wow! There were so many things we enjoyed at Villa Santa Chiara! First, we were greeted by the proprietor, Mario. He welcomed us, directed us to parking convenient for transferring our luggage and gave us a tour of the grounds and described some of the area attractions and dining options. A fine welcome. The property is very nicely maintained and there are convenient and shaded seating options outside, perfect for a glass of wine and discussions about things to do in Siena. We very much enjoyed the convenience of a short walk up to Porta Romana to historic Siena for dining and sightseeing. We had eight days to relax and appreciate the pleasures of Siena and Tuscany. The villa is just stunning and in a perfect location with the city ten minutes walk away but a beautiful countryside feel. Even had a ‘wow’ from our taxi driver as he drove us up the cypress lined driveway to see such a beautiful traditional property that looked so well maintained and quintessentially Tuscan. Very well equipped in traditional furniture with some modern touches. Mario and Anna were the perfect hosts with lots of helpful information and very welcoming. Anna’s daughter Claudia was a fantastic tour guide and went above and beyond with helpful hints and tips for our stay. Her love for Siena and her heritage was inspiring. We rented 2 apartments as a group of 7 ladies on a special holiday and couldn’t have asked for a lovelier place to spend it.

This property is truly magical. You enter through a beautiful locked gate and tree lined driveway. The grounds are so beautiful and so well maintained. As soon as we arrived, we wished we were staying longer than 3 days. The pool has a magnificent view and the center of Siena is just a quick walk. Anna and Mario really went out of their way to help us with everything. My husband had left his sunglasses in our car rental, and Mario was so nice to go and pick them up for us as we had already left Siena. I would highly recommend taking a tour of Siena with Anna's daughter, Claudia. She is so passionate about Siena and it's history and traditions that still remain. I highly recommend Villa Santa Chiara, and we will definitely stay there again and again when we are in Siena.

There was nothing not to like!!

It was stunning! What you imagine a Tuscan villa to be like in the middle of the countryside yet you can walk to Siena town in 20 mins. The grounds, the view from our window, the cats, geese and chickens pottering about, the pool area, the smell of Jasmine flowers, the hosts who went above and beyond (even getting rid of a spider for us!). The aircon, the showers, the comfy beds, the welcome package, the fiat 500, the shaded parking.

That I had to leave.

The property is beautiful, has everything you need and more. The pool was large with plenty of sun beds, the gardens were beautiful and a great place to relax of an evening with a glass of wine or 2. It’s a 15 minute walk into the heart of the old town and there is a fantastic little Bottega just down the road which had the tastiest food and all the other essentials you need.

The location is excellent and just a 20 minute walk uphill from the Campo. We loved that we could come back to such a peaceful and rural spot after seeing the wonderful sights of Siena. Anna and Mario were kind, welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts. We loved the immaculate pool area and the air conditioning in the bedroom was much needed in the current heatwave. The gardens are beautiful, and we loved picking fresh herbs to enhance our cooking. Lots to love about this place.

The excellent location comes at a premium! A very minor point, but to watch TV in comfort required moving the furniture around a little.

Hosts were exceptionally warm, welcoming, helpful. Property was absolutely gorgeous, with lots of little interesting history and points of interest. We enjoyed a guided tour of the surroundings with the licensed tour guide in the family, as well as great recommendations of a nearby winery tour.

Mario was so helpful and available at all times. The family stays in other parts of the villa and make you feel part of their family rather than paying guests. We were here 9 years ago and left wondering why it's taken so long to return.

Beautiful property growing olive trees and producing olive oil. Very close to Sienna and you can reach the city gates and within 10minutes and it only takes about 15-20minutes to walk to the center from the property. Rooms were very spacious. We would highly recommend.

Quiet, beautiful views, short walk from the center of Siena. Lovely house, great pool, dining/bbq area, garden loungers, olive groves. Lovely owners who were so helpful with everything including finding restaurants, culture (hidden gems), and wine tours.
