Good stay. The location is perfect when traveling to or from Gatwick airport. A simple, short walk into the terminal from the train. The check in staff was friendly and helpful. There is access to several stores and resturants in the airport before the security check. You can also easily take a train or bus into London. The room was clean and although small it was comfortable. Free hot drinks and coffee were available on the floor. We'd recommend staying here if you have an early or late Gatwick flight.

We had an early morning flight so decided to get to Gatwick the previous day and stop at the Bloc hotel to get some decent sleep - it was a good decision! The room was not big (but then we did not need a big room for one night), it's quite sound proof (I was worried airport can be noisy). There is a shared room with a hot drinks machine, hot chocolate is actually nice! There are a few cafes and restaurants in the terminal that offer discounts if yo stay at Bloc. And it's perfect for morning flights, the hotel is in the terminal building so it's very close to the check-in area.

The communications are a bit intense, before arrival I think I got messages via SMS, whatsapp, booking and email (or at least 3 of those) trying to tell me the same thing, I could do with just one means of communicating.

Very convenient easy to check in to hotel and find at airport terminal as inside. Had a very early flight so was perfect. Good shower with toiletries and comfortable bed with access to hot drinks.

Very convenient as it’s in the departures terminal. However, the room is only 10m2 as advertised, not enough room to swing a cat. Bed is very comfortable and had a good night’s sleep.

Great location for an early flight, love that it was in the terminal. Had been debating between the different airport hotel chains but settled on this for the combo of ease/proximity and price! Liked the minimalism of it, had everything I needed too. Bed was also super comfy. The tablet was confusing to use at first re the air con, maybe some guidance somewhere could’ve been helpful (if there was I missed it)

The wet room style bathroom was a bit annoying albeit nice looking, but nothing a towel on the floor couldn’t solve (as you get wet feet if you need to use the toilet after having a shower). A small issue though. Could benefit from a hook for towels near/on the door. I wish wake up calls were at option – (via mobile?), as I was a solo traveller and paranoid about missing my flight! Luckily my 7 alarms worked and I had a family member ring me who was in a different time zone! Better coffee in the communal coffee area perhaps, if I was being extra picky 😅 I did just get on in the terminal anyway.

The location is excellent, and the staff were very polite, cheerful and helpful. If you want a place to sleep that's near to the airport, this is it! You're something like 5 minutes away from the check-in counters. And the staff make you feel welcome and the rooms are very clean. So kudos to the staff.

This is my second review of them, and the last time I gave a review, the marketing person at Bloc got a little snippy when I mentioned how small the rooms were. They took my comment as an accusation of misrepresenting the size of their rooms, which I wasn't. I was just saying, that, although I shouldn't mention it, the rooms are small. :-) If you can take one of the better rooms, which I did this time, they are more comfortable. And even though I'd stay here again, the rooms are small . . . :-) BUT, what can you do? You're IN the airport, so zero complaints! All good.

The 'Bloc' hotel is very unique. It resembles a Japanese pod style hotel, due to the small and all-in-one nature. I have stayed here before, and it meets and exceeds my expectations. It's clean, modern, comfy and cosy. If you're just trying to rest your head before a flight I would recommend it. If you're staying longer than two days, I'd look to the Premier Inn or similar as it's a bit small and claustrophobic for long term accommodation. The smart room controls are a bonus, you can control the lighting, HVAC and blinds from your bedside control panel, or mobile telephone.

- Shower The shower and toilet are all in one, so if you do shower. You'll find that the toilet gets damp, and the toilet roll ruined by humidity from the shower. It also takes ages to dry, which can make a trip to the toilet a bit wet/uncomfortable. - H.V.A.C/AC The controls for the heating and air conditioning are a bit vague. It's just a blue bar, that is meant to signify the temperature without the actual temperature. So you end up being too hot or too cold. I wish it had a temperature gauge you could adjust. - Accessibility It's very ambiguous and vague as to how you access the Bloc hotel from South Terminal. I would recommend getting better signage/instructions on how to access.

The room is lovely and comfortable. The best thing for me is that sound proofing. I love the bathrooms and wet rooms in this hotel.

I think it would be nice to have a breakfast service or, at least, to have some kind of protocol with one or a few restaurants in the terminal for the guest to have the breakfast, or at least a discount.

They have upgraded the TVs since my last stay, so you can now sign into your Netflix account. Given that there were no runway view rooms available and my specific needs, this was extremely welcome as were the extra channels available (you can also sign into YouTube and Disney+, Prime etc). I'm awaiting spinal surgery, I was thoughtfully placed very near to the lifts which made a lot of difference for me. I also was able to access a room right away despite arriving at 11.45AM which took the sting out of needing to be out of there well before 5am. Very grateful for that, it meant I could rest my back after travelling. Really like that once you are settled it's very easy to get last minute shopping, dining options and crucially for me getting to the assisted travel deal for the South Terminal is extremely important (though on this occasion I was flying from the North Terminal but they took me there anyway).

I'm not a fan of their bathrooms, the whole floor gets wet and it's a usage of a towel right away to blot up the water. Always feel like I could slip i also don't enjoy the mirror wall much though I should imagine the more exhibitionistic type of person really really enjoys it.

Staff were so friendly and helpful. We had an insane amount of stuff and the staff member showed concern for whether we would fit it in the small room and asked if we wanted to pay for an upgrade to a bigger room. Our stuff actually fit in quite easily but it was nice to be going to the room knowing there was an option if it was just tooo small. She wasnt pushy just perfectly helpful. Perfect location easy to find.

Said it was a smart tv but didnt seem to have netflix or any other streaming service. We may have been spoiled by japan to expect this but it would have been nice to be able to sign into our own streaming accounts on the tv... or at least have a hdmi cable so we could plug our laptop in. I'm not convinced the wet room set up for the tiny toilet works the toilet paper got really wet. Not sure how you would remedy that but it wssnt ideal. Storage solutions in the room were great boxes at end of bed and space under bed to shove stuff.
