It is with certain reluctance that I write this review, purely from a selfish desire to keep Hotel Delfino a hidden treasure. To me, a hotel is more than just a place to rest; it significantly enhances my overall travel experience. And Hotel Delfino did exactly that, and more. Every member of staff radiated affable warmth, welcoming us whole-heartedly and giving invaluable insights about the must-visit places and activities around. We were fortunate enough to meet Margarita, the gracious owner, whose delightful surprise added a special touch to our stay, making it all the more memorable. This is not your typical hotel boasting conventional hotel amenities; it's a charming, converted mansion where each room tells a different story. I should mention, the rooms might not exactly mirror the booking photos which add an element of surprise and novelty to your stay. If you have specific needs or preferences, don't hesitate to drop an email or call up the property before booking to ensure your expectations are met. This hotel, its distinctive charm, and exemplary staff are too delightful to face any criticism borne out of unmet expectations. The hotel constitutes two separate structures; while one is equipped with an elevator, the second building requires a bit of stair-climbing. For us, a stay at the top floor, sans an elevator, added to the charm of the place, but perhaps this might pose a hurdle for some. Hence, it's worth discussing this in advance if it's a concern for you. We were fortunate to have discovered this gem and experience a perfect stay. We only hope we continue being this lucky and get to visit Hotel Delfino more often.

I think that adding a good qualify espresso machine for breakfast and having a skilled barista would bring the morning experience to the next level. We will definitely come again to check if you have listened :)

Everything. Best hotel in Crete. Location is perfect. The hotel cannot be more beautiful. More beautiful than most places in the city itself, it is a little paradise. One of the best hotel breakfasts that we ever had, and we travel often. Perfect mix of healthy options for me and sweet and local for my boyfriend. Also lots of gluten free and lactose free options. We had the spa& massage package for couples. Perfect. We go to spas often and the massage was to the level of top Europe spas. The staff has perfect English and are most polite and diligent, the dont forget you and the minimal details, like what you liked for breakfast the day prior. Most happy to help you out with anything. Recommend it 100%. We travel often and I don't always leave reviews but Casa Delfino was perfect.

3 of us stayed in the 2 room family suite for a week. Our arriving flights were canceled and delayed and then our luggage was lost… the hotel staff kept track of our flight arrival and made sure a car and driver was there to meet us and then phoned the airport every day until our bags arrived, picked them up and delivered them to our room while we were out. They also went out of their way to make or mom’s birthday extra special by getting her an ice cream cake and singing her happy birthday before we left for our yacht trip. Concierge: Alexander arranged for private tours and English speaking guides for the entire week. We went on a sunset swimming boat trip, Zeus’s cave and shepherds sanctuary, a foodie tour where we learned a live olive oil, cheese and other goodies and then the cherry on the cake… a daylong yacht trip to celebrate our mom’s 70th birthday… The room: it was stunning… it is actually 5 levels but it wasn’t difficult or awkward to get around inside. My brother had the king sized bed upstairs (top level ) and my mom and I slept on the twin beds downstairs. There were two bathrooms. One with a shower and the other with a jacuzzi tub and shower in one. My brother is a big guy 6’3 with giant feet and he sounded like a herd of elephants if he ran down the stairs but that’s the only sound we hear within the room. Beds were perfect… not too hard not too soft… water pressure and temperature were excellent. Breakfast: served in the courtyard and a good assortment of items. The staff was INCREDIBLY accommodating and had endless patience with a few guests that I personally wanted the smack upside the head because of how rude and entitled they behaved. Spa: we had 90 minute massages and hour-long full body detox treatments. The young ladies might look tiny and delicate but omg. They have hands of steel and the touch of butterflies… if you don’t book a spa treatment while staying…. You are totally missing out.

Nothing aside from the fact that I can’t live there forever

As a solo traveler, one of the best things that can happen at a hotel is that you’re made to feel comfortable and cared for. This hotel is absolutely top-notch. It’s run so well it’s so efficient and everyone literally everyone was kind and helpful. The recommendations for dinner we’re fantastic. I wish I would’ve gotten everybody’s names to put them down, but Maria was one person who was helpful. The hotel was beautiful, wonderful beds, beautiful sheets, and towels everything spic and span, I could not have asked for more. Great location, they really know what they were doing.

