Our stay at Hotel Alfred was excellent 👌 The hotel is perfectly located. An easy walk to everything. The beds are very comfortable (not hard hay mattresses as so many other hotels). The breakfast buffet was fresh, homemade and top notch. The staff could not do enough for you. Laura checked us in, so friendly and took us to our room. There was an issue with that room so she immediately checked if she could move us to another (she did). George sorted our air conditioning issue. He called up after to make sure it was working, but we weren't in so he called the next morning when we didn't show for breakfast. He suggested he save some food for us when we could make it down (perfect). Luc with his large smile/personality and homemade ginger wake up shot for the morning. Agathe with her smiling face and helpful attitude. Ciara and Alex filling in between. Everyone was so positive and helpful. Is this France?! The room was cleaned daily. There's under floor heating in the bathroom. The courtyard is lovely to sit in too. Our stay was brilliant 😄 We'll be back again!

The transfer to the airport was incredibly pricey for the 6 minutes it took to get there. Booked by the hotel.

The staff really make this place. They are all young and super-friendly and helpful. The concierge, Clemente, reached out to me ahead of time and helped me organise pick-up from the airport because I was arriving late in the evening. There was an issue with the lock on the door I was initially assigned, but they quickly switched me to another room. The breakfast buffet is excellent, given the small size of the hotel and the ingredients are all top quality, which makes a real difference to the experience. You can also access the coffee/tea machine at any time of the day and there's a little terrace for you to sit out in. The location is also great - everything was walkable and it is very close to the acquarium and the beaches and about 10 minutes walk to the bus stop to take you to the airport.

Just be aware that the rooms are quite small, but they did have everything I needed and I wasn't spending much time in it anyway!

Very clean. Welcoming atmosphere. Reception service. My wife and I stayed at this centrally located hotel in Biarritz and had a very pleasant experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and everything we needed was within walking distance — beaches, shops, and restaurants. What really stood out was the service at reception. Emma was absolutely amazing — kind, professional, and always ready to help. She gave excellent local tips and made us feel truly welcome. Her warm attitude made a big difference and really enhanced our stay. Overall, a great option if you're looking for a well-located and reasonably priced hotel in Biarritz with exceptional staff.

I can't say enough about this hotel! The location was perfect and close to everything, including a bus stop. The price/value was excellent. But the best part was the staff! Clement messaged me before our stay to give me detailed information on everything we needed, and responded quickly to my questions. He offered a special "treat" to be left in the room which was much appreciated when arriving hungry. Laura was super friendly and helpful at check in. But the star was Luc, who kept my son company during the night when he was suffering from jet lag, and went to the kitchen to scrounge up some delicious cheese, bread, pastries, hot chocolate, etc.

We chose Biarritz as our short holiday after our wedding because almost everywhere in Europe it is too hot during July. We were first time visitors and we loved the coastal town, its vibe, food, weather. Alfred Port Vieux was a very good choice for us, because we needed to rest and that meant laying on the beach, swimming and eating good food. The hotel is small and tres chic. Simple rooms with a clean design and a French feel. They offer beach towels which was a big plus. Also water and coffee is at your disposal all the time. Close to everything — beach, bars, shops. I think it is a good fit for anyone whose main concern is being close to the beach. The cherry on top was that they offered us the room with the biggest balcony just because we asked for it being in our honeymoon. They were really really nice. We recommend it and we’ll probably return!

I wouldn’t say there was something we didn’t like, but there are things that could be improved. The hotel is just a little bit overpriced taking into consideration it doesn’t have the breakfast included (not event the French one with viennoserie) and no spa services.

Excellent location, right near the Port Vieux, Old Port area of Biarritz, which allows easy access to all parts of the city. The hotel was recently renovated with a nice costal beachy decor. The room itself has quality touches - nice bedding, good towels, nice shampoo and soap products and even Mariage Freres tea (fancy French brand)! The shower water pressure was amazing. Even beach towels are available, which is so convenient, as you are just steps away from the beach! Complimentary tea, coffee and cool water were always available in the main hotel. We were in the annex (which is also great.) There were lots of common areas to spend time in as well. Staff was friendly and responsive to all of our requests. I especially appreciated the concierge service that reached out prior to the stay and answered my questions. We had a repeated problem during our stay that wasn't fully resolved, but all efforts were made to address it and the resolution that was provided exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay again despite the issue.

Small thing - I was a little disappointed that the complimentary tea / coffee were rarely stocked in the annex property, as there was such a nice open area to spend time in. There is a machine in the room, but our tea wasn't restocked by housekeeping either after we used it up. Structural thing - Like many European hotel rooms in smaller towns, the bathroom was small, but the toilet orientation was particularly uncomfortable in our room. We're around 5ft7 (170cm) tall - a much taller person would have a hard time so be sure to ask for an adequate bathroom if you are on the tall side.

Loved the location the staff the on tap coffee and the little courtyard for eating a delicious breakfast prepared by Lucas - we were in the Annex which was spotless. Beatrice and staff in the main hotel were so helpful provided towels daily for the beach and helped book flixbus to San Sebastian and taxi to bus station. The room was small but so comfortable with super comfy bed and fab Aircon which was deffo appreciated as it was v hot. I would totally recommend this hotel.

We are tall and while the bathroom had a fabulous shower it was narrow - don't get me wrong we managed fine but for a larger person it could be tight.

everything. The location is one minute walk to the beach. hotel rooms look newly decorated and spotlessly clean. Really good hairdryer in room and access to mirror. Beds are very comfortable, dhowe excellent, lovely soaps and towels. Breakfast is excellent, tea and coffee are available all day and night. Most important of all, the staff were so friendly, helpful and kind. From the receptionists ( don't know her name) to the Manager and special mention to Luc, the night receptionist, he was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for him, thank youLuc. I would definitely stay here again, very friendly, family like atmosphere

I liked the breakfast, they had both warm and cold options as well as glutenfree options, and I loved the staff and their wonderful service. The hotel has a great location, very centrally located, only a minute from the sea.

The room was a bit too small. I couldn't properly open either the bathroom door or the door to the hallway without either of them hitting the bed. The bed was also smaller than a normal make and I couldn't really fit in it, meaning I either had my feet outside or pull them in towards me or sleep diagonally. The bed was otherwise comfy.

This hotel went the extra mile to ensure a comfortable stay. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, and there were thoughtful touches like a personal welcome letter, a cute tote bag as a gift, and little guides about local dining and attractions. The design of the hotel is stylish and tasteful, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The whole concept is crafted to make guests feel truly special. The room was perfect, and I believe I have been upgraded to one with a terrace. On top of that, the location is unbeatable—strategically situated in the heart of Biarritz, by the seaside, and just a short walk from all the city’s attractions. For the price, the quality and experience are exceptional. Thank you for making my stay so special and unforgettable <3
