I mentioned on my booking request it was for an anniversary and arrived to find the room containing a love lettered balloon on the wall, anniversary banner, nice written message on the mirror and a card with some haribo and free drinks voucher and faux rose petals. It was unexpected but so nice. Location is great and breakfast is great and also you can get free coffees anytime from the machines. Any staff we spoke to were nice and the place was well kept. Would definitely recommend and go back.

There was no conditioner provided, only shampoo. The variety on their menu is quite poor, hence we never ate there apart from breakfast but that's about it.

The staff upon arriving were very welcoming and made my little boys day when they spoke about Cadbury's World(the whole reason we visited) and pretended to be characters out of Willy Wonka. The hotel was very clean and tidy, although the room wasn't massive it had enough space for all 3 of us and was comfortable. There was a lot of choice for breakfast and it even shows you less busy times of breakfast. It was a short few minutes walk away from the city center so perfect for us

There is nothing I can think of which we didn't like as we had a comfortable nice 2 night stay here!

I love the location but mostly we love the staff. Amazing staff. Staying there feels like home. Not even just one or two, every single staff member was great. How do they look after us? Doesn't matter what time. They treat us like a family. They didn't let us feel like a guest. My kids get treated like family. But top-quality kitchen staff. Wow ❤️ Amazing 👏🏽 🤩 😍 My boy got hurt his self and had blood on his side of his pinky but how the kitchen management LINDA treated us wow as long as we stayed there every day they asked about my boy how he is and about his breakfast. Ask if my kids want anything else anything specially made for them and my daughter. My kids and my wife all loved it here. I would give 5 stars for all staff but I'll give 7 🌟 stars to the kitchen manager LINDA ✨️ if every manager is like LINDA so I would say No one can stop themselves from giving 5 5-star rating. I hope she'll become a Top manager because she knows how to treat their guests like family and handle situations and speak with amazing expression 👍🏽❤️👏🏽🤩😍 The family room has a beautiful view, beds were so comfortable and daily basis changed sheets new pillows and extra towels were provided. It was hot when we arrived but the air conditioning room cooled us down and we loved it and I hope in future we'll be back and recommend to everyone ❤️ 👍🏽 😊 Thanks to Holiday Express Birmingham city centre and BIG THANKS TO the kitchen staff and manager LINDA. Lots of good stuff such as great coffees & teas free of charge at any time, our choice of good-quality magazines (also free of charge), always someone available to help and the hotel's location is ideal. Very informal and easygoing. Also very clean. Welcoming.

Breakfast calls for one of you to always remain at your table - otherwise they clear away your hot drinks and your juice while you're away getting your bacon & eggs! This is not only wasteful and inconvenient but also means getting and eating breakfast becomes somewhat drawn-out.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect – just one block from the library and very close to bus stops, so everything is easy to reach. The breakfast, although the same every day, was very tasty and well prepared. By following the traffic light system we always avoided peak times and easily found a table. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom amenities were of good quality, and the staff was outstanding. They even allowed us to check in early at 1 pm, which was a big plus. Another great detail is that if you are in a rush, they provide bags so you can take your breakfast with you. Overall, an excellent experience – highly recommended!

Location. Quiet, hardly any noise from traffic. Clean comfortable bed, love the pillow options. Tea/coffee facilities in room. Dove products in bathroom was a winner. Soft towels, great shower. A great asset was that if you had forgotten an essential toiletry item e.g toothbrush, razor etc… the hotel supplies them free of charge. Free magazines available at breakfast. A good choice of hot/cold breakfast too.

More staff needed in the bar area. Some tables were dirty which wasn’t nice when having a drink in the evening. We asked if hot food was available later in the evening after our night out. We were reassured that pizza was available until 4am. We returned just before midnight to be told there was no pizza. The only thing available was crisps and chocolate, which was disappointing. This isn’t the first time this has happened to us, the last stay at a Holiday Inn in London a few weeks ago, food was promised for the later evening and again none were available when we returned from our night out; which was well before midnight. For a hotel of this size, having room service, or bar service offering sandwiches or pizza is what I would expect.

The room was clean. The beds were comfy. Wonderful shower and toiletries, Dove products, were lovely.

After long journey we didn't want to go out to eat. Decided to order from the bar menu. Restricted choices. Very simple menu, only a few items on offer. Food was not good. Items missing, food cold, presented to our table in an awful manner by a female member of staff. Waited for the side orders to arrive, but they never materialised. Husband had to go up to ask for them, twice, to no avail. The already lukewarm main course subsequently went cold. Managed to get a refund for the terrible food. Maybe the company shouldn't bother offering food. I do not recommend purchasing anything to eat.

We arrived an hour before check in time and asked on the off chance if we could check. The very helpful lady on reception said our room was ready which was great. The room was clean tidy and modern looking. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spotless and modern. The location was excellent not far from the railway station or concert arena.

There was only 3 tea bags in the room on arrival so after coming back from our concert asked if we could have more. We wwere directed to the breakfast area. There were plenty of tea bags but the lady in front took a large handful of milk cartons meaning there was none available. Whilst the breakfast was good there was only a limited food option but for a one night stay this was fine.

Very reasonably priced, good central location. All staff were excellent. Check in easy, friendly and professional.

Clean but tired accommodation, carpet stains etc. But for the price, acceptable. Excited to have a view on the 15th floor but directly opposite glass walled offices so had to keep the curtains shut for privacy... no city view anyway.

Cleanliness throughout, secure entry with lifts operated by room card only. Room spotless, comfortable, welcoming and had everything I would need. Breakfast was wonderful, covers all dietary needs and choices, staff exceptionally helpful and polite. If travelling to Birmingham again I would re-book.

The parking, but this is NOT the fault of the hotel. There is a carpark monitored by barriers adjacent to the hotel but on entering there are photocopied notices stuck inside the entrance access barriers stating something like "car park for Crown Plaza customer's only". Luckily nobody was behind and I could reverse back out. I parked in limited duration roadside public parking opposite whilst I checked-in. However, on entering the lifts there are notices saying you are entitled to discounted parking in this carpark so I would suggest that the notices posted in the carpark are incorrect and need to reflect this.
