Very central location, perfect for anyone who wants to spend time around the CBD, Docklands, Carlton etc. The hotel is an old one but they've kept up to date with modern standards - The room was perfectly comfortable. The bar downstairs was classy and comfortable also, with a happy hour special for drinks and food that was quite decent. Room service is 24hrs a day, which we much appreciated!
The room's soundproofing needed a little improvement. Not so much because we were disturbed by any noise, but because noise from the rooms including conversation can easily be heard from the hallways. The TVs are about as old as the hotel itself 😅 It seems like this was forgotten when everything else was modernised.

I recently stayed at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, and I must say, its location is fantastic. It's right in the heart of the city, making it easy to access food, shopping, and explore around Rome. I appreciated that it was only a 10-minute walk to the Parliament train station, which was very convenient. The room itself was cozy, and I enjoyed having a balcony, although it was quite small. My only disappointment was the lack of a microwave in the room, which would have been a nice addition. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but a few small amenities could have made it even better.

Location could not be better, right in the center of it all. Walking distance to cafes, restaurants, shopping, comedy clubs, etc also within the free tram zone. Valet parking on-site and reasonably priced especially for overnight. Bed comfy, room was very clean. Only stayed two (2) nights and bed was made and fresh towels provided. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Special call out to Savannah and Joan who offered exceptional customer service. Highly recommend.
I believe all rooms should be equipped with smart TV's. However, did not watch TV during my stay, but still guests should have access to Netflix, YouTube etc.,

The staff at the front desk were lovely and very nice, so upon arrival it felt like a very nice place to check in. The room itself was also fantastic! It was very clean and tea, coffee and sugar packs were also provided, along with a kettle and a small bar fridge (inside a cabinet) with some milk, which was an a great addition. The bathroom was also very clean and came with soaps and conditioners. What I appreciated the most was the very hot shower! It was so nice to jump into the shower to have a really hot shower after walking around the CBD all day, especially after getting wet in the rain. The provided TV was also great as it allowed me to screencast my phone and watch YouTube and Kick on the TV. The view was nice too, although limited due to being located at the side of the hotel. Highly recommended hotel! I will be back here again in the future even though I live in Melbourne South Eastern suburbs; it was just good to get away and not have to worry about going home with busy traffic after a long day in the city. Again, 10/10!
I usually sleep with a firm pillow at night and only soft ones were provided which resulted in me waking a few times during the night, so it might be good to provide some firm pillow too?

Rooms were immaculate ,modern ,newly furbished ,bathroom fascillities new and well present ,"Apelles" toiletries . Enjoyed our stay.unfortunately there is alot of Reno work and painting on the lift foyers. The pool was also closed for the repairs. The restaurant as a room is " tired"/ outdated. Room service food is excellent. The staff is very accommodating and went out of their way to make up for the builders etc.central positon."The Encore" bar and lounge is good ,offering discount on drinks with a daily "happy hour " .
The renovation work.the resturant appearance ,though the breakfast is good.

Our room was very clean and comfortable, with everything well maintained. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and went out of their way to be helpful, which made our short stay pleasant. The hotel's location was perfect, literally walking distance to everything! Convenience store right next to hotel and Korean bbq and snack (win!). Close to QV and Melbourne Central which are my fave places in town!
I’m a smoker, so I usually look for hotels with a balcony where I can relax and enjoy the view. Unfortunately, after checking in I found that our balcony was a non-smoking zone, and the view wasn’t the best. Another teeny weeny downside was the parking. Before booking, I called the hotel to confirm car park costs and was told it was $45 for 24 hours. We checked in at 2:30pm, but the next day when we spoke to the car park attendant, he told us it wasn’t 24 hours and that we had to collect the car by 12pm. This threw off our plans for the day, which was a little disappointing, but we managed to work around it.

Grand Chancellor Melbourne: Perfect Location & Impeccable Service The Grand Chancellor Hotel in Melbourne has an unbeatable location! It's a short walk to Chinatown, theatres, the Greek Quarter, shopping, and those charming Melbourne laneways. I loved being close to the action but still having a quiet room for a good night's sleep. What made my week-long stay truly special was the impeccable service. Every staff member, from the concierge to the cleaning team, was discreet, and attentive, and genuinely made me feel at home. They anticipated my needs before I even had to ask – my room was always immaculately cleaned and stocked with everything I needed. I stayed in a Superior Queen Room, which was spacious, comfortable, and had a lovely balcony. Highly recommend the Grand Chancellor Melbourne for a luxurious and convenient stay.

Here is your hotel review in very simple and plain English: --- We stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff were very kind and thoughtful. Before we arrived, we told them about our anniversary, and they gave us a lovely card and a bottle of champagne. That really touched our hearts. 🥂💌 The breakfast buffet was great — so many choices, and everything was fresh and tasty. 🍳🥐☕️ Overall, it was a very good stay and great value for money. We felt very welcome and cared for. Thank you! 😊💖
We had asked for early check-in, and the staff replied politely and quickly. They prepared everything for us, and check-in went smoothly. When we came back later, the room was not quite ready and we waited about 20 minutes more than the normal check-in time. But the staff stayed polite and friendly, and we were happy to wait. 😊 We had also asked for a quiet room. Maybe because the hotel was full, our room was next to the lift. It was not very noisy, but not the quietest. 🛗

My room was quite large and looked to be freshly redecorated. It was well appointed with a desk and chair and there were also two armchairs a casual side table. There were good block out curtains on the windows as well as sheers which helped make the room feel cosy and comfortable. There was a small private balcony off the room and although it was nice to have the door open and enjoy the fresh air, the balcony lacked visual appeal. It had a very large aircon unit sitting on it and the balcony floor was dirty and needed a fresh coat of paint. The bathroom looked new and was very functional. Overall it was a nicely appointed room that felt good to spend time in. The buffet breakfast was good value and there was lots to choose from. I also had dinner in the hotline night and it was also good value and very tasty. The location was excellent and very central. Close to China town and the Theatres.
The mattress needed replacing as it sagged on one side. Luckily I was by myself so I was able to swap sides. I mentioned it when I was checking out and the receptionist took note and promised it would be rectified. Otherwise the bed was comfortable. She was very apologetic and said I should have mentioned it before so they could fix it. I was happy with their response to the issue.

Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed, and lovely shower. We're given a complimentary upgrade, and were in a spacious room. Only stayed one night. Did not use any of the hotel facilities outside of the room, and can't comment on parking. Stayed midweek to attend a theatre show, and the location was very convenient and within waking distance to the theatre.
Very noisy. Woke up several times in the night from traffic and people yelling on the street. Appeared to be some work being done on an elevator, requiring loud power tools that began far too early in the morning for people wanting to relax and enjoy a peaceful morning. Might have been nice to be given some warning.
