The room was fantastic and clean. Great size and view. Food was great and good value.

All the staff were excellent and friendly. Unfortunately we had a poor experience on checkout with feeling as though we were an inconvenience to the person who was on check out at reception.

We did book well in advance at an exceptional rate, so weren’t sure if we would end up in some terrible part of the hotel or not. Our room was dated, but amazing, great view over the park. Very large for the four of us the room service food was good price and excellent quality. The restaurant downstairs was great for the staff very helpful and very close to everywhere we needed to be. Right on the tram line or plenty of parking for Cars.

The room was a little dated but we were fine with that. I’m sure you would pay much more money for fully renovated new one. But all in all exceptional value.

The staff were great, the bars and restaurants offered value and comfort food, and a great breakfast. The location was very convenient and yet quiet.

The TV had an issue; it kept freezing and not working. When I tried to call the front desk, it went to voicemail. I even tried calling the landline from my mobile phone, but it also went to voicemail. As usual, the front desk was busy with check-ins, making it impossible to get in touch and address the problem. Additionally, the Gym was very small and not ideal; the additional facilities were not working.

We loved how comfy the beds were. The staff were also really nice to us during our stay. The views of Melbourne from the room were excellent and the room was a great size! Honestly a great hotel

Only a couple of things. 1) someone had a party in their room across the hall from us and we’re blasting rap music late on a Sunday night. We called reception and the manager came to speak to them - they essentially told him to get lost refused to open the door and carried on and he just kind of left? We were very confused as to why he would tolerate that kind of behaviour however they did turn the music down enough so we couldn’t hear it after that. 2nd was we got room service and the portions for the desserts we ordered was a little small for the price and a little cold when it arrived but we were on the 7th floor so I kind of understood.

A short walk to The Alfred Hospital for appointments. Close to Albert Park and market

Not a biggy but confusion with parking! Facilities mention parking. When I looked at that in detail it says available for public without reservation at $21/night so I assumed parking was included with reservation. When free parking was queried to hotel through Booking.com prior to booking a room I heard nothing from either to the contrary. 🤨Message saying it was additional was only received after I booked. No real help from hotel or Booking.com. At least the information should be made clearer 😩

Great location and easy to get in and out of the hotel (entrance on the side street makes it so much easier for check in when in you're own car. Staff were accomodating and friendly. Room was clean, comfortable and pacious. Loved the layout of the room with the bathroom away from beds and the little dressing area.

The breakfast was poor. There was no bacon and despite waiting 15 minutes after being told it was coming momentarily, it didn't come. the hashbrowns and scrambled eggs had a strange taste to them. However the Almond Latte ordered via the coffee counter was excellent (except there was no sweetener, only sugar).

One light for bathroom and area to store luggage, clothes and make tea and coffee. Meant lighting up part of the room to use bathroom at night, which is not ideal. No air conditioning controls so no way to change the temperature. Shower head wasn't very adjustable so it wet the floor quite a bit.

Oh my gosh the shower - I considered how hard it would be / how much I would be charged if I unscrewed the shower head and brought it home haha! We stayed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day while visiting family at The Alfred (and Santa easily found us). The cost was substantially less for a much larger room than where other family members stayed nearby. The bed was very comfortable and the blockout curtain was one of the best I've used. Safe walking to and from the hospital at all hours with a child.

The shower drainage is a bit awkward, don't place your floor towel until you get out otherwise it will be drenched. Housekeeping replaced these during the day though.

This is our 3rd stay and we stayed 2 nights most recently. We have been so impressed with comfort of bed, shower heat/pressure, good TV/room size and easy access to the city via tram which is why we return. This time we discovered the shampoo/conditioner is actually great, Dyson hairdryer amazing, luxurious robes, iron in the room and the TV swivels making it easy to watch from bed! Our bed was made the next morning which was a surprise! Love coming here!

We were not impressed with breakfast the first time so have chosen not to get breakfast here and opt for other cafes in the area.
