My recent stay at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. Perfect for leisure travelers, this hotel offers a peaceful retreat while still being conveniently close to Helsinki's city center. I was particularly impressed by the quiet location; while trams occasionally passed by, the noise was minimal and didn't disrupt the overall tranquility. The hotel boasts a modern design and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel right at home. Breakfast was a definite highlight, with a delicious spread to start the day. The bathroom amenities were also of great quality. For the quality and location, Hotel Ax offers exceptional value for money. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and convenient stay in Helsinki.

Loved the design and the weirdness - in a positive way - of the hotel. Very modern and futuristic, but yet very accommodating in terms of comfort, calm and quiet, and very warm.

To be very honest, I liked everything. The fact that there is no room service and that the food menu is limited - in options and timings as well - bothered me initially, but then I just understood that is managed like this and simply found other options. The staff were very very friendly - especially Heini, Sara and Bernie. They helped me with some things I needed in regards to food ordering, and also my plant based needs, which was very much appreciated. Although we stayed only 3-4 days, the staff managed to build a nice relation and remember me, which was very nice and sweet. I’ll definitely recommend the place to others when in Helsinki. And I hope to see Bernie again ☺️ he was very kind to me

I think that the breakfast was exceptionally good and there were a lot of interesting options for vegan and non vegan food. I absolutely loved the LGBTQ friendly environment which me as a person being in the community I felt so safe. Also knowing that it is a sustainable hotel in having biodegradable and cleanliness of the hotel rooms and corridors makes the whole experience better

The idea of the standard king rooms having two single duvets on a double bed was kind of a surprise to me but this didn’t bother me once sleeping in the bed. It didn’t matter because the bed was too comfy!!

Great weekend stay! The staff is friendy. You are welcomed by a quirky dragon on the door. It is so easy to get to from the train station by tram. The room was very spacious and was modern. There was enough lighting and the bed was super comfortable. It was not a hotel where they skimped on stuff like these days many hotels do. They had coffee, tea and a kettle in the room. The breakfast was quite a spread. The spread was just okayish, very industrial. The bagels were good! Overall a great stay.

Maybe the breakfast could have quality ingredients, the scrambled eggs were really watery.

Very nice hotel, very helpful and friendly staff. Tasty breakfasts, a bar equipped with various drinks, concerts and other events such as Valentine's Day, a mini cinema will also start soon, the most important is a very good location, a tram stop practically at the door of AX, grocery stores and restaurants, sauna, cinema and many other attractions on foot, about 15 minutes to the D-terminal if you are going by ferry to Tallinn for a trip. I will definitely go back there one day. Fun fact: each room has an individual unique décor. 6x 🌟 from me 🥰

The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a good selection of healthy options. A good breakfast is an essential of a hotel stay for me and Hotel AX provided just that. The reception area was unique to any hotel that I've stayed at before. A little quirky in some people's eyes, perhaps, but loads of character, all the same. If you're interested in art, there's lots of information about events going on around Helsinki and at the hotel itself. I particularly liked the way the rooms had their own art theme, rather than all looking the same. The second essential of a hotel stay for me is a comfy bed. Once again, Hotel AX delivered with a very wide, comfy bed. Although the hotel is located about 2 km from the city centre, there is a tram stop located almost directly outside with a service to the centre and stops close to the bus and railway stations.

My room faced the street which had very light traffic and was generally quiet. However, the downside of the good tram connection was the noise from them, which started early in the morning until late at night. The downside of the wide bed is that the space between it and the window is very cramped. There's no cupboard in the room. Instead, clothes are hung off pegs protruding from the wall. This, the toilet roll dispenser and the bathroom waste bin are artistically neat, but not so practical.

Hotel is located about 1,5 km from the central station. But there is a tramway stop literally in front of the hotel. Therefore it is very easy to get to and from there. I was staying at very cozy room and well equipped. The bed is vey comfortable. The breakfast is various and provides delicious plates. The staff is very cheerful and helpful. The quality stands for the price.

There is no chair in a room (there is a foldable table but no chair).

The windows had great view, I loved it. Loved the pukka tea we got in our room. The decoration in the room was lovely, the staff was incredible! It was convenient to have our bags stored at the hotel at the day of our departure. The shampoos were great quality.

Their breakfast wasn’t quite up to the standard of the other Clarion hotels I stayed at. I was looking forward to the Oatley products they had in some of their pictures, however it was just one yogurt with a dirty, sticky old cap. I also missed some variety with their coffee, there was just filtered coffe.

This was my second stay at AX and I absolutely loved it. I like the quiet area that the hotel is in, the comfort of the bed and bedlinen, as well as the friendly staff. It is a very quiet hotel and the art work is exquisite. I will be back in the summer.

The cleanliness could be improved. I found black hair (maybe from housekeeping) on my bed as well as the fresh towels. I would encourage and recommend that housekeeping wear hairnets to avoid hair on bed/towels.

I booked this hotel shortly before coming to Helsinki for a scientific conference on the central university campus downtown. I chose it because its price was affordable, it was not too far from the centre, which could be reached with a direct tram line. The hotel turned out to be very nice with a a pleasant arty feel. I felt very comfortable there and the staff was most welcoming and did their best to satisfy my needs (I run into a couple of emergencies while in Helsinki and they really helped). I highly recommend this hotel.
