We had a lovely stay for our anniversary weekend. The location was only a short drive away from the city centre and the zoo. When we checked in the lovely manager gave us a room upgrade to a gorgeous suite (I'd originally booked a standard room.) It was a beautiful room with a lovely countryside view from the balcony. The cleanliness was top notch, I can be very picky but everything was spotless. The bathroom was modern and relaxing with a huge shower and bath tub. The beds were incredibly comfortable, especially after a long day of travelling and exploring - my partner told me it was one of the best sleeps they've had. I would recommend this hotel, I would love to visit again to use their spa facilities. A massive thank you for making this a special weekend to remember

The only inconvenience was when we went down for breakfast we were told there wasn't much food left even though we were there half an hour before end of service. We decided against it because of this.

A beautiful house and gardens, the property certainly has the wow factor! We had a wonderful welcome, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious with a comfortable super king sized bed. The bathroom was huge. There was a good selection for breakfast.

Half of the menu in the Terrace Bar was not available. There are only seven items on the menu, three of which are pizza. On Sunday the pizza wasn’t available. On Monday, again, no pizzas. I was told their delivery was on Wednesday. Tesco’s was only down the road, surely someone could have bought a few of their finest range and put a specials board up if it was wasn’t the same as their printed menu! 3 nights with only half a menu! A good business doesn’t run on lax of flexibility! The lighting in the bedroom and bathroom was poor. There was nowhere to use to put makeup on. Lovely large wardrobe area but not enough hangers. There didn’t seem to be enough staff. The few there seemed to be trying their best to run between different areas.

There seemed to have been a lack of communication with the hotel from Booking. Com, regarding our request to bring a dog at the time of booking. When I rang Crabwall the night before our arrival, they knew nothing about it. Then, when we arrived the next day, the receptionist knew nothing about my phone call the night before. However, we ended up with a lovely room, and they didn't charge for our dog. It worked out well in the end

Beautiful property, nicely decorated bedrooms, great breakfast, friendly staff, nice swimming pool and gym facilities.

Changing rooms and pool area could have been cleaner as people were just leaving rubbish everywhere and also coming out of the steam room and sauna covered in sweat and jumping straight into the pool or jacuzzi (eww) instead of following the many signs around the pool area that ask you to shower in between - which is more a reflection of the people than the hotel but could do with staff observing and popping round to pick up rubbish regularly. Room 35 door is loose so when people walk past it sounds like the door will open which did disturb us quite a bit during our 2 nights but for the price we paid and the quality of the hotel and facilities we didn’t really mind too much.

I was expecting an average room so was delighted when I arrived to a luxurious and recently refurbished room. The bed was bigger than a king size and comfortable. There was a lovely seating area and the bathroom was super. Plenty of wardrobe space in fab fitted wardrobes. The corridors leading to the bedrooms had also been updated and were very light and pleasant. I'm guessing the reception area may be updated in due course to match the high standard of the bedroom, as compared to the room, the reception area was quite old fashioned and a little jaded. I didn't get chance myself to use the spa, but was told by a colleague that the area was very pleasant. A very pleasant experience overall which exceeded my booking expectations. Breakfast was also good although they had run out of yoghurts.

I ordered food from the bar rather than the restaurant. The starter (courgette fritters) were very good but the burger was slightly on the dry side. I asked for a receipt so I could claim the cost of food on my expenses but this wasn't available as the printer wasn't working. I asked for this to be emailed separately but to date this hasn't been received. I understand from a colleague who ate in the main restaurant that the meal was very good.

I had an excellent stay at Crabwell Manor. Great room in a peaceful location. Friendly staff. Lovely grounds which made it good to walk around. Nice leisure suite made the experience much more memorable. Staff were very helpful and attentive when needed. There was a lot of diverse options for Breakfast although potentially the quality of ingredients could be better.

- Possibly the quality of breakfast options. - was told the jacuzzi was momentarily closed for cleaning and would re-open soon during the period of use. However, whilst waiting, this did not happen and the jacuzzi remained closed. Would have welcomed a more honest answer that it would be shut for the morning period (as to avoid waiting for this)

The receptionist on arrival was very friendly and informative - he offered to help with bags and personally guided us to our rooms. The rooms as usual are generously large and the bathrooms are spacious and clean. The room is furnished well with everything I need . The beds are large and very comfortable . The grounds are superb for ambling . It a great hotel . Checkout was efficient again the receptionist was friendly and informative . I enjoy visiting Crabwell and this visit did not disappoint . I didn’t have time to use the Spa. The bar is a great place to relax in the evening and again the bar man was super friendly .

Unfortunately the telephone and wi if was down which wasn’t the hotel’s fault and not being the internet was the only blemish on what was an excellent and relaxing stay.

Liked that it was handy to town but out of town. Lots of extras like a pool spa etc. Room was large and great to have windows that opened fully.

There was a wedding on and a reasonable part of the building and grounds where taken up with that. Don't have a problem with weddings, would hve bn nice to have it communicated, prior to our stay. Wouldn't have changed us staying but it would hve taken away the disappointment of not being able to sit in the garden. Lighting in the room was very minimal, the option to have more than 3 wall small wall lights would have bn great.

The location is great, 10 mins from Chester centre but the hotel itself is set back in a lovely peaceful spot. The pool is very nice and clean. We ate out for our evening meal but the breakfast was superb, quote often with the buffet style breakfasts half the options are empty, no eggs, no sausage etc - not here, plenty of everything. The staff were all pleasant and friendly.

Some of the decor in the room was a little tatty, didn't bother us though. We stayed in a family room and the shower was good but the tray drains far too slowly meaning it overflows. Not the end of the world as we had a mountain of towels but it needs sorting.

Large and spacious room made it a relaxing experience. Weather and our need to rest and go at a gentle pace determined that we needed to be in our room for a large part of our stay. It isn’t an easy hotel to keep the shared areas and corridors warm. In Winter weather. It was attractively decorated in a Christmasy theme. The Spa area is the most cosy place to sit for coffee. There is always someone on reception for returning late into the night. Management were extremely helpful and supportive in arranging somewhere private with good telephone reception for a pre-arranged medical appointment.

The lounge areas in the bar have through traffic which makes them draughty at this time of year. When staying there as a couple, it doesn’t lend itself to people having opportunities to mix, meet or chat. Easier for people going as a group of friends.
