The location is perfect, from the second floor bar/breakfast you can see the whole of Piazza della Signoria, and walk there in less than a minute. We had an hour or two to kill before leaving for the airport, there was no problem using the space, and indeed enjoying a complimentary coffee and pastries left over from breakfast. The breakfast is excellent, with good egg options cooked to order, if required. The Wi-Fi is good. Although very central we were not troubled by noise.

Our room had a small ‘loft’ area accessed via a narrow staircase, awkward to use. There was a couch, useful for putting one’s feet up, a small table and then the coffee making kit. There was no milk, and although there were ‘tea’ bags no obvious means of brewing. Someone hadn’t thought it through. The bathroom was new, a large shower, large basin, a bidet, it was all there except nowhere to put wash bags etc. Someone had designed nice things but hadn’t thought about the people who were going to use it. Given the other space, the bedroom itself was very compact with nowhere to unpack suitcases. The wardrobe was furnished with just two hangers.

I loved the location of the hotel, the rooms are very spacious, and the staff was extremely, helpful and responsive to any request we had. They made some excellent recommendation for meals and made arrangements for a 5:00am car for our trip to the airport. Not only did they make arrangements for a car pick-up but also packed a nice bagged breakfast since we would be misusing it that morning. Wonderful staff!

It was a little strange arriving that the entrance is not off of a main square or road. It’s in a narrow alley/walkway but now that I understand the area better it wasn’t a problem. Many business entrances (shops & restaurants) are accessed thru small alleys/walkways.

You couldn’t find a better location if you tried. It was a bit challenging to find in the narrow little streets but that was part of the charm. When we arrived, the buzzer wasn’t working and we thought we just didn’t understand that we were expected to phone for access or something. We finally got in when other guests came out. Elevator worked well. we had room 207 near the reception desk. kitchen & breakfast room. Claudia was very kind and gave us a little orientation of the room. Beds were very comfortable and room was quiet. The breakfast was absolutely amazing … freshly baked/cooked quality and ample quantity of delicious food. They even knew that Canadians/Americans don’t eat our eggs runny. Whatever coffee or tea you wanted was yours for the asking. The breakfast room looks right out on Piazza della Signoria and the Palazzo Vecchio & Neptune fountain! With just a little imagination you could feel like you were a lesser noble who lives near the Medici family and their home & office (uffizi)… and yes. the Uffizi galleries are right there also!

We had one tiny problem. Both of us gave our head a good bash on the fireplace-like ceiling treatment above the bed. There were tassels on the armoire knobs that should be hanging on either side of this low-hanging ceiling feature. Oh, and we are not tall people. (See photos)

Great location Right next to Uffizi Gallery Rooms were well equipped and good size Liquid hand soap in the bathrooms. Bravo! This is rare in hotels

No direct car access No kettle Wifi and AC not great upstairs in the family suite Breakfast options could improve (add cut fruits and there were no bread /croissant refills when they ran out) Bed mattresses were soft No holder for shampoo , shower gel in the showers. You have to keep on the floor and bend down each time.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. All major Florence sights are within easy walking distance, and you can have a gorgeous view of the piazza from the lounge/ breakfast room. The hotel has been recently remodeled, so everything feels news. It's super comfortable and tasteful. Good breakfast.

Staff, especially the ladies in the breakfast area, were quite unfriendly. This wasn't just our experience because we could see others were annoyed with too. It's surprising to get this sort of rude service in Firenze where almost everyone is so tourist friendly.

I usually take some time before chosing a place for my stay reading the reviews, so I think I knew what to expect. However, I was astonished by the location, the breakfast window overlooks the Piazza Signoria, and is on the back of the Uffizzi Gallerie, so close to almost all key attractions in Florence. The room we were offered was on the third floor, seems to be recently refurbished, stylish, very comfortable, with a beautiful bathroom and a bath in the main room as well. I can tell you I do not remember such a comfortable mattress. We had really good night sleep all through our stay. The breakfasts, contrary to the general standard of Italian hotels, were above the average, you select from the menu several things among, scrambled eggs, omelette, pancakes and more that are included in the price or you may select the kind of breakfast of your choice (paid option), plus plenty to rolls, croissants (sweet and savory), cakes, rolls, fresh orange juice, tea coffee, more than you might need. Really good, The staff so friendly and nice, the same goes for the receptionists, welcoming us quite late after our flight was four hours later. The place worth the money, daily cleaning of the room and most of all so close that you can drop into the hotel to rest and change before dinner. May nice restaurants in the back streets worth visiting as well.

On the second day we experienced a problem with the heating (AC stopped working). Although it was not cold, because of the rain it got chilly. As the staff could not do anything about it, and as the next day it was Sunday so no service could be called, they offered us a change of the rooms to even a higher standard. We declined the offer as we did not feel to pack again and move. Fortunately, the next day it magically started working again and everything was fine. Anyway, we appreciated the offer, which is a nice way to handle situations.

Centrally located, comfortable room, well appointed with many amenities. Steps from the center of Florence. Staff were super welcoming and helpful; looking after all of your needs. Tasty breakfast baked fresh. Huge room, with a modern style. Mere minutes to many many great restaurants and all of the sights of this great Tuscan city.

The center of Florence is NOT car friendly. The hotel offers a decent garage solution but I ended up deciding to not use it due to the hassle. Unfortunately, in the common areas of the hotel, there was a slight sewer smell which lingered for the 4 days I was there.

excellent location of the hotel, nice design, everything is quite new and looks in a pleasant Italian style. breakfasts are not served as a buffet, so there are only desserts, and the other dishes you order from the menu - the granola was very tasty, the first day I didn’t have breakfast because I wasn’t feeling well, and unfortunately didn’t try anything else

there is no bottled water in the rooms, for a hotel that positions itself as 4* - this is strange, in my opinion. There is a problem with hot water - lukewarm water flows from the tap and shower, this is definitely a problem in winter. I stayed there for two nights, and after the first night the maid didn’t clean my room. perhaps, since I left the room late and until ~12 there was a “do not disturb” sign, and the “clean me up” signs were not available in the room. There was a problem with calling a taxi, the reception called one for me, but I never found it, and since there was no time to figure it out, I had to run to the station (I recommend making a map with a point for both taxis and guest)

- not accessible by car. - try to avoid rooms & suites in 3rd floor, we got upgraded to junior suite(which is highly appreciated) but unfortunately our stay wasn’t good because NO heating system and hot water is almost not available. We were literally freezing. Then we moved to deluxe room in 1st floor, everything was great.

The property was beautiful. The refurbishment from an old castle to a hotel was so well done. All the comforts while still being able to detect the history in the building. The location is excellent. It’s right by the Palazzo de signoria which has the Palazzo Vecchio and the Uffizi museum and is a short walk to the Duomo.

We visited during a heat wave and the hotels air conditioning was not able to keep the room cool. We spent a few very uncomfortable nights - although we were provided a fan which helped somewhat. After 4 nights they finally had someone come in to fix the AC unit and our last night at the hotel was blissfully cool. Unfortunately the staff did not seem to feel any urgency in fixing the situation and we received a few different responses about what was wrong with it.
