This hotel is perfect! It is at the outer edge of old town Chania, which means you can walk out the door and be right in the old city but it remains quiet at night. The whole hotel is beautifully designed, starting with the entry courtyard. It is a great place to have a coffee in the morning or bring a bottle of wine in the evening for a quiet night. The rooms are also beautiful, perfect size, and very clean. The hotel is not accessible by car, but you only need to walk to the end of 1 cobblestone street to reach it from Talos Square. There is no parking at the hotel but they have a few spots reserved in a small lot about a 5 minute walk away. I was amazed to get to stay in such a nice place for this price, especially in peak tourism season.

Nothing! I will say that if you are not able to climb stairs (with your luggage) this hotel is not for you. But that was no problem for my partner and I.

This hotel was exceptional, all of the extra little personal touches they thought of really made a difference. The bed was big and extremely comfortable. The rooms are all individually designed with their own theme and decorated with local art work/pottery. Everything was very clean and modern, including a powerful, hot shower. The location is ideal, you step right outside into the beautiful old town of Chania and you're only a few steps on to the port. However, the hotel was at a quiet end of town meaning zero noise disturbances. There are also excellent black out blinds making the room nice and dark as well as cool with the air con.

The only possible drawback that might not suit everyone is that there are lots of steps, unless you're staying on the ground floor then you'd be fine.

Staying at Aeliosin Chania was an absolute pleasure, and that’s largely thanks to Mr. Nikos, the owner. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel less like guests and more like old friends returning home. His warmth, genuine kindness, and attention to detail were the epitome of Greek hospitality. The hotel itself is amazing – spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, and full of charm. Its location couldn’t be better, right in the heart of Chania’s Old Town, with everything just a short stroll away. Whether it was sharing local tips, recommending hidden gems, or simply checking in to make sure everything was perfect, Mr. Nikos went above and beyond in every way. We left not only with wonderful memories of Chania, but with deep appreciation for the care and heart that Mr. Nikos puts into his hotel and his guests’ experiences. Highly, highly recommend

What a lovely place! This small hotel is actually a renovated house, but it feels so cozy and at the same time quite luxurious. Everything you could need is there, super clean, and really comfortable. The location is just perfect – only a couple of minutes walk to the harbour and the parking area, which made things so easy. The people running it are incredibly friendly and helpful, and that made the stay even nicer. It honestly felt like a little hidden gem, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting!

Everything was perfect

Possibly one of the best hotels in Chania. Amazing location, super comfy beds, and such a beautiful place — everything is so well decorated. The hosts really thought of every single detail and left the room fully equipped with anything you might need: sewing kit, feminine hygiene products, and so much more. The garden is absolutely stunning, and honestly, one of the best places I stayed at in Crete. But what really made the difference was the lovely host — such a kind and caring person. Highly, highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Aelios Apartment. The check-in process was smooth and welcoming, thanks to Paula, who greeted us warmly and even offered refreshments upon arrival. The apartment itself was clean and well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay. One small observation is that although slippers were mentioned as part of the amenities, they were not provided in the room. Additionally, the view from our specific room wasn’t particularly impressive. However, these minor points didn’t detract from an overall excellent experience. I highly recommend Aelios Apartment for anyone visiting Chania

Lovely and Helpful Staff. Very accommodating for any questions like where to go and eat. In the old town but in a very peaceful corner. Nicely decorated and constructed complex. Clean and homey room. Small touches in the room like feminine kits available. Coffee and water always refilled. Parking is a plus! And very much needed as it is very hard to find parking. Parking is about 5-7min walk. Do note that Parking is a problem in the city. Near to ports where you can start island hopping. You can even book on the spot. Souvenir and uniqe shops right outside. Olive oil and honey is much cheaper here than in duty free. The bakery down the street is a must try to. Spinach pie was still soft after hours.

At the edge of the old town of Chania, so very close to everything but still calm at night. Very kind owner who welcomed every new guest with a drink! The accommodation itself is spacious and consists of a sitting area, a bedroom and a modern bathroom.

The place itself is located in a small alleyway where cars cannot go. - This means you have to walk about 240m from the neares drop-off point at Talos Square. Anyway this shouldn't be an issue for most people.

Our stay at Aelios Hotel was relaxing from the minute we walked in. Paula and Nickolas made us very welcome. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location was superb and from the minute we left the hotel we were on the cobbled streets among the tavernas and little craft shops yet the hotel and courtyard was so quiet. A perfect stay in beautiful Chania Old Town. We will have to return.

The bedroom door couldn't be closed as the bed was in the way. Air conditioning in the bedroom was very loud, but we found a way to reduce the noise on a lower fan setting
