Location great. Close to lots of restaurants and fast food. Not far from train stations either. Old fashioned hotel but still beautiful rooms and nice decor. TV could be updated however. Bathroom was nice and everything was clean.

Lady at reception on check in was just a little out of touch with her customer service. Picked up a call while we were checking in and she was on the phone for a good ten minutes booking someone else when we just wanted to go up to our room. Also didn't say hello on our arrival just straight up asked for my name.

The receptionist was very friendly and we could leave our luggage there the whole day before going to the airport The room was clean and spacious Great location

In the description it says that there is a stove in the room but there actually wasn't. This was very disappointing because we bought food for the stove which we had to throw away eventually.

My husband and I were very impressed with the location. One block from the Queen St Mall and approx a 10-15 minute walk to Southbank. There is no problem with choice of eating places as all cuisines are within a walking distance. The problem is choosing one! We had a car, and the parking was easy. Parking was in the Uptown shopping centre which is diagonally opposite to the hotel. Entry and exit was easy with the assistance of a discount voucher. There is actually a designated parking area for hotel guests. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful lady at Reception. All the staff were very helpful with any queries we had.

It's a shame about the ongoing underground works happening right outside the front door, but this isn't the fault of the hotel and the rooms seem quite well insulated from the noise. Our room was at the front of the building and we didn't hear any noise!

the location, price and that gorgeous vintage style. it's tucked away amongst the busy road and Into another era, another world. a total sanctuary from the Gray busy city. very quiet and remarkably spacious rooms with kitchenette and washing! dryer! absolutely bargain and this was my 4th stay. love love love accommodated an extra bunk in case we needed and I wrote in at booking, very observant and excellent service.

the single bed was a bit hard but, I gave mum the big bed. the issue with the parking a little bit because I miss the valet elevator! easy parking nearby reserved for Albert guests but even with room stamp , $30 for two night/day and $11 more on exit. (sunday)

The hotel is placed in the city and close to shopping and eateries. The street outside has many excellent options for meals, especially asian styles and there are numerous specialty shops nearby. The bed was comfortable and the rooms large and well kept. The building is old and you expect it to be a certain way. This building seems to have been well maintained and the art is something extra. The staff were all helpful, friendly and polite. It was spotlessly clean.

I didn't love the steps down into the living area, just inside the door but this was a small thing. Nothing else was an issue.

I've always wanted to stay at this historic hotel, and I’m so glad I took the opportunity! Its location in the heart of the city was great – just steps away from shops, dining options, and entertainment. The lobby was both charming and timeless and the staff were very friendly. The suite I stayed in was spacious and impeccably well-kept, offering a perfect balance of luxury and comfort. The bathroom was just as generous in size, and I felt truly pampered with its amenities. As for the bed – it was incredibly comfortable, providing a restful sleep after a night of partying. It felt like a homeaway from home, and I’d definitely return for another stay. If you're looking for a combination of rich history and modern convenience, this hotel is fantastic.

Accommodated me very quickly after flight was cancelled and I scrambled to find somewhere reasonable in the city. Very lovely welcoming staff. Room was palatial!! 4m high ceilings. Very clean if a bit run down. Old school styling but everything you would need including in room kitchenette and laundry. Very comfy bed, not too soft but not hard either. Quiet considering it’s in the heart of the CBD. Only heard doors closing in other rooms and bit of street traffic.

Four stairs going down into room and from main area to bathroom. Very odd and a bit problematic if you have mobility issues like me. No screen on shower so water went everywhere. Drain wasn’t effective. Weird light up shower head. Wi-Fi pretty much non-existent. Had to use data on phone.

Aircon is close to none it was hot, cannot be adjusted, centralised aircon must be set to 30 degrees Squeaky flooring in the bedroom Small couch pillows were stinky from not being washed the pillow case Bathroom door is short and makes the floor very wet after shower Bed is not very comfortable

Central location. We were impressed by the huge size of the room. Room a bit dated but clean and with everything you need, even kitchenette, washing machine, dryer, etc.

Reception staff upon arrival forgot to fully activate our access card, so we could use the lift but couldn't enter the room. We returned downstairs and they didn't even apologize, instead they tried to blame us at first for trying to access the wrong room... When it clearly was their miss. Flight of stairs inside the room, right between the bathroom and the bedroom, makes it slightly uncomfortable, even if there is a warning sign by the door to avoid trips and falls.

Location is excellent, 10 meters from Queen Street mall. Staff friendly, although sometimes a bit of a wait while they parked cars - but generally not for long. The rooms are spacious and architecture wonderful. Showers hot. Car parking available, can take your car out as needed. Amazing double bank high car park - what a great use of space.

Steps down into the apartment, didn't realise they had them as nothing in the room description other than all rooms accessible by lift, mum has bad knees so limited her access to the kitchen which was at the top of the steps - she would only do the steps on the way in and out. Couldn't get the VCR to work, neither could the staff.
