My first solo trip and I was not disappointed, I was made to feel so welcome and safe, staff took time to get to know me and made sure my stay went smoothly. The hotel itself is the most beautiful hotel iv stayed in, attention to detail, just stunning, amazing location. Such a relaxing calming environment which is exactly what I needed.

Nothing to write negatively about the location, the staff, food or facilities.

We stayed there for 4 days. Upon arrival we were absolutely happy with the beauty of this hotel. The decor is absolutely breathtaking. Niko, at the reception made our stay very special. We will never forget your hospitality xxx Breakfast was the best part of our stay I would say. Food was very good and fresh. The coffee was also very lovely. Hotel situated walking distance from the village Great people and authentic crete food.

My shower was the only thing that was different from ours in Canada. The shower in the basement from our vîlla was very tiny. That's it :)

This is a gorgeous sprawling set of rooms around a village street on a hill above the main square. Whilst the hill from the parking area to the reception is steep, there is a gentle road to use down to the town centre and back. Our room was beautiful, the bedroom spacious and giving the appearance of having been carved from the rock. The bathroom too was a good size and there was a kitchen area with full size fridge, always useful on a hot holiday, plus a four plate hob and full oven. It is a short twenty minute journey from Heraklion airport and only 15 minutes from Knossos. The pools are small but very attractive and a great place to cool off. The bistro had a super menu , we ate there two evenings and for all of our breakfasts. All of the staff were simply lovely and they made a lovely fuss of me on my birthday. A really impressive and happy team.

The only down side of the pool areas was that the small courtyard style means limited space around and only three full sized sun beds. So I don’t think this is the place for you if you only want to lay by the pool all day.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, the terrace leading out into the streets of Archanes was a highlight, as we had a view of the adjacent mountain, and also got to enjoy a breeze. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The breakfast was really lovely--the greek pastries and baked tomato with cheese dish were a highlight. The hotel hosted live music in the restaurant one night while we stayed, and the staff was incredibly attentive. We visited by car, and as Archanes is very hilly, they put to use a golf cart to move people around, which was a nice touch. The furnishings in the room was also very stylish.

The jacuzzi never really got warm, and it was the reason we booked this specific room. However, it was neither here nor there, the rest of the facilities were so wonderful. I'd also request additional coffee pods in the rooms.

As many have pointed out, this place looks exactly like the photos. It's very slick and modern, but built into the small Village of Archanes in a way that almost hides the hotel. It's really cozy. The staff were great, the bistro is great, and Archanes itself is a lovely example of a Cretan mountain village.

The room felt a bit cramped, there was nowhere to hang more than one towel, let alone swimwear (the hotel has a pool, so the odds are pretty good people will want to hang swimwear to dry, just saying.) The reception was a bit hidden, up a very steep slope, which wasn't ideal. Also, there's about three sunbeds at the pool, and the area itself is very small.

This place was AMAZING. The small town and luxurious vibe we were looking for. All the staff from reception to kitchen to cleaning was so nice and helpful. Especially Manos was kind and thoughtful. Nikos helped us arrange a car. It was more expensive than what we found online, but this car was delivered to us and we could leave it at our next hotel in Heraklion. We therefore paid for this service.

We could hear our upstairs neighbours walking, but we did not mind. However, if you cannot sleep with noise, this might be an issue (or bring some ear plugs).

We booked a villa for a family of 4 (2 teenage sons). Only 2 of the 3 villas were occupied so it was very quiet. Great facilities - barbecue, dining table and pool table all round the pool. There are no sun loungers though - only egg chairs and big comfy chairs on your balconies. There are 3 small pools - one for the villas and the other 2 for the suites. The villa was incredible - there was so much room and several balconies. The decor was not great though. It was done in traditional style but just seemed really old fashioned. Doesn't impact on the comfort of your stay though. The breakfast was really good - usual continental type foods but you could get omelette and scrambled eggs made fresh. It was so good to have this included as it set you up for the day. We had lunch once in the restaurant and it was outstanding. My son had the lamb shank and raved about it for the rest of the holiday. Archanes was a great location for exploring the island - we hired a car (150 euros for min 4 days) and did Heraklion, Water City water park, Elounda, Spinalonga Island, Knossos Palace and Lyrarikis Winery. The winery was definitely a highlight - got a tour of the vineyard and we went for the picnic option which was a proper treat and the food was plentiful and of such good quality. 65 euros for a welcome wine, 4 wines and the lunch, and a tour. Worth every cent. Archanes town is a 3 minute walk away and offers loads of bars, cafes and restaurants. It is very cheap and you get plenty of food of a high quality. You can also get the bus to Heraklion which is 1.20 per person, it also goes past Knossos Palace. Staff in the hotel were lovely and helpful, always ready with a smile and willing to offer advice.

Only 2 sun loungers so not suitable for sun lovers. Get rid of the shower curtains in the villa - unhygienic, old fashioned and don't do the job! We had a very late check in as it was a late flight which was delayed - we got messages saying we would be charged 40 euros as the reception closes at midnight. In the end, they did not charge us (and in fact gave us a leaving gift) but it was not a great first impression.

The whole accommodation was seamlessly integrated into several streets in the Archanes village. The room and the whole complex had modern facilities, with a great attention to sustainability, but it also maintained the local vibe, and the typical cretan village architecture. The room was spacious, with big beds and all the facilities. It also had direct exit to one of the pools, which was blended in between the houses. The room had enough light, but also plenty of shade so the temperatures were pleasant without much effort. The breakfast was diverse and the staff was very helpful with all the information. The whole complex adds value to the whole village and makes the visit more authentic.

There is really nothing to complain about, everything was good and met our expectations or even exceeded them in some areas.

Located in a nice village close to Heraklion with beautiful surroundings. The property is very stylish and has an interesting design. The bathroom area was spacious and had good products. Very good breakfast.

We got upgraded to a suite with pool view. That room was very small, without a sitting area and also felt quite exposed. Having the pool so close was nice but the water was extremely cold. Maybe that's great when it's 40°C outside :-) It's okay e.g. for a long weekend but not really comfortable if you have a bigger suitcase (or more than one), as there will be no place to store it. Also difficult to dry towels/swimsuits. Great design should alsi mean functional, not only good looking.

We stayed here for a week, and it was beautiful and relaxing. Archanes is a lovely, quiet village set in the mountains and surrounded by olive trees - offering a much more serene setting compared to nearby Heraklion. The property is thoughtfully designed and kept in a really clean condition. The staff are a special highlight - Anastasia, Anny, Christina, the two Nikos's and Manos were delightfully friendly and endlessly accomodating. The chefs and cleaning staff were also fantastic. If you're looking to really disconnect and relax, I highly recommend Manili.

Everything was great.
