Gorgeous apartment in the heart of old town Chania, and we were lucky enough to have a breathtaking water view! The room was gorgeous with an antique but still modern style, and the hidden gem is this divine, spacious shared balcony space, with dimly lit tables and chairs overlooking the Old Venetian port. This balcony and view is unique to this hotel only, and believe it’s not offered by any other hotel along the port. It’s a must!! Especially for after dinner drinks! My husband and I spent much time out there, watching the sunset and enjoying the ambience! Thank you Hotel Amphora!

Super comfortable, clean, spacious room. Complementary wine on arrival. “Augustino” was awesome. Great greeting us at arrival on a busy Sat. evening n helping w bags n parking. Super friendly. This was the last leg of long journeys for us so we were pretty brain dead LOL. Augustino was invaluable in planning our car travels for days excursions around your lovely island. He was happy to share the culture. Will definitely return here

Not a criticism…however other guests need to be aware: hotel is in old town so no vehicle parking there which translates to a long walk with your stuff. Plus many many stairs on the property which has various levels. Just wanting to advise any elderly or infirmed guests it would be a challenge.

What a lovely place to stay. You cannot beat the hotel for location, right in the centre of the town overlooking the harbour. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We had issues with our rental car (different company) and they helped us find a solution. Also, their recommendations for things to do were great. The breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choices for all our group but even better was the having our breakfast in the restaurant’s terrace overlooking the harbour.

Effie (spelling? sorry!) + Sophia were very kind in answering my questions with thoughtful answers + guidance. The breakfasts were very nice + unexpected! And a bonus that it all started so early int he morning. The woman i met who was cleaning staff was kind + considereate. I have been to Crete + Chania many times but this was this first staying your hotel. The main reason I decided to stay there was that i was leveling alone for the most part + wanted a place that i could always find when i got lost. i get lost a lot. I am now in Tres Ekklisies til mid October + then will be back into Chania for another week before heading back to the U.S. wishing i had made arraignments to stay at the Amphora, but others where made. Hope to be planning another extended stay next fall.

What a lovely place to travel to. There is something special about the Aphora Hotel - perfect setting, warm and consistently caring staff who are genuinley welcoming ( inlcuding the kitchen staff) who greated us with joy and went out of their way to make us feel at home. A real gem and will definately be coming back again..

Stayed for a week and there wasn't anywhere I could sit on a comforatble and relaxing chair or lounger (either inside or out) during the day . For breakfast you actually access the restaurant that I think also belongs to the Amphora but you could only use this for comforatble seating as long as you were having breakfast or buying a drink. Shade was very limited on the terrace so couldnt really use it until the evening

Excellent hotel, restaurant, staff in a great location. I will definitely come back here! I have been many times before and Greece and Crete but I will return going to Chania this is my number 1! Here there is staff immediately responsive to customers' needs, an excellent room, a brilliant public terrace overlooking the whole harbour. Breakfast varied with local produce and delicious freshly squeezed orange juice. Ordering dinner in the restaurant (highly recommended too) is - 10% discount for hotel guests. All the staff I met were very helpful and welcoming, but Effie and Augustino are brilliant: super professional and at the same time create a fantastic atmosphere.

We booked the family room and it was the most spectacular hotel room we have ever stayed in. The view from the room balcony is absolutely priceless. Not only was the view stunning the room was very clean and comfortable to stay in. The staff are all really nice and go out of their way to help you. The breakfast Buffett was spectacular, the variety of food was wonderful and there were so many options to choose from. The hotel is located in the centre of Chania town so it's walking distance to everything. Would absolutely recommend

Due to the location of the place the hotel doesn't have any parking which is difficult to deal with in the peak season

Location of the hotel was amazing and the breakfast was superb. Staff were particularly helpful and helped us with arranging our visit to walk the gorge, they helped us to find the information for the buses, ferry and also arranged for a packed lunch and breakfast. We definitely come back here again.

The only downside we experienced was that the room was on the third floor and the steps were very steep. On the plus side it was very quiet and we didn't hear any street noise. Also the view was superb.

Hotel is in a superb location, overlooking the Venetian harbour. There is a veranda, which we were able to use to have lunch and drinks. Breakfast is in the adjoining restaurant downstairs and has a fantastic spread of food. We were also able to ask for any additional food - extra crispy bacon for my son - and Cristina made us a special Cretan pie. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful and we cannot wait to come here again to this beautiful island and idyllic town

My only minor issue was that the hotel was difficult to locate - it is on a pedestrianised street and then down a side street

The Hotel is beautiful and full of charm, you'll feel like your staying in an Impressionist painting .The Staff are very friendly and helpful. The Location is superb and the views are absolutely stunning. My parents and I had an amazing time. Everything was easy and the hotel was very comfortable. I can't praise this hotel enough.

If they could introduce Tea/coffee making facilities in the bedrooms that would be good. An Elevator would have made an already excellent stay absolutely perfect.