Very helpful staff, fantastic courtyard for the self service breakfast. Not a huge range of options for breakfast as no provision for cooked meal - scrambled eggs in a heated dish only. However, the quiet peaceful and tranquil location, just 50 yards from the busy harbour was a great way to start the day. The rooftop bar was also fantastic - great way to spend the late afternoon with superb views over city and harbour

We got a small room! We were there for 5 days - most people only seemed to spend one or two, so we thought we might have had something a bit more spacious. Only just about enough room for our cases to fit! That said - it was quiet and the bed comfortable. Lots of different rooms - some were large, some had balconies and some with terraces so if you are choosy then I suggest you contact hotel in advance to see what you are getting!

We had a pre arranged taxi that the hotel arranged from the airport who greeted us and took us to Chania Talos square, where we then greeted by the hotel golf cart who took our luggage and ourselves to the hotel. The airport transfer time is aprox 30mins dependant on traffic and time of day, from the square the hotel is minutes. Once checked in our luggage was taken to our room 4 with a balcony over the courtyard . The room as you walked in had a bathroom , seating area , wardrobe , fridge, coffee facilities , two view balconies small stairs to the queen size bed. We had a complimentary bottle of wine with baclava and a card which was a nice surprise. Breakfast is daily from 07:30- 11:00 in the beautiful courtyard, with a broad range of fresh fruit and home made delicacies to suit most appetites and if you would like an omelette for example it is not too much trouble for them to freshly make it. We made use of the hotel spa pre booked packages of sense of love and royal duet, the therapists are all physio therapists and the best massages we have experienced. The hotel has a roof top terrace accessed by a lift and a few steps where you have shaded area, table and chairs and lounges , there is a bar which is serviced late afternoon until late evening, however we made use of it during our down days and had it to ourselves and anything we wanted was not too much trouble. I celebrated my birthday and I had a surprise cake which was delicious. The bed was super comfortable with a turn down service, all the hotel is clean and tidy with too many to list of other detailed facilities , however on there website. The staff work as a team and very hard to make your stay to an impeccable standard. The owner is there daily and is always ensuring everything is meeting your needs. A special mention to all the staff from the bottom upwards, Chrissy, Anthonis and Maria etc .

We loved this hotel, it is stunning and every detail is perfection, great location. The staff was extremely gracious and helpful, answering all of our questions and recommending sights and restaurants. We were offered an exceptional upgrade and had the most beautiful suite with our own Hammam! The breakfast is generous and varied everything was delicious and fresh! Special thanks to Margarita, we hope to return again in the near future!

Everything! Beautiful place, clean and quiet Renovated in a very special and beautiful way. The view from the roof is spectacular. Excellent location in the alleys of the old city. A magical experience, lovely people, nice and welcoming! All the staff are so kind! Also the owner of the place is very pleasant and helpful. I wish we had more time! We will definitely recommend to everyone! 😁

There are a lot of stairs, even inside the rooms... but that's because the building is historic and old, actually a UNESCO conservation building. But it's so special so we forgave 😉

Breakfast was awesome with a good selection. Location was old town, and close to the water. We got upgraded to a suite so was super big. Chrissy was a superb lady, spent lot of time explaining the area, organized a rental car, suggested places to visit etc. Velisarios picked up our luggage from the old town area and carried to the hotel, was very pleasant, watch him as an upcoming soccer player. Kitchen staff was very helpful and pleasant.

This is a beautiful, family owned property in the heart of Chania, walking distance to the major sites, including the Venetian Harbor. The owners and staff are so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice stay in Chania. They even helped us with reservations for our New Years Eve dinner. Make sure to get a facial and/or massage from the spa, which is so relaxing. Our room was very comfortable, spacious, and nicely designed. We would absolutely stay here again.
