This is a great place we really enjoyed our stay room was clean and tidy, we had nice sea views our room has not been updated so was a little tired which was a shame as our friends rooms were much nicer as had been refurbished. Great location this place is close to beach , great little cafe called Lola’s 50m down the road short work to Broadbeach Managers are excellent and very helpful we locked ourselves out and was no trouble to Let us back in available when needed We used the pool all the time and was quiet and easy yo relax Lift great as never really had to wait long at all We have already booked for next Christmas and really looking forward to it

The property is always clean and tidy. The beds are comfortable and the apartments are a great size and are equipped with everything you need. Also loved the fact they had Foxtel as I am a mad nrl fan and I got to watch all the games

Our microwave didn’t work which isn’t their fault if no one had told them. The letter I got in my after hours check in indicated that the after hours number was for emergencies only so I felt like I couldn’t call for a broken microwave which I did in fact need due to dietary restrictions. However, after letting them know it was broken via an email, they since informed me that I couldn’t call have in fact called and they would have replaced it and also were available at any time if I needed anything and that they would change the wording on their letters. Great to know for next visit!

I travel all over Australia, and this place is without question my favourite of all. Not fancy or stuck up, just clean, comfortable, great vibe, great location, and everything you need to work or rest. Lovely bed, view and kitchen as well. I’ve been staying here for two years, and it has always been good, but the new managers have made it exceptional. Great service and just a lovely vibe about the place. In a sea of fake places and bad service, this place really stands out

The location was practically a minute walk to the beach, and had a tap at the entrance to stop from carrying sand in. The building was very secure which was comforting, and the private parking was great as street parking was often quite busy. The staff were friendly and super helpful. The pool and spa were clean and used everyday during our stay. The rooms were spacious and the view was beautiful. The rubbish shoot was very convenient and the shower pressure was great.

Not something that I didn't like but something to note, my bathroom did not have a fan (I may have just missed it lol ) but if not just be mindful if someone uses the toilet, the room may need a few minutes lol but may not be the case with the other rooms.

This is our second stay at San Mateo On Broadbeach. We loved it last time, which is why we came back, but this time it was even better. Our experience started with a call from our host, Melissa, the night before, advising us that our room would be available earlier if we desired, which we did. It was a very nice touch and very much appreciated by us. Upon arrival, we were given a warm welcome and all the info we needed. Our allocated room appeared to have been recently renovated. It was fresh, bright, modern, and had a very functional layout and a great view of the ocean from the bedroom, living area, and balcony. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and we loved the fact that free Wi-Fi and Foxtel were included. We also really appreciated the secure undercover parking. If all this wasn't enough, the location is amazing. It's only one (quiet) street back from the beach and an easy stroll to restaurants, cafes, and open space. We prefer to walk every where, so we love the fact that we can walk to the Pacific Fair shopping centre and Surfers Paradise, and this time we even walked along the coastal walkway all the way Burleigh Heads, in the south, and Southport in the north. San Mateo has it all. We can't recommend it highly enough.

One very small gripe, and it's the only gripe we had last year. It's the couch. This apartment has the same couch as the apartment we had last time. My partner and I both find it very uncomfortable. It's impossible to sit on it for longer than a few minutes without the seat cushions sliding forward, necessitating having to stand up every 10 minutes or so to push the cushion back in. Neither of us could use the couch to watch TV.. My partner sat on the chair, and I sat on a cushion on the floor. It's unfortunate because it detracts a little from an otherwise perfect stay.

Pretty good value for money. I didn’t come for the beach, but the apartment was only a block away with surf views. The coffee shop, BWS and little grocer a block away was an added bonus. Having the washing machine, dryer and iron was super handy.

The 8 or so steps at the entrance with super heavy luggage were tricky. I’m not a fan of signs on the wall with rules, makes it feel a bit institutionalised. Having to take bottles down to the recycle bin in the basement (which I never found-the recycle bin, not the basement), wasn’t ideal. Check out was a bit of a scramble trying to get dishes done and away, rubbish out and bottles to the recycle bin as per the rules on the wall (to avoid an extra charge). Also, 15-20 min walk into town proper (my bad, I clearly didn’t check with google maps!).

Location was great. Microwave was fabulous. All amenities functional

Very limited availability of towels, no bath mat, one bottle of liquid soap (very powerful smelling) for the whole apartment including the shower. Couch was tired and uncomfortable. Shower made loud whistling sound and the flick mix was hard to use. Most items in the apartment are badly needing a refresh.

Great apartment that was good value for money. Great location and easy to get to all parts of the gold coast. 2min walk to the beach, that was nice and quiet compared to a lot of the other busier beaches. Loved that they had a barbecue at the apartment as well, and it definitely helped when the beach ones got busy on Christmas.

The location was great

The wifi died the day before I left so I had no wifi or foxtel tv for my last 24 hrs. Reestablisging the link was long complicated and beyond me also impossible without wifi! This totally spoilt what had been a lovely stay.

We stayed in a lovely big apartment on the 7th floor. Had everything we needed. Bed was very comfy. Building is just a few short metres away from Second Avenue beach access.

Parking spots are a bit tight. There was construction taking place that blocked the sea view a bit.
