Arriving by motorcycle, we were initially nervous about the parking because the front drive is entirely gravel, which makes slow speed manoeuvring on a heavy motorcycle, a challenging thing. As we were the only bike, the manager very kindly allowed us to park the bike on a concrete hard standing area to the rear of the property. Thank you. Fate did rather intervene though, in that my wife broke her arm in a tumble outside on the road. We returned to Killeen House where the staff immediately swung into action! Highly competent, caring and helpful in getting her to a local Hospital. The manager also allowed us to leave the bike at the Hotel for a while until I am able to fly back and collect the machine. Service above and beyond anything you will get elsewhere - and a real comfort at a tough time.

This charming little hotel is located in the rolling hills just outside the vibrant town of Killarney. It is a beautiful old building from the mid 1800s, updated with many comforts in pleasing grounds. By far the most outstanding feature is the staff; a group of mainly young people dedicated to making one's stay as comfortable as possible. And always with a smile! Rooms are sizable and comfortable, and everything runs so well. Our little doggie made many friends from various parts of the world. Breakfast offers an enormous choice of continental dishes as well as ample-sized cooked variety, some very endearing.

The breakfast roster has been streamlined with bookings requested to ease the flow. Topping up needs to be more efficient as the various treats disappear! Dinner was equally pleasing and filling with a good wine list. Bar food was an option which encouraged great social mixing.

The staff were friendly the room was nice the beds comfortable found twin room spacious.

The dinner was a set menu sixty five euro for 3 courses bit pricey maybe some guests are only looking for mains. Change the orange juice for breakfast really awful. The rest of the breakfast was nice.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the breakfast staff. We didnt stay for dinner. We had a dog friendly room which worked out great, with dog treats available. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choices on the buffet table.

The bed duvet wasn't suitable for such hot and warm humid weather. It was far too heavy. Requested a lighter one, but that wasnt suitable either. Single bed wasnt that comfortable, mattress probably ? No tea making facilities available, except an electric kettle. No tea bags, coffee, milk sachets, which you would normally expect to be available.

Killeen House Hotel has an exceptional location with superb views from the garden to the MacGillycuddy Reeks. There is a magnificent viewing point further up the hill in Aghadoe, providing views over the Lakes of Killarney. The hotel is conveniently located for easy access to Killarney, the Gap of Dunloe, and the Ring of Kerry. The hotel itself is charming with beautifully decorated and well maintained public spaces and bedrooms. We visited as a family of four, with two young children, and found the environment to be welcoming and well set up for our needs. Our bedroom was spacious with plentiful storage and a sizable bathroom. During our stay, we enjoyed several breakfasts and evening meals at the hotel. We opted for the bar menu for dinner, which provided desired options for the children. All of the food was freshly prepared to a high standard, delicious, and beautifully presented. Sitting in the restaurant, eating breakfast, with a view of the mountains is a favoured holiday memory. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the staff team at Killeen House were all warm, welcoming, polite, professional, and ready to help in any way they could to ensure our stay was a pleasant one.

Our second visit to this rather magical place, where the welcome is genuine and warm in excellent rooms with great WiFi, a fabulous restaurant, excellent facilities. and excellent parking. We were greeted like family by "Jersey" the barman and welcomed to an excellent room by Eileen and her team. Nicely positioned for the Ring of Kerry and the drive round Slea Head. The absolute icing on the cake, was the kindness of the lady on reception who helped to clean the sand from many beaches, out of the footwells on the hire-car, with her Henry Hoover! Service absolutely above and beyond kind.

The staff were very welcoming and the furnishings and grounds were appealing. Parking was fine. Breakfast was made to order.

I was very surprised to be served chicken that was pink, with red blood oozing from it. A definite danger to health. I returned it to be rectified but then it was cooked so that it was too dry to eat. A drink was offered in compensation. We didn’t eat there the second night. Decaffeinated coffee was not available to make ourselves in our room but we could ask reception to bring one. A coach parked right outside our downstairs window on one night and a car-within inches of the windows. This woke us at 11 pm and 6 10 am when the coach moved. A quiet country hotel? The views were good.

This is a lovely hotel in a quiet location. It was a lot more modern than I was expecting and we were given great service by the young woman on reception. We ate at the restaurant in house that evening and although they told us they couldn't deliver our meals for hours because they had a big group in, the chef must have changed his mind because within minutes our meals were served which was nice. The garden was nice to sit in for an afternoon drink and overall we really enjoyed our stay. This is a great hotel.

This hotel is perfectly placed outside Killarney (in the countryside almost) and great if you are doing the Ring of Kerry. We were extremely and pleasantly surprised on it's restaurant. The Head Chef, Cyrille Durand, is exceptional and his menu was delightful. We had the most amazing evening meal and strongly recommend you book early to dine here. All the staff in the hotel were extremely helpful and very engaging. It all helped to make a wonderful birthday stay.
