I'm originally from Melbourne but live abroad. While visiting family and friends with my son, I wanted to give him a couple of days off meeting new people and our own space, so booked the Radisson for three nights. Our room was spacious, allowing him to play while the large TV in the room also kept him entertained. The hotel is directly across from Flagstaff Gardens, which we made use of every day, especially the playground which is under a minutes walk from the hotel. Queen Victoria Market is less than 5 minutes walk away, which he also enjoyed and we used for shop for the staples we needed - fruit, bread, etc. - for our stay; while the hotel is only 10 minutes walk from the centre of the city. All-in-all, we were very happy and I would use the Radisson again.

The bathroom was large but showing its age. It was well-appointed with towels and had basic amenities but in the bath / shower, there were no shampoos or conditioners and only small bars of soap. It's been awhile since I stayed at a hotel that doesn't supply all of these.

Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens is in a fantastic location — close to public transport, the Queen Victoria Market, and an easy walk to many of Melbourne’s attractions. The hotel is easily accessible and well-situated for both business and leisure stays. Staff were very helpful and welcoming throughout our stay, which made for a pleasant experience overall. However, on this occasion, we were placed in a room that hadn’t yet been renovated, unlike on a previous visit. This was a little disappointing, as the difference in quality was noticeable. That said, the convenience of the location and the consistently friendly service remain strong drawcards. With a bit more consistency in room standards, it would be a top-tier choice in the area.

The staff were lovely & helpful, the room was spacious & comfortable, the buffet breakfast was wonderful & the location was great. We will be returning again soon!

Bathroom would benefit from an upgrade (old discoloured grout, paint peeling from bottom of door, shower tiling worn, toilet roll holder loose & hard to reach). Computer system...our late checkout (1pm) & parking rates didn't seem to be updated on the system & we were questioned by staff as to why we hadn't left our room by 12pm & then almost overcharged for our parking. Pillows were a little uncomfortable.

We liked absolutely everything. My favourite hotel so far. All these small details, everything has been thought through. If we had a problem (with the shower door, the water leaked), it was fixed straight away. Lucy Hsu – the lady we met at the restaurant – is an exceptional hostess, we felt loved thanks to her. She took care of us, she worried that we ate a lot, she even remembered my name. Massive thank you to Lucy! The ladies at the reception helped a lot, too: Angel, Rose, thank you! Also, I mentioned that it was our anniversary, and we got a complimentary bottle of wine. How lovely is that!? Great location. Tram stop just around the corner. Park right at the doorstep. Ah, have I mentioned their breakfast?! Absolutely amazing! They had everything one could wish for. If we visit Melbourne ever again – it will be the only place to stay at. Highly recommended.

I didn't like that we have stayed there for 5 nights only. Could have gladly stayed there for 2 weeks!

- Friendly staff - Complimentary water bottles, kettle, tea, coffee, hot chocolate - Good location across from a park and not far from Central Mall shops and restaurants (5-10 minutes walking distance) - comfortable bed with four pillows - shower had good water pressure - Great price for Melbourne and quite a large room - comfortable armchair for relaxing in

- Clean and comfortable but a little dated - Room location was at the back of the hotel next to the elevators, not much of a view and a little noisy - Mug where hard to find, in a cupboard on top of the fridge (had to turn it sideways to get out) not sure why they didn’t put them on the bench with the kettle and wine glasses - Towels are threadbare and small - Lighting was not great for putting on makeup in the bathroom or with the mirror in the room

It was our very first visit to Australia. The location of the Radisson was just brilliant. It was very close to the Flagstaff metro station as well as the tram station. The trams are very well connected and were free in this area. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The park opposite the hotel is beautiful. The buffet breakfast is basic, but good. We realised that omelettes are not free, but you could get fried, poached or boiled eggs on the house. Also the heater in the room was a big blessing during our stay in the peak winters. What we also loved was the Champagne they left us in the room on ice, on the house, since it was my birthday one of the days we stayed, which was a lovely lovely gesture on their part!

Overall nothing really. I think its a culture there that things close early and people leave early. We asked for fresh tea cups in the evening, and were told to come to the reception and collect since there was no staff, which we didn't really mind.

The location across from the park made for quiet nights with less road traffic noise than I have experienced in other Melbourne hotels. Appreciated the complimentary bottle of water per person per day due to our 6 night stay. Beds were comfortable with a large pillow menu.

King sized sheets on the single bed made for an uncomfortable sleep, wrangling so much material. Only 1 towel per person provided. People with long hair often need a second towel and shouldn't have to ask for it. Spares should be in the bathroom available for immediate use.

Excellent location overlooking beautiful parkland. Ideal for trips has they often pick up at this hotel. The staff where amazing and could not do enough for us. The food in the restaurant is excellent and some of the best we have had while in Australia. The beds are very comfy and the soundproofing works well. Overall we felt this was the best hotel so far out of the 5 we have stayed in while travelling. We would definitely recommend staying here.

I did feel that some aspects of the housekeeping could have been a bit better. Our cups could have been replaced each day. Dust around light fixtures and at the edges of the carpet. These are just little things.

The Raddison was central to where we wanted to be . Close to train station close to inner city, close to ….. QUEEN VICTORIA MARKETS!!!! The rooms are cleaned each day with fresh towels left too. The front of house staff are lovely so happy and friendly . Tells me that they love their job. And the food is great . Ps love the shower . 24 hour front desk, room service that’s not ridiculously priced . You go Radisson you have a winning formula.
