The inside of the hotel has been upgraded and is in great condition. The location is excellent!

The pool area was very busy and people reserve chairs and then leave their towel when they aren’t in use. It would be nice if the hotel didn’t permit this to allow all the patrons access to the pool.

I absolutely adored my stay. I was very nervous as it was my first time staying on my own for a day as my son wasn't coming in until late that night. All the staff were amazing 👏 but I cannot praise Andre enough. He went above and beyond to make me feel safe and secure and this is so important for any women. He is a huge asset to the hotel..I certainly will be telling my friends and colleagues about my fantastic experience at the hotel..It was my first time travelling to Portugal but certainly not my last. I look forward to many stays at The Don Jose Beach Hotel. ⛱️ I also met some fabulous people from Canada, England, Scotland and Ireland. They all had the same positive and happy experience..

I would have loved a softer pillow

I great location straight onto the beach over a pedestrianised road and close to many restaurants in Quarteita. We were there for a week in a room with a sea view (recommend this option). Room was modern and comfortable. The hotel was excellent for it's three star rating - certainly punched above its weight. Breakfast was excellent. Every member of staff from the chambermaids to the receptionists was friendly and helpful, really enjoyed our stay.

One small niggle was that they allow smoking on the balconies - which made our balcony and sometimes our room smell of tobacco smoke or worse! Secondly why don't they roll the cost of beach towels into the room rate - so much easier than paying 2 Euros a day per towel

The property was recently renovated and whilst it is a small hotel the lobby bar and restaurants are all decorated beautifully and kept very clean and had a very chilled atmosphere. The breakfast was nice plenty of choice and cooked fresh daily. Our room was great so spacious for three women to share and could fit four people easily we had a partial sea view. The room was cleaned daily had a great coffee machine and had a fridge. Very comfortable beds and great air con I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and a take away breakfast on check out was a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and very well trained and professional just overall the hotel is very well managed. It’s right on the beach the loungers are an extra €18 for three people. Villamoura is like 5 mins in a taxi but I liked how quiet and relaxed Quarteira is.

Nothing really maybe offer omelettes and fresh orange juice. This is not the hotels issue but the area in parts is a bit run down compared to Vilamoura and has less bars and restaurants but it seemed to be on the up with a lot of new apartments being built and a revamp of the promenade etc with a nice park/playground near by.

Breakfast was good, would have preferred a queen bed (more availability). closer to other restaurants and shopping. The one comment we had was the the decor and the cleanliness of the property!! From the moment we arrived Antonio greeted us with a very warm welcome smile as well as being available throughout our stay with helpful information. We were also very impressed with the excellent service we received from Andre and Nelio throughout our entire stay. The very positive staff attitude adds to the charm of the property!! We would recommend this property to all of our fiends and family.

Super hotel in best location possible in this stretch along prom , went end of February now April 2nd and I’m already back but for a longer stay , I am very fussy /not easy to please (my wife says this not me ) but this is right up there with best I’ve stayed in over 25 years of coming to algarve a couple of times a year . Sea view room I would say is definitely worth paying the extra for though because of its location ie a stones through from beach (see pictures attached )

Too much good food (went home nearly a stone heavier in a week )

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The facilities were spotless, the atmosphere was relaxing, and everything was beautifully maintained. A special mention goes to the staff – every single person we encountered was friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. They truly made our stay memorable. The breakfast was delicious and varied, the rooms were comfortable and quiet, and the location was ideal for both rest and exploration.

The only downside we noticed was that, despite clear signage requesting guests not to reserve sunbeds around the pool, many continued to do so by leaving towels early in the morning and not returning for hours. This made it difficult at times to find a free lounger, even when the pool area wasn’t busy. It’s a pity, as the hotel clearly tries to discourage this practice. Overall, we loved our experience and would gladly return. Thank you to the amazing staff for such a lovely stay!

As it was a special occasion management upgraded our room for free and went above and beyond to make it special. It was a birthday and they had several affordable birthday packages. The manager who welcomed us was lovely and attentive. The hotel itself is quite modern and in a great location to base yourself for exploring the Algarve. Right by the beach with some cute sea view restaurants nearby. Breakfast was varied and consistently good quality. Some more vegan options would have been good for my husband but other than that food was always fresh and service was good. Dinner was excellent each time! Different mains every night. Again the mains could have been more vegan friendly but as a meat eater this was fine for me. Service especially from the manager at reception and Andre in the restaurant was amazing. The bar and lounge area definitely gave the hotel a more luxury feel than would have been expected for such a reasonable price.

Gym was shut all week and I had booked this hotel with the goal of keeping up with workouts. I do feel this should have been made clear either during booking or at least prior to my arrival. Spa facilities were also not available and this wasn’t made clear to me. These are the only negatives but does not take away from how great the stay was.

Location is great, rooms are very clean and comfortable, nicely updated furnishings. Restaurants are good with great views and live guitar music. Breakfast was a nice too. Staff is friendly and helpful.

The showers/grout was not updated like the rest of the bathroom and room, minor mold. Street parking only, be prepared to spend a lot of time hunting for a spot on busy beach days. The “city” view is of neighboring apartment building, pay for the ocean view and balcony if you can. Minor but for the price worth mentioning - The hair dryers are awful awfuland should be upgraded.

Very good location on beachfront & boardwalk. Tasteful refurbishment of hotel rooms, lounge & restaurant enhances beachy vacation ambiance. Private pool. Central location with many local bars, mini markets & restaurants nearby all within easy walking distance. Fabulous breakfast and dinner buffet available to purchase. Snacks also available in lounge and patio bar. Excellent musical entertainment in lounge on Tuesday & Saturday nights. Excellent friendly and helpful staff with a special acknowledgement for Nelio and his extra care in looking after us in the lounge & patio areas.

Parking is a little challenging but is possible by driving around in the local area when not available at hotel.
