Exceptional location, private beach, pool and the cave system leading to the restaurant give this hotel a completely unique and romantic feel. The views from the room across the bay and towards Etna are simply incredible. On-site restaurant and bar were also great. Facilities were very good: gym, pool, plenty of staff all around the hotel. They even have a free shuttle bus service to take you up to Taormina village. This is not walkable but personally I felt it was better to be near the beach / sea then go up to the town in the evening to see the shops / restaurants / atmosphere.

We really enjoyed the breakfast however it felt like they were slightly understaffed. For example, there is only one coffee machine which the waiters use to make coffees, we had to ask multiple times and wait a long time to get even one hot drink. This was the only bad thing about the breakfast service. Everything else is great - food quality, variety and the views from the breakfast room.

It's an iconic hotel in the most exquisite setting overlooking the sea and Isola Bella on one side and Mount Etna on the other. The private beach was absolutely heavenly and never too busy when we went down there. The pool was also incredible and the beach bar served excellent cocktails and snacks. Again, we could always find a spot around the pool any time of the day. Our room was super spacious and comfortable with gorgeous sea views from our balcony. Something that added a lot of value to our stay there was the complimentary shuttle to and from the town centre - extremely handy and saved us an arm and a leg in cab fare.

Some of the furnishings in the room is looking a little tired and could do with an update. But that's me being really fussy now.

A great hotel in a fabulous location. The architecture / caves / beach and pool area are quirky and interesting. However what makes this gem of a hotel are the staff. They are extraordinarily kind, fun and helpful. We were made to feel special. Our room was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was excellent. We tried all the bars and restaurants - all excellent and we felt a great price point for the location. Shuttle bus is great into the main town - we had no problems booking it. What a privilege to sit and look at Mount Etna. We will definitely return.

Nothing to criticise - enjoy the hotel. It’s quirky and has so much charm.

Beating setting. Great views

Italian hotels are sort of weird. A bit. This is. And whilst the staff so nice. Particularly Dan’s team at the pool and reception. When we arrived. After flight and drive. The lady in the car park was. Well. Just awful. Suggesting we needed to go to reception to get something when we had been fed down a wierd corkscrew drive to park. She was not the reception that the hotel would or should be proud of. After that. The parking boys were first class. Shame when just arriving that an unfriendly lady greats. It takes some time to get over that.

Loved the location, how quiet and fun it was. We had an amazing view of Mt. Etna (which erupted our last night, what a send off!) The pool and beach were so relaxing. The amenities were amazing, from the breakfast spread, to the gym, shuttles to Porto Messina and much more. Filipo’s exercise class in the mornings were an amazing way to start the day and feel refreshed. He brings great energy and very intelligent, funny personal trainer. Highly recommend using his classes!

Nothing, all was amazing!

Stunning views from the balcony in the room and most parts of the hotel of the ocean and Etna. Great to be able to swim from a private beach and in a lovely pool - the trade off of being by the sea is being away from the centre of Taormina with all the restaurants etc - but they provide a regular free shuttle bus to go up the hill to the centre so I think the trade off is worth it. Really lovely on the travel desk booking trips. Amazing breakfast.

It was incredibly expensive even by Taormina standards, which I only booked because I travelled alone last minute and on a milestone birthday. Eating options in the evening were mainly limited to the very expensive restaurant you have to prebook or a short snack menu in the bar - so you do really have to go up into town.

Hotel is below Taormina and is close to the water as such it is a way from the town's hustle and bustle. It has its own beach and also a large swimming pool. The sun leaves the beach around noon however the pool gets sun most of the day. You can also swim in the ocean in an enclosed area by the pool. Excellent views of Mt Etna and the coastline. There is a free shuttle bus to the town at the top of the hill / town which you can book with reception. All staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast choices are extensive . Food in the restaurants was good.

The hotel is somewhat dated and could do with a refresh for some of its furnishings. IT is slow and patchy.

This hotel setting is absolutely beautiful. The beach and pool are incredible. I had read before that the rooms aren’t modern - which is true, but they were perfectly clean and comfortable so I didn’t see this as an issue. I’d recommend getting a room with a sea view as this was lovely. The pool bar did a light bite for lunch at €10 for a sandwich which seemed reasonable for the location. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice and a beautiful view to sit and eat it. The shuttle bus to town is really useful - we didn’t have any problems getting tickets but would recommend booking in the morning.

The bathroom wasn’t practical to use with a shower that caused the whole floor to be soaked every time it was used. Cocktails at the bar were quite expensive(€16-20) but were lovely.

The pool and beach are amazing. The breakfast buffet is delicious with a wide variety of choices. The views from the hotel are gorgeous. The size of the room was really big with a sea view. The free shuttle to the town was helpful.

It is a very noisy hotel. Our room was located under the restaurant and we were woken up every morning by chairs dragging above us. The walls are extremely thin and we could hear the room next door. The rooms need to be sound proofed. The air con was hit and miss. It would randomly shut off and we couldn’t get it back on.

Our stay at UNAHOTELS Capotaormina was truly unforgettable! The hotel offers breathtaking views, an excellent location, and top-notch service. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the private beach access adds an extra touch of exclusivity and relaxation. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Roberta, who went above and beyond to make my wife's birthday celebration absolutely perfect. She took care of every detail with grace, professionalism, and genuine warmth-from the decorations to the dinner. Thanks to her, the event exceeded all our expectations and became a beautiful memory we'll cherish forever.
