Breakfast was relatively simple compare to other 5 star properties in Portugal but the staff made up for it. They were friendly and accommodating.

The location is good. The hotel is nice and has some history. What makes this hotel a 5 star hotel is not so much the amenities because they are weak in some areas, like housekeeping’s response time to issues, but the Manager Bruno Miguel, who went out of his way to make sure that our stay was a memorable one. The breakfast was plentiful and good. The breakfast staff was very accommodating and pleasant.

* Very nice, large and comfy room. * Large and comfy bathroom with a shower and a bathtub. * Excellent location at the shore of the estuary, close to two metro stations and a railway station, a short walk away from the historic center of the city. * Nice, helpful and accommodating staff.

* There was really no proper hotel bar and no restaurant serving a la carte menu throughout the day. I would really expect that from a five star hotel. Not a big deal since there were a lot of restaurants around. * Breakfast was really a four star hotel standard. It wasn't bad. But also not great. Very few vegan options. * Light switches in the room are very confusing and it took a lot of trial-and-error to switch on or off the lamps.

Location was great. Room was comfortable, clean and all you could ask for in a city centre.

The pool was €25 per person for 45mins. This was not clear when booking and a real disappointment

The only downside of this property in my opinion is that the breakfast wasn’t great or worth the price.

I chose this hotel as it said spa included so to be told it was 24 euros extra just to have a swim was not good. Your own website said pool free for guests in the evening and yet reception staff tried to make us pay. Website regarding spa needs to be updated and made clear. There was no option for me to tick spa when I booked online.

Good location. Amazing historical exhibits and small museum. The wine in the afternoon was a lovely treat after multiple long days out exploring this wonderful historical city!

Disappointed with front desk and cleaning staff -- they could not manage to keep coffee items stocked, water stocked or our mini-bar stocked. The hotel itself was amazing, elegant and comfortable; but the effects of having to ask for things to be brought to my room after being out exploring the city all-day 4 out of 5 nights left me yearning for a better trained staff and brought down my overall opinion of the property.

Our stay at Aurea Museum was absolutely exceptional! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome — they were incredibly friendly and helpful, even surprising us with thoughtful touches throughout our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful and spotlessly clean, with a stunning spa area that was perfect for relaxing. The location couldn’t be better, everything was within walking distance. And the breakfast was simply amazing, with a wide variety of delicious options. We can’t recommend this hotel highly enough and would love to return!

This is the third year in a row that I visit this hotel.. It is clean, the staff is really friendly, breakfast is excellent but last two years was a bit more various. Which is not a big deal as it is really nice breakfast. Also last two years I did get two complementary bottles every day but they changed the policy now. But after telling that to the staff, they proceed giving me two complementary bottles every day and as a gift a bottle of champagne and a plate of fruits! So nice of them! Position is great for exploring the city. I'll be coming again for sure.
