Wonderful people working at the hotel. Very beautiful, very authentic and yet comfortable environment. Soft beds, cold AC, nice liquor in the room. Antique, well-crafted furniture throughout the room and in the lobby. Books left by visitors on a bookcase one floor above the reception. Breakfast was hearty with strong espresso and unique jams and pastries and fresh bread and meats and salads and fruit and fresh juice. The location also is quite magical. Cobbled walkways wind around, you might find fig trees growing among ruins. Pick them! You can walk to beaches or right into the bustle of the old city.

We were greeted by a beautiful lady Roula who made us feel at home and treated us like family. Flora who also was another staff member always went above and beyond to help us just like Roula. The staff made our stay the best and the owners of this property should be very proud of the excellent service these ladies provide as it would not be the same without Roula and Flora. Roula was so warm and helpful and we actually thought Roula was the owner. Roula helped us organise excursions and packed us a breakfast box to take to our excursion. Roula advised of best travel options which were always economical and in our best interests. Flora always provided wonderful referrals of best places to eat which always exceeded our expectations. It was definately the staff that made our stay with Porto Del Colombo exceptional. The beautiful old building gave us a very good experience felt very homely and location was the best only steps into old town. Thank you wonderful ladies for making our stay one to be remembered forever.

Everything was just perfect nothing to dislike

I loved the exceptional location, the high ceiling fully renovated rooms with modern bathrooms and shower. The breakfast was amazing . The rooms were extremely clean. But I can’t praise enough the staff and their warm hospitality. Mrs. Argyro is a gem . Such a warm and kind hearted person . She made us feel at home. Mrs. Flora was the sweetest and most helpful host . They both went above and beyond to make sure our stay was not just comfortable, but truly memorable. Whether it was offering helpful local tips, assisting with special requests, or simply greeting us with genuine smiles each day, their hospitality made all the difference. It’s rare to find such a combination of professionalism and heartfelt care!! We couldn’t be happier with our stay in Chania and can’t wait to return.

Would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff, in particular, were welcoming and overall wonderful. They could not have done more for us. They even provided a packed breakfast for us in respect of an early start to a guided tour.

At 71 years of age, the only issue we had was climbing three flights of stairs each day after walking a considerable amount during each day; naturally, this would not be a problem for anyone younger. However, the wonderful features of this historic building far outweighed the lack of modern features such as a lift.

Property was centrally located in the harbour side and the staff was amazing. One of the best hospitality! All the staff at the breakfast reception team made the stay comfortable and welcoming!

It was a heritage property but the amenities like the blankets pillows etc could be upgraded . There is no duvet or a fluffed blanket - there are clean sheets one thick one thin that’s it There is a peculiar smell of the old carpets and no elevators. The room furniture made no sense - less room for luggage even after the room was large.

Beautiful, historic property in the heart of Chania. Excellent breakfast and gorgeous furnishings.

Keep in mind that you will need to lug your suitcase over cobblestone streets to get to the hotel. Plan where your taxi will drop you off ahead of time because cars are not permitted in the historic old town. We were on the top floor in a loft like room and climbing the stairs to the room — and then again in the room was tiring. This would be very difficult for anyone with a mobility issue or anyone out of shape. Also, there are taxis available at a nearby plaza all day — that is something that we were not informed of initially.

This is a beautifully maintained historic building. They provided a very yummy welcome drink and candy upon arrival and helped us get our luggage up the many stairs. We had an early tour one morning and they packed breakfast boxes for us and lent us beach towels for our excursion. They also provided a map of town and marked some great locations to check out. The shower was really spacious and had great water pressure. The bed was very comfortable. The views of the harbor from the room were gorgeous.

There are a LOT of stairs - not that this is a bad thing, they make it clear in the listing, but just know that both in the streets leading to the hotel and then once in the hotel there are lots and lots of stairs to climb. Wouldn’t advise for anyone with mobility issues.

Amazing staff, when we couldn’t make breakfast two of the days during our stay they packed a breakfast for us the night before! They walked us through the nuances of the room (as Americans this was much appreciated or we would not have understood how the windows worked!), and you are less than a minute from the port area where all the activity is happening! The car service the hotel arranged to pick us up from the airport when we asked brought the luggage from the drop off location to the hotel and up to the rooms for us, so that was a big plus.

A lot of stairs! But they are beautiful stairs and nice to look at as you wind your way up to your room.

We loved the location. Chania is very walkable and this was tucked in a nice quiet spot away from tourists, but truly only a minute or so from the action. The hosts were so helpful. We took several restaurant recommendations that were incredible. The breakfast assortment was a huge selling point and was always fresh. Having walked the entire area, we were so happy we booked this location.

I honestly can think of nothing. We loved it.

It is a lovely old building in the heart of the old town and the rooms are traditional which is nice. The breakfasts were very tasty too.,

We were on the top floor and there are 66 steep stairs to get there - narrow, curved and not very well lit so it was an effort to get up to the room, then there wete 10 more stairs from our room up to the bed!
