It was exquisite, a very special stay. Paul and Annette were warm and the ultimate professionals, always making sure we were taken care of. The house is on Loch Lein and backdropped by the McGillicuddy Reeks mountain range so the views are stunning. I particularly LOVED the locale since it was literally minutes from everything (Gap of Dunloe, Carantoohil, Killarney’s city center, St. Mary’s Cathedral, Killarney National Park, the Franciscan Friary, the Muckross Spa…) yet not at “ground zero” so the retreat was peaceful and relaxing. There is comfortable lawn furniture as well, in the gardens for further relaxation and comfort. The hotel ALSO boasts a bar and restaurant which is quite superb. We LOVED our stay at Loch Lein.

I loved everything about our stay at Loch Lein. I would stay again for sure and highly recommend it to anyone staying in the Killarney area.

From the moment we arrived, we knew this was going to be something special. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel very much at home. The hotel is in a beautiful location with views over the lake to the mountains beyond. Our room, which was nicely furnished, was much bigger than we had imagined and contained an large ensuite bathroom, including a superb shower and bath. The small, cosy, well stocked bar and lounge area were ideal for a relaxing drink after a day's sightseeing or before dinner. Breakfast was exceptional with a varied menu and it was so nice to have the main course brought to the table, rather than having to serve oneself from a buffet style arrangement We had dinner twice during our stay and again, the quality of the food served was top class. Finally, the roles played by Paul and Annette and their staff cannot be overstated. From morning till night their cheery, attentive attitude was ever present adding to the enjoyment of our stay.

The hotel is in a delightful position, overlooking a lake. The hosts are lovely people, as are their staff. We felt very welcome the moment we arrived and that impression remained throughout our stay. The rooms were beautifully decorated and well appointed. There were comfortable places to sit and enjoy a drink and a perusal of all the interesting books placed on the tables. The food was outstanding and the attention of the staff left nothing to be desired. We would definitely recommend it to anyone because we know they would not be disappointed.

This place was exceptional. We stayed here for 3 nights and were given a huge room facing the lake. The room had a sofa and two armchairs. The huge bathroom had bath and shower and two basins. The restaurant was outstanding both for breakfast daily, and for the evening meal which we enjoyed twice after leisurely pre dinner drinks served on the lawn. The welcome by proprietors Paul and Annette was wonderful, and other staff - especially David and Jack in the bar area and restaurant were outstanding- friendly, providing useful tips on regional activities and local distilleries etc.

Initially there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room although a pot of tea was delivered to our room soon after arrival. We requested a kettle etc and this was immediately brought to our room with sufficient supplies to last our stay

This was our favorite stay in Ireland. The room was huge and the view of Loch Lein was to die for. Our room was on the first floor and was extremely quiet. Paul and Annette are charming and we loved talking to them. We had asked about glass cleaning supplies for our rental car and Paul was so kind he cleaned our windshield sometime during the night! So many breakfast choices and every single one we had was delicious. There are tables/chairs out on the lawn where you can enjoy a drink and take in the beauty of the surroundings. Paul recommended we visit Muckross House on our way out of town instead of what we had planned (given our time constraints) and we had a great time. Loved our stay with Annette/Paul!

Loch Lein House was absolutely stunning! The location was beautiful, and although very close to the town of Kilkenny, it was in a very quiet and peaceful surrounding. The views of the lake were gorgeous, and there was a lovely sheep farm at the end of road. A true Irish experience. We felt we were deep in the countryside, yet only minutes from the town. The property was also beautifully maintained and spotless clean. The staff were welcoming, professional, and helpful. Miss Annette and her husband run a perfect establishment and the breakfast was delicious, plentiful, and served in an elegant dining room. The service was superb. We would return to Loch Lein in a heartbeat next time we travel to County Kerry.

Big easily accessible car park reached by a short drive off the main road. A friendly welcome from Annette who showed us our huge room with a very comfortable bed and a big seating area. The en suite was large with twin basins, a bath and a walk in shower. The view out of the double aspect window was over open farmland with the lake and mountains in the distance. Breakfast was cooked to order and always delicious 😋. A really superlative room and stay!

We were very pleased with our stay at Loch Lein. The room was large and comfortable with nice linens and towels. The area was quiet for sleeping. There was a lovely room on the main floor for reading and relaxing, there was ample free parking. The location was very convenient as we continued on to Glencoe and scenic viewpoints. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was excellent with a wonderful view. Very attentive staff. The breakfast was included and also very good. We would certainly stay again

From the warm friendly welcome, to the large spotless, spacious cosy rooms, you will experience an outstanding quality experience. Ample free parking, grand, stylish decor, immaculately groomed gardens, fresh cut flowers, the list goes on. The hosts will do anything they can to make you feel welcome, serve you a great breakfast, give you travel tips and look after you. Highly recommend this for travellers with discerning taste!

No restaurant outside high season, making it a 30 min return trip to town and someone has to forgo the drinks. No kettle provided n room, but you can ask for one and it will be supplied?

Definitely a country club feel to the hotel. Good evening meal and breakfast. Very spacious and comfortable room. And the views are magnificent - though see below. Owners and staff are pleasant and efficient - with a definite sense of humour.

I should have preferred to eat without music - even if it is played at low volume. But I didn't ask for it to be turned off, so I don't know how any request might have been received. And the choice of music was just odd enough to be intriguing. It is also a shame that they have not managed to sort out their differences with the neighbouring farmer, whose land blocks access to the lake. Without knowing every detail, however, I can see no justification for blaming the hotel.
