Truly the best place that we stayed in our trip to Greece! The room was delightful and felt very luxurious. When we entered the room we saw that they left us snacks, wine, and chocolate which felt very thoughtful. The view of the Venetian harbor was stunning, especially at night, and we could enjoy it both from the balcony and from the comfort of the room as the windows were very large. The decor in the room was really beautiful. It leans into the Venetian theme and if you are a lover of historical buildings you will love this. Additionally, the service was exceptional. They provided us a premade breakfast to take with us as we were going hiking very early the next morning and the sandwich they made for it was so good that I'm still thinking about it. The receptionist that we met, Zoe, was very friendly and helpful. On the morning of our checkout we met the owner's mother who was very warm-hearted. She offered us some fresh bread that she had picked up from a bakery that morning and it was wonderful. I can't recommend this place enough! I assure you that if you stay here you will fall in love with it!

The location is excellent, if you want to be right where the action is. I was concerned about the noise, but this ended up not being an issue at all. The bed was comfortable and the decorations were a little kitsch, but ultimately cute and cozy. Parking is free and very close. Would highly recommend for anyone staying in Chania.

The room is stunning, beautifully presented with some original brickwork. Plenty of room with amazing view over the harbour where you can watch the world go by. The rooms are above a nice restaurant but do not worry about noise, once you close the window, it is peaceful. You can catch the morning sun as you wake up and the stroll over the the far side of the harbour to enjoy a drink and watch the sun set beyond the lighthouse. Only a few minutes stroll to the old town restaurants. Breakfast was lovely on the harbour watching Chania wake up. We had a very early check out, really easy and staff booked a taxi that was on time.

We loved our stay at the Cretan Renaissance. It was a pleasant surprise and exceeded all our expectations! It's in the most central location for exploring the Old Town of Chania and the Venetian Harbour. A special mention to John (owner), his Mum and Zoe for their kindness and hospitality. All the staff were so lovely and helpful. The restaurant underneath the Cretan Renaissance is delicious, we even got 15% off our meal! We had the room with a balcony - amazing views! Would stay here again in a heartbeat. 10/10 recommend to anyone visiting Chania! :)

The hotel is several rooms above a popular restaurant on the Chania waterfront. We had two rooms - one had a beautiful sea view, the other had no real windows and a lot of steps between the bathroom and the bedroom. The breakfast was served in the restaurant and was excellent, though from a menu, rather than the usual buffet-style. Location was fantastic overlooking the beautiful Chania harbor. Staff were friendly and helpful. We ate dinner twice in the restaurant and it was excellent.

Not their fault...the wind and tides were so high when we arrived that the restaurant was flooded. Getting to the hotel door was an adventure. Parking is a real problem. Be ready to walk with your suitcases.

Good choice breakfast in restaurant below (all family run) Room large, well appointed, cool, comfortable, plenty of storage, quiet and superb view of venetian harbour. Staff super friendly and helpful. Vast choice of nearby restaurants and shops, easily walkable, no hills.

Only one criticism would be the jacuzzi bath set up. If showering, (hand held) the water tended to splash on the bath surround and floor requiring mopping up as there was no shower curtain, No problem if just using the bath/jacuzzi (which we didn't). But not really a problem.

The location is perfect for exploring the Venetian port. The hotel itself is on the water looking over the port. Our clean, elegantly appointed room had a balcony facing the port which was charming. We had our morning coffee and evening cocktails watching all the visitors to the port. The hotel went out of its way to welcome us with wine, chocolate and snacks. Every amenity we wanted was already provided before we could ask for it. The hotel provided a wonderful breakfast at the restaurant below the hotel. Communication with the hotel was efficient and complete. Their instructions for finding free parking very close to the hotel were perfect.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

This hotel definitely exceeded our expectations <3 ! The location is so wonderful! Sitting in the balcony of our room (Aretousa) and looking at the view of Venetian harbor was just out of this world. It was easy to get our car just around the corner to a free parking lot. Delicious breakfast was served to table in lovely Arismari restaurant. A perfect place for breakfast "with a view". Bed was perfect. Never had such good bed in any hotel! Stuff was so kind and wonderful. Throughout our stay it felt that the luxury was in smooth details which we highly appreciated. We both with my spouse agreed that this is the best hotel we have stayed in <3. It's small, very small, and therefor of course not everything available (like pool) that some bigger hotel would have, but in any case, this was just perfection <3 We would definitely recommend this! Our warmest thank you for John and whole personnel!

There were only one thing which could have been better :D In room, with coffee, there were no "milk" available. One small minus :D

Cretan Renaissance is not standard or typical hotel. There are only four perfectly designed and equipped suites located on first floor of historical, venetian building. Wonderful view to old harbour and ligthouse. The restaurant Arismari (where the breakfast is served) locadet underneath the level of hotel is also worth to be recommended. The staff – nothing to complain, friendy and helpful, interested in our stay and ready do solve any problems and troubles. Finding parking place close to hotel place sometimes could be a problem. There is public parking (Talo Squere, free of charge) but in midday it's difficult to find parking place. Generally Cretan Renaissance is place you wont to return.

It,s impossible to find any inconvenience.

My wife and I stayed in early April and found Hania to be amazing and charming, but the crown jewel was the hotel Cretan Renaissance. We thoroughly enjoyed our entire experience. The staff was super friendly and helpful, Zoe and John were very kind to us, and helped me book a last second snorkeling trip. The room was beyond expectations - with the best view in Hania - of the Venetian harbor - from our own private balcony and large French doors, a very comfortable bed, and a welcome bottle of wine. The bathroom was nicely decorated and the shower worked very well. The restaurant downstairs (same owners) is where breakfast is served, which was so outstanding we also ate dinner there multiple times (something we have never done at a hotel before). We could not have been happier with our stay and regretted having to leave.

we had a little trouble finding the place at first as the taxi cannot bring you through the "pedestrian only" zone, but this was very minor. I wish we could have stayed longer.
