Beautiful property, nicely decorated bedrooms, great breakfast, friendly staff, nice swimming pool and gym facilities.
Changing rooms and pool area could have been cleaner as people were just leaving rubbish everywhere and also coming out of the steam room and sauna covered in sweat and jumping straight into the pool or jacuzzi (eww) instead of following the many signs around the pool area that ask you to shower in between - which is more a reflection of the people than the hotel but could do with staff observing and popping round to pick up rubbish regularly. Room 35 door is loose so when people walk past it sounds like the door will open which did disturb us quite a bit during our 2 nights but for the price we paid and the quality of the hotel and facilities we didn’t really mind too much.

I was expecting an average room so was delighted when I arrived to a luxurious and recently refurbished room. The bed was bigger than a king size and comfortable. There was a lovely seating area and the bathroom was super. Plenty of wardrobe space in fab fitted wardrobes. The corridors leading to the bedrooms had also been updated and were very light and pleasant. I'm guessing the reception area may be updated in due course to match the high standard of the bedroom, as compared to the room, the reception area was quite old fashioned and a little jaded. I didn't get chance myself to use the spa, but was told by a colleague that the area was very pleasant. A very pleasant experience overall which exceeded my booking expectations. Breakfast was also good although they had run out of yoghurts.
I ordered food from the bar rather than the restaurant. The starter (courgette fritters) were very good but the burger was slightly on the dry side. I asked for a receipt so I could claim the cost of food on my expenses but this wasn't available as the printer wasn't working. I asked for this to be emailed separately but to date this hasn't been received. I understand from a colleague who ate in the main restaurant that the meal was very good.

Large and spacious room made it a relaxing experience. Weather and our need to rest and go at a gentle pace determined that we needed to be in our room for a large part of our stay. It isn’t an easy hotel to keep the shared areas and corridors warm. In Winter weather. It was attractively decorated in a Christmasy theme. The Spa area is the most cosy place to sit for coffee. There is always someone on reception for returning late into the night. Management were extremely helpful and supportive in arranging somewhere private with good telephone reception for a pre-arranged medical appointment.
The lounge areas in the bar have through traffic which makes them draughty at this time of year. When staying there as a couple, it doesn’t lend itself to people having opportunities to mix, meet or chat. Easier for people going as a group of friends.

All the colleagues were really polite and kind. I have a great sleep and also enjoyed the spa facilities. Everything was very clean and nicely set up.
The walls are thin and you can hear everything. My neighbours were very loud and woke me up multiple times throughout the night. I’d gone to bed around 10pm and woke up to doors slamming, screaming and people running around at midnight . When I called reception to see if they could ask them to be quieter and stop running down the corridors no one was available. So I went downstairs to find someone and there was a radio left on the table and a note to say please use it to contact them - I did but no one replied but luckily someone appeared who it 5 minutes later. I’m not sure if they did go up to the room next door as I didn’t hear anything but eventually at 1am they quietened down so I could go back to sleep.

Room was big and spacious only small issue about the mattress when we went to let them know in the office that there is a problem about the mattress ,the manager Megan was happy to give us another room with more comfy bed which was very nice of her to that thankyou
When we go for breakfast by 9am nearly everything gone and we had to ask for napkins which should be left somewhere where everyone can see them so they can help themselves, there was no orange juice for 3days by 9am we been told we don't have anymore, breakfast should be ready and organised well and there is enough food for everyone

E V E R Y Y H I N G A wonderful building perfectly located just on the outskirts of Chester. The staff couldn't have done more to make our stay feel special. Superb clean comfortable room with incredible views across the stunning hotel grounds, with Chester in the distance. The breakfast was very good. The bar was very good. Everything was very good. Didn't use the pool facilities but looked very good. Anybody who wants to have a wonderful wedding experience we highly recommend this beautiful hotel
The rating system that only allowed us to go up to 10/10 It doesn't feel high enough 😆

Lovely large room and bathroom. Beautifully and tastefully decorated too.
Tissues in bathroom lacking. Another wastepaper bin too. Tea & coffee making facilities at breakfast need a rethink - very tricky to carry cups across large room, spillages do happen! Not easy for older people either.

Amazing from check in to check out. Absolutely stunning building and looked beautiful with the xmas decorations and we also got to see it in the snow 😍 we only booked a basic room but were given a huge beautiful room 2 doors away from the pool. The spa facilities are amazing. The pool was lovely and warm and jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were brilliant. Extremely polite and helpful staff and we will definitely be booking again.
We did fri to sun and on the Saturday night the people above were awful we were kept up till gone 3am. But.... I went to reception and they went up and repeatedly went up to keep telling them and eventually they asked them to leave. They dealt with it brilliantly and in no way was it any fault of their own . They even offered to move us room. This has still not put us off returning and cannot wait for out next stay

Beautiful Large old property was a little bit of a maze upstairs the rooms were clean large and quite modern bathroom had a lovely walking shower and a bath and was lovely and warm with a heated towel rail. The restaurant is à la carte so did find this a bit pricey had two courses with a drink for 4 came to £160 there was ample parking outside and with the stay you could use the spa steam room sauna swimming pool Jacuzzi Jacuzzi did look like it needed a bit of a spruce up though and had a bit of a smell of smelly socks apart from that, everything was lovely. staff were all very helpful and friendly. Got a Uber into Chester town itself which cost £6 and then paid £7 to get back later that evening still cheaper than the car park which would’ve cost us £15 .
As I have no sense of direction did get lost a couple of times upstairs trying to find my room as it was up the stairs down the corridor through a white door that had nothing written on it to find our room number 55

We initially chose the hotel due to it's location as it was convenient for both Chester zoo and the town centre. The staff were great and made us feel very welcome in both the hotel and spa. Our room, just off the main entrance, was spacious and the very large bed was extremely comfortable so we both had a great night's sleep. There was a good selection at breakfast and dinner in the restautant was good, if a little pricey for the options available. Overall, good value for money and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We were in a room that catered for disabled guests and there was a curtain in the walk in shower that needed to be changed. We also had a lovely relaxing massage in the spa although the area does need some maintenance as much for the benefit of the staff as anyone else. However, only a couple of minor issues that didn't spoil our overall view of the hotel which we will definitely visit again!
