Incredible views from a place high on a hill away from anyone else, except from the hosts in the main house. Well and truly an escape from the outside world. Friendly reception from host Jacquie, as well as the two house dogs Elsa (Labradoodle) and Shadow (Kelpie-Lab) who were so happy to meet someone new. Clean, cosy and simple accommodation, comfortable with all the basics provided. Adjoining a great timber deck around a beautiful pool (wish it was summer!) with views out over the lake and the valley below. Clear view of the stars as no light pollution from any place nearby - even with the subzero cold I loved going outside and just looking up in the middle of the night! I enjoyed the drive up around the lake on the unsealed road - added to the remote feel - however important to look out for the potholes (though coming up from Sydney I was well practiced). The place was easy to find using Google Maps - just put it into your phone before you lose coverage in the valleys. The bed was very comfortable with good electric blankets. The kitchen had all the basics with a continental breakfast in the fridge, and a bottle or two of local wines as an optional add on. The rooms were very clean and in good condition.

Having to leave after a only few nights... would have loved to have stayed a few more! But, if I had to be critical to help improve the experience: - WiFi would be a nice addition, however I found I had acceptable internet access through my phone on the Telstra Wholesale network (WWorths Mobile - so any similar MVNO's should be the same if on Telstra). Had no problems calling the outside world (is this good or bad?).

The place is quite isolated and off the beaten track. I liked the quiet and the solitude. Come looking for peace and quiet not restaurants and coffee bars!

I wasn't aware that this was accommodation next to the owners residence. There was no intrusion so it wasn't a problem for me (and perhaps I missed it in in the booking.com text) but I think some visitors might like to be aware.

Comfortable bed. Amazing views. Host is very friendly. Neatly spaced guest house with kitchenette bathroom and nice sized bedroom. Didn't try the pool as it wasn't exactly swimming weather when I went but it looked great.

The road and driveway into the property is not in a great condition, heaps of potholes. If it is wet the final hill up could be a challenge for non 4*4 vehicles. This is literally the only thing I can fault them on.

the view is simply breathtaking / so quiet and peaceful and at night you can see the entire milky way and stars for miles! amazing!!!

the road in is very in even and lots of pot holes- due to heavy rain and land slides. 4WD - would be able to drive better

Location very peaceful and lovely outlook. Friendly and helpful directions, including the tip to bring dinner as there is nowhere nearby to get a meal, especially since I needed to arrive in the dark. Nice continental breakfast provided and wine available for purchase.

Very private with an amazing view and peace and quiet. There are two very friendly dogs who greet you. We had a lovely time just relaxing.

It is a good 20 minutes drive from town 10 minutes of which is on a dirt road . All this is explained in the booking so no surprise but just be prepared with provisions or to drive the distance.

Location is amazing. Accom is a lovely cottage, nicely appointed with lots of new appliances and an incredible view over the dam. Hosts Jacquie and Michael were lovely and very helpful

Jacquie was very helpful and welcoming. The view was incredible and the facilities were terrific. Just wish it was a bit warmer and we had more time for a swim!

A comfy cottage in a lovely location with friendly owners who obviously take pride in their accommodation. A tip for the drive there - Apple Maps may not have the right address, so if you haven't driven up a big hill then you're not quite there yet!

Lovely property which is quiet, with exceptional views. There was plenty of outdoor space for our dog to explore.

The access road is difficult and is out of town for an overnight stay but still enjoyed the experience.
