Loved the proximity to almost everything: Train Street, Hoa Kiem Lake, Giang Coffee, Beer Corner etc. Loved that eventhough we are close to Train Street, we could only hear the train as if it were distant. Phuoc and the rest of team were exceptional.

The water pressure in the bathroom: it took us awhile to feel like we showered. We heard children yelling at different times of the day but we never saw one? Breakfast: it was nice that it was free but it was not really to my liking. The tea and coffee were in thermos yet both were already room temperature and we were downstairs at 7 AM. Please make sure to add the Hotel's phone# in WhatsApp and communicate with them, especially when staying out late. You will need to be let in: doors get locked at a certain time in at night. It is a good thing: safety always comes first.

All the staff especially Ms. Thao are very kind and accommodating. All of them are very helpful. My cousin got sick and she even bring fruits and thermometer for her. The breakfast selection are also good and yummy. The staff in the dining hall are also kind. Our room 301 is big, spacious and clean. Just right for a family of 4. There was a power shortage on our last day. Even though we already checked out at 12 and just waiting to go to the airport, Ms Thao still takes care of us. Offered cold drinks, watermelon and chestnuts. Carry our luggages from our room to the lobby and also to the van that will take us to the airport. Their kindness and hospitality are worthy of high ratings and good feedback. Highly recommended!! We might book them again on our next visit.

Good location opposite Train Street and close to many attractions. Friendly and helpful staff. Large and comfortable room with plenty of space for 3 of us (Netflix was a bonus!). Balcony overlooking the street was also a plus, great to watch the trains from. Fresh bottled water in the room every day. Breakfast was a small buffet but had everything we wanted, as well as eggs cooked to order. Great for a short stay, and good value.

Nothing really! There is no hotel bar but we ordered drinks on Grab which was fine. You need to let them know if you want the room cleaning (we forgot to put the sign on the door one day and our room wasn't cleaned).

The service was very good; they communicated about check-in and check-out and were able to accomodate us. The Breakfast was delicious and plentiful (you could order one thing from the menu, but there was a buffet of fruit, coffee/tea, some savory foods, toast, pastry, and cereal). Wifi was excellent. Location of the hotel was very good. the room size and the balcony were great. TV had english programming. Shower temperature was perfect and stayed warm for a while.

The doors and windows in the room need to be fixed, so they actually shut properly. The hotel is across train street and the train come at 4 and 5:30 am and you can clearly hear it because the windows and doors do not shut. The floors in the room were damaged due to flooding from the balcony and there were gaps in the floors that attracted dust and crumbs. Room was comfortable but dated.

We booked a room with balcony of view of train at the train street. It was the best view. I don't think anywhere had a better view. After seeing the train pass close by, we sat on the balcony, enjoying dinner and watching the trains pass at train street for the next few hours. Mattress excellent.

The bathroom was not the same as in the picture, but although a bit run down, for the price , you can't expect perfect. Complimentary basket of goodies shown in picture. Nothing supplied, but that's ok for price.. 2 bottles of water would be nice though.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel and highly recommend it! As two Italian girls traveling alone, we felt incredibly safe and comfortable. The hotel's location is not only convenient but also in a very secure area. Our standard double room was spotless and exceptionally quiet, ensuring a great night's sleep. The staff at the reception were outstanding always helpful, kind, friendly, and extremely polite. They went above and beyond to assist us, helping us organize a trip to Ha Long Bay and giving us great recommendations for local food. The hotel offers several convenient services, such as a nearby parking area (just 10 meters away) and affordable laundry service. The Wi-Fi worked well, and the 24-hour reception was a great plus. Breakfast was a delightful experience, with a small buffet and an extra warm dish of choice, including eggs, pancakes, noodle soup, and other delicious local specialties. We were truly happy with our stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi!

3rd stay in Spoon hotel, we came back after short detour from Hanoi to visit Central Vietnam (Hoi An and Da Nang), back to Hanoi for new year's eve. Small gestures from hotel staff to provide each room with a small pack of VN snack (they also did this during our 2nd stay with Christmas). We did laundry which was great (returned on same day in the evening if received before 10/11 AM), we did day trip tours to HaLong Bay and Ninh Binh arranged by the kind hotel staff. We saw the fireworks on top Train streets from one of our family group room with balcony! Again, another perfect stay in Old quarter Hanoi thanks to great staff from Spoon Hotel !

Nothing really other than what had been mentioned earlier about the small water coming out from shower. No complaints whatsoever during our additional 2 nights stay in Spoon hotel, Hanoi.

4th stay in Spoon hotel, this alone testify how much i like to stay in this hotel for my visit to Hanoi. In addition of many positive sides i have mentioned earlier, another plus are its close location to a the jewelry store/gold shop street, just 2 blocks 5 mins walking distance, where you could experience the "only in Vietnam" thing where we could exchange foreign currency to VND in gold shop :D. Ask around for best rates, hotel staff recommended me to shop 25-29, these are 2 or 3 different gold shops who offer sometime same or slightly different rates.

Due to its close location to train streets, in the evening there were 2-3 times train or locomotive passing. If you are a light sleeper, ask for the room in the back of building and/or high floor, highest at level 8 (less train noise coming though), if you are not a light sleeper, can ask for with balcony or in the front of building to see the train streets from your room (either directly from balcony or through a glass window from your room).

2nd time to stay in Spoon Hotel, Hanoi after first time back in June 2024. What i like most is exceptional service from the staff who organized pick from airport (VND 400,000 for 2 pax) and then transfer to airport the next day (VND 300,000 for 2 pax), breakfast selection was good with additional 1 menu to choose out of 8 mix of asian and western cuisine (i always ordered the Pho). Special highlights to all staff: Ms, Thao, Mr. Phuc, Ms. Trang and 2 staff in kitchen/breakfast whom i did not have the chance to get their name.

One minor thing to improve is the shower: the water coming out is not focused but spread all around so can not avoid to get the bathroom from getting wet after shower. Perhaps it's time to replace the shower head.

Brilliant location in the old quarter, directly next to train street (so you can hear the trains, but didn't bother us). Staff were amazing, could not do enough to help, always cheerful and smiley, and so lovely with our two little girls.

Nothing much, decor etc is a little dated and tired but everything was clean and functional. Beds quite hard but that seems to be the norm from the other hotels we've stayed in Vietnam. Only got 5 mins of hot water in the shower.
