I very much enjoyed my stay at Villa Venezia. It was very clean and comfortable, perfectly located with stunning views (I hardly needed to leave my room with a view like that), very kind and helpful staff, a comfortable bed, good air-con, fast wi-fi, a perfectly adequate shower / bathroom and overall good value for money. I’d definitely recommend it.

The only minor things I’d say is the reception / corridors of the hotel are dated in their decor and need updating. The noise in the room is considerable at night yet to be expected given the very central location. Also the sound of hundreds of glass bottles being emptied into a recycling truck woke me around 5am ever morning but this is beyond the control of the hotel.

My host Dimitris was very responsive and kindly waited for as my flight arrived late into Chania. The accommodation was as described, simple, clean and located directly on the harbour. The bed was very comfortable and lots of lovely hot water. If you like historic surroundings, you're in the right location-I also like the added touch of a front entrance (the harbour) and the (side exist) leading to lovely cobbled backstreets were an extra treat!! Crete is easy: the National roads are good and there are plenty of bus options to other regions/day excursions. The main bus station being approx 15 walk to hotel. The are plenty of food options within steps away and the Greek hospitality is amazing as ever, wherever you go. An extra-thanks to Dimitris for all his support and advice share, its much appreciated. Location, close to everything. Tour pickup locations from local companies, were just a couple of minutes walk away in the Talos Square. I was able to leave my windows open every day/night. So many restaurants to choose from in walking distance. The team running the restaurant under the Room were so welcoming everyday Easy walk to the beaches to cool off

The staff at both the hotel and the restaurant were very friendly and accommodating. Maria, the housekeeper, makes sure you have everything you need, and the restaurant staff ensure you have a fabulous experience right by the water.

The hot water worked great until the last two days when more guests started to arrive. But even with that it was a great stay!

Quirky old building in central location. Budget accommodation.

An historic building but room needs serious modernisation. Who uses a hip-bath with high entry wall? Needs a shower. Big tv but nowhere to plug it in. Bedside lamps with no electricity sockets. Not suitable for people with mobility problems. - steep stairs. Help offered.

Dimitrius the owner was very helpful, great to communicate with and very flexible. The cleaner also did a great job everyday of cleaning our room which we tried to keep as tidy as possible.

Very minor but the steep stairs and that there was a window that opened into the room next door. We did not feel that it was 100% private and that the people next door could open the window and look onto the bed.

The manager, Dimitris, could not have been more accommodating. He went out of his way to make me feel at home and generously offered to drive me to my next hotel. Then spent half an hour patiently helping me find it. Wonderful, Cretan hospitality. The room had all the basics, including excellent air conditioning and a refrigerator. The price was right. Great value for a place right on the harbor!

The room was dark and needs some upgrading. Lots of stairs to navigate with a heavy suitcase. 'but Dimitri helped me with my bags.

Wonderful view. Ideal area that is close to everything. Having a stove and big refrigerator with freezer was a plus. Enjoyed the balcony but wished was a bit larger. We got there early and were able to check in early without a problem.

The shower head not mounted on the wall. You have to hold it when showering.

Amazing by location with a full view of the old port, the balcony was the best people watching spot and we had direct access via the steps. Out the back door was straight into the narrow streets of the old town. Room was clean and comfortable, somewhat dated but perfect for what we wanted. I worked from the room and the wifi was strong. Would stay again

The perfect break in the perfect location. The staff and the restaurant were excellent. The room, although traditional, was spotlessly clean. We look forward to returning again.

Couldn't fault it.
