This renovated hotel was just beautiful, decorated in a simple yet elegant modern style. The bathroom was large with all amenities in good working order. Bathroom supplies, coffee, ironing board, iron, hair dryer, safe, fridge, coffee, tv, small rooftop patio and a beach towel were all included as well as a fresh and delicious, Greek-style breakfast. On a day that I went on a bus tour and had to leave early, I was able to receive a packed breakfast of focaccia with vegetables and fresh fruit the evening before. The location was superb, being in the Old Town and was close to the water, beach, shops, restaurants as well as walking and boat tours. Meeting bus excursion out of town was easy and just a short distance from the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I honestly cannot think of a thing!

No questions asked, a 10/10 stay! A beautifully appointed room with a cloud-like bed, luxurious touches, a balcony looking down on the most idyllic street, prime location, panoramic views from the rooftop, and great AC all made this a perfect stay. The room was quite spacious compared to other hotels in the old town. In addition to a king sized bed, we had a seating area and small balcony. It is on a relatively peaceful (less touristy feeling) street with plenty of shops, restaurants and cocktail bars all steps away. It is only a couple blocks away from the harbor, which makes a nice morning or evening stroll. The restaurant where you have the included breakfast is fabulous (it’s just across the street). Breakfast was absolutely delicious and they offer a discount for dinner for hotel guests too. We had one of our best meals of the trip there for dinner. The staff is all very friendly too!

The ONLY downside was finding parking near by. Vehicles are not permitted in the old town and relatively speaking this hotel is in the best location within the old town since it is closest to the nearest parking available, but the problem was the parking lots nearby (while free) were pretty packed. We were not able to find a spot there our first night (we were arriving around dinner time) so we had to park about 1/2 of a mile away in a parallel spot and walk with our suitcases. The next evening we returned in the early evening and had no problem getting a spot. This is absolutely no fault of the hotel since it is just a limitation of the area, but important to keep in mind if anyone in your party has mobility issues.

A wonderful boutique hotel located on one of the most picturesque streets in Old Town Chania. This newly opened hotel features seven rooms. We stayed in a double room with a small balcony overlooking the street, perfect for enjoying drinks and people-watching. Although the room was not very spacious, the large, comfortable bed made up for it. There was a minibar stocked with two bottles of water upon our arrival. The bathroom, though compact, had a very nice rain shower. The room and the hotel overall are beautifully designed, combining modern style with contemporary touches. À la carte breakfast was served at a nearby restaurant owned by the same proprietor, and both the food and service were exceptional. While the hotel does not have a reception, responses to questions via WhatsApp were very attentive.

Some noise could be heard from the hall way.

So well located, loved the balcony over the street. The room is beautiful, if our deluxe room a little small. Breakfasts were fabulous and we dined in the associated Kalderimi restaurant two nights of our four here. Again excellent. Thank you Judy for looking after us so well and to all the restaurant staff, and the wonderful cleaning lady - honestly you should have let me carry that suitcase downstairs!! But thank you.

It’s just great. I’ve said our room was a little small but very well appointed ( bigger options, bigger prices existed, but not on our dates).

Pro: the location is perfect, the staff is really helpful and friendly. You feel welcomed and taken care of. The building is very nice and well maintained. Breakfast is very good. But the breakfast bar closes on Sunday and the replacement bar is not on the same level.

Honestly not many negative things to write. Except the size of the single room is extremely small. I understand these are all buildings but for a stay of more than 2 days it was a bit uncomfortable. The shower and bed are amazing though and it was quite silent..

Casa Modiano is a peaceful place where home and art meets. Every detail has something special with calm well collected colors. Beds are like heaven with a beautiful bathroom. We extended hour stay here because of the high level of service and excelent standard of property. The perfect location gives you multiple options how to spend your day, both at the beach or among the shops. Staff has a warm heart with profecional perormance. Breakfast is another level of both taste and art. Highly recomended for much more than a hotel -an unforgetable expreience! Thank's for having us Most definitly coming back ❤️

Where to begin... Judi and her team were amazing from the start of our stay to the finish. We arrived around the Easter holiday (which we were not aware of prior to booking), and Judi was still very accommodating of our check-in timeline despite that. Casa Modiano itself is a beautiful place to stay, exactly as pictured. The ambiance is spectacular and the rooms are very clean, and include most everything you could need. It's nestled in a beautiful street, which if you arrange for gives you a wonderful ocean and thriving small street view. Included in our room was a breakfast at the equally beautiful restaurant Kalderimi with the food to match! We had the opportunity to chat with Judi during our breakfast to help make the most of our days in the area and she was a wealth of knowledge. Thank you a million times to Judi and her team for making this a stay in Chania to remember!

This is of course outside of control, but street parking can be a challenge... Just be both assertive and patient as many will say and you will find something. The only other criticism I may have is the texture of the sheets are not my preferred since I run hot at night, but they were certainly good quality and others may like them better. Keep in mind though you of course also have an AC unit to use if needed.

Great location in the old town on a picturesque street which was relatively quieter than many other streets which meant we weren’t kept awake at night with noise. Also on the very edge of where cars are allowed which meant a very short walk from being dropped off. The room was excellently appointed and beautifully decorated. Judith was extremely helpful and an absolute pleasure to speak to. The breakfast was healthy, tasty and plentiful. We had a brilliant time and would really recommend Casa Modiano!

We loved everything! People should be aware that staff are not on site. There isn’t a reception area, but Judith came and let us in when we arrived, and showed us around. The lack of reception and staff permanently based there didnt make a difference to us but it may to some, so worth mentioning here.

Judy our hostess provided a lovely welcome and couldn't do enough for us, including holding our cases on our last day so we could do one more walk around town. The room was lovely, stylish without being fussy and perfectly located. The daily breakfast was superb, and just a short walk from the room.

Our room was up two flights of stairs, which was a bit of a struggle with bags. But a second floor room meant that we had great views from our balcony, so not really a criticism.

This is a new hotel that is located in the heart of the old town part of Chania. My room was beautifully new and clean, with a comfortable bed and excellent pillows (two soft, two harder). It was very hot, but the air conditioning worked fine. The breakfast came with the room, and was about 30 metres down the street from the hotel. It was a fabulous breakfast: fruit, yogurt, granola, croissants, a big glass of orange juice, tea (or coffee), and a choice of omelet or sandwich. You can sit at a table outside on the street and take in the local atmosphere as you eat breakfast.

There are two things to be aware of. One is that the hotel is two stories high -- I was at the top floor, which required a walk upward of 40 stairs -- fine for me, but if you have trouble walking you should request a room at a lower level. The main possible disadvantage for some would be the start time of 8:30 AM for the breakfast -- this is not convenient for those attending meetings or events that begin not long after 9AM (as was the case for me). I would have loved to linger over breakfast for an hour, but my other commitments didn't allow it. Fortunately the service at the restaurant (Kalderimi) was excellent -- they helped me get a taxi for a 9AM pickup (or even a bit earlier) and even provided a bag so that I could take the parts of the breakfast that I couldn't eat!
