Our stay at this hotel was nothing short of wonderful. The property itself is clean, stylish, and comfortable, offering everything needed for a relaxing and enjoyable visit. The rooms were well-maintained, the amenities excellent, and the location perfect—close to local attractions yet quiet enough to feel peaceful. What truly made the experience exceptional was the manager, From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Always approachable, kind, and attentive, tlshe helped us with the issues that we had. Her professionalism, combined with genuine care, turned a great hotel stay into an unforgettable experience. Overall, this is a fantastic hotel with an outstanding manager who sets the standard for hospitality. This is such a cozy old historic building with all the updated amenities you need. You could not get a better location in Chania, it has everything, history, great breakfast included, a great little outdoor seating area under a shaded leafy pergola that allows you to be tucked away to people watch when you are done exploring. You are located at the end of the busy tourist walking area, so you feel so private in such a busy atmosphere. Also easy to drag your luggage to. The decor is so charming, just the touch of Greece you need without feeling like you are at your grandmas house. The windows that open up to the view are just the spot to take some amazing photos from your room! The shower is hot and feels great after a beach day! If you rent a car, there is free public parking a two minute walk away, a public beach less than a 10 minute walk away. The staff is exceptional, so friendly and professional. Take advantage of their recommendations, it will change your experience in Chania! Always cold water in your fridge. Always a wonderful clean room.

The location was bang in the middle of the old town, next to the Maritime Museum and with a great view of the Venetian Old Harbour given the proximity (the restaurant is a few metres away from the waterfront). The breakfast was also really good and was a great way to start the day. The room was spacious and very clean, with a spotless ensuite bathroom and a comfortable bed. The staff was helpful and left us free water every day which was helpful given the summer heat. Would definitely come back again.

We had no issues with this ourselves but one must be aware that the property has no elevators and there are steep steps given that the hotel is found within a historic building.

Breakfast was outstanding - an à la carte menu with myriad choices, and the service was lovely and fast. The location is ideal - right by the marina, and you can see the marina from the outside breakfast patio! I was in the smallest single room, which was fine, but be prepared for no wiggle room. Also, not a lot of space to store your stuff. However, it was a full sized bathroom!

I would have preferred a larger room, but again, the value for money was great, and they were clear about the size of the room in the booking platform!

From the first moment I entered Alcanea hotel and was greeted by Eva, I felt welcome and happy. By far, this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The building is gorgeous, and full of character. The bed is so comfortable, the rooms pristine and have lovely toiletries. Lots of extra touches like coffee in the room, robes and slippers. Thank you to Eva and the wonderful staff for making my stay so memorable. This is my 2nd time in Alcanea and I will be back again.

By arrival we were met by the kind, professional staff. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed. The personel showed us to our room, explained everything we needed to know. The room was much more than we expected - and i was wonderfully surprised about the view from the big balcony. Even though we are in the center of Chania, it was completely quiet and peaceful. The view was beautiful even by morning, day and by night, where we could enjoy the view of the light house. Afterwards we went for a little walk around the hotel, and we were amazed by the hidden spots, corners and places to relax. The small "garden" or yard upstairs were for example something very very wonderful. And i can imagine how peaceful it would be to drink your morning coffee there.

Nothing. Except that the stay was too short. But we will of course come back again. Maybe off season - to enjoy a small getaway again.

Perfect location. I don’t think you could ask for a better location as it is still close to everything yet not too far from parking that you’re lugging your luggage though busy streets. Right near the water with a perfect patio for enjoying the views. Room and home were unique and comfortable. Fairly priced for stay which seems nearly impossible to find anymore and included a lovely breakfast. We wished we’d have stayed one more night.

Many stairs to access our room, three flights with the top two being very narrow at foot. I’m not sure if I missed it in the description, but I wasn’t aware. If I’d have shown up with my parents who we frequently travel with, they’d been unable to stay as they could never do those stairs, so just make note. Additionally, as we stayed only one night it was not worth it to bring all our luggage up I wish I’d have left it and brought only what we needed for just the night. Additionally, our shower was the only disappointing part of our stay. Bathroom is very nice, but we had been traveling long and really looked forward to a nice shower and there was very, very little pressure and it did not get above a lukewarm temperature.

We had the best holiday at Alcanea in Chania, Eva and team were so friendly, we had the best room with the most amazing view of the lighthouse! The breakfast every day was sublime. We could sit out all day and watch the view from the hotel cafe! We asked the hotel staff to arrange our taxi transfers to and from the airport for us. No issues whatsoever, it was the easiest journey without stress and fairly cheap! Thanks so much for making it a wonderful experience!

Beautiful large room with a large balcony in an old building in Chania old town. Looked out onto the lighthouse. Breakfast served in beautiful surroundings at the front of the hotel. Covered with grape vines and grapes. Super king-size bed too.

Stairs to the room were fine for us but if you have mobility issues you would struggle. Definitely not a problem if your are able enough though. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Kept in good contact via messaging.

Great location on the edge of the port which makes it easy to get to from the taxi stand. Beautiful old house and lovely little covered terrace outside from breakfast. Really the nicest place to stay and so happy that they accepted our small little dog! Was happy to have this escape from the otherwise v touristy Chania old town.

just be forewarned that there are stairs, so pack light.
