manager is excellent, very helpful with organizing transfers etc, we stayed a night then went on a Halong Bay cruise for 2 nights, were able to leave our larger bags and pick them up when we returned to Hanoi and stayed another night.

Overall, very happy with our stay. We booked 3 rooms, all were great.

My recent, albeit short, stay at Hanoi Hotel Royal was truly delightful, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it. From the moment I arrived, I felt a genuine sense of warmth and hospitality that set the tone for a fantastic experience. The hotel's interior is wonderfully cozy, creating a very inviting atmosphere. What truly made my stay exceptional was the outstanding service, particularly from Mr. Peter. He was incredibly helpful in guiding me on the location and was remarkably prompt in responding to all my messages and inquiries. This level of attentiveness truly made a difference. It's clear that the staff at Hanoi Hotel Royal genuinely take care of their customers. Beyond the friendly service, the breakfast was delicious, offering a great start to each day, and my room was impeccably clean and pretty. For anyone looking for a hotel in Hanoi that offers friendly service, comfortable surroundings, and a commitment to customer satisfaction, Hanoi Hotel Royal is an excellent choice.

Air conditioning could be colder, but a cooler was provided, so it wasn't a showstopper. It will be better if they can add a mirror in the room. Highly recommend for the friendly service and warm welcome!

The location is very good — it's right in the centre of the old market. Taxis don't come right to the doorstep, but it takes less than a minute to walk. The staff are nice and we were checked in quickly. The room was ready early, which was nice after the flight. I would also like to mention the delicious and plentiful breakfast, which is included in the price. You can choose European or Asian breakfast options, which are freshly cooked. There is also a buffet with a wide selection of food, including fruit and sweets. I would also like to mention the good brewed coffee. You can pay in the hotel with cash or card, with a small commission. I would like to mention that the room was rather large, spacious and very comfortable. Regarding noise, there was some, but that's to be expected in Vietnam.

From the nuances - not exactly perfect cleanliness. When you just come from the airport, it is somehow visible...that there is hair on the floor, on the ‘decor’ cushions too, there is like a mini closed balcony, probably for those who smoke, there were nails...I apologise to the hotel for writing so openly, but it really catches the eye. But it should be said not for a long time-after a walk in the city, to which is very dirty, you come back and a little bit on it already look but another😅 more tolerant that is)))) although maybe it is only in our arrival so was, and at other times perfect cleanliness.

Great location. Very central and easy walking distance to Train St, Beer St, Sword Lake and other tourist attractions. Although the location is very central it’s tucked away in a side alley so although you can’t entirely escape the noise and hustle of the city it was mitigated by the locally. Peter in reception was fantastic as were all the staff. Our room was lovely and clean with the largest bed I’ve ever seen! Good breakfast too. My only complaint is that the WiFi was a little temperamental and had the reset by Peter several times, although I understand that may be a general issue in the city/country rather than specific to the hotel. Overall though I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again.

The WiFi was a little temperamental.
