Room was clean and quiet, firm bed with 4 pillows. Shower was very good and powerful. Location was quiet, not far (3mins in a car) from a reservoir for a nice walk. Reception was clean and friendly staff. Bar had TV on to watch as you drank or take your drinks to the inner courtyard and outside seating. Evening meal was excellent. Breakfast had loads of choice including cooked breakfast, cereal, fruit, cheeses and hams, and pastries, Tea and coffee and juices. Never got to use the spa or leisure facilities.

Breakfast- cooked items seemed dried out (sausages, Bacon and Hash browns) No price list on bar drinks - ordered a Cognac and was charged £14.50 for 25ml single shot! Premium prices.

Plenty of space as hotel is huge. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed in our Privilege room was a superking and it was very comfortable. Room was quiet with black out curtains. Large TV. Although the hotel decor is dated in parts it is still a lovely hotel. We didn’t use the leisure club but we visited it and it looks like a lovely pool and adequate gym. The breakfast was extra but was a plentiful buffet with super friendly staff. We ate in the restaurant one night. It was pricey but delicious.

No air con in the room and windows only open a small amount.

The property was excellent value for money. Easy access for disabled visitors. I was able to park near the entrance and access my mobility scooter to take in which was a huge help as the hotel is quite big. The rooms were dated but that’s a mercure issue not the staff. Accessability here as with most hotels I visit is a tick box exercise not a reality check. That is not the staffs fault they helped me find the best room for me.

Rooms are a long way from the lift, down 2 corridors. Doors open into the room which means I am locked in with my scooter unable to get out through the door. A simple doorstop would solve this

I don’t know if we had a special deal or if we paid the regular price but I considered it to be excellent value for money. Having difficulty in walking distances I was relieved to find disabled badge parking at the entrance to the hotel. Thanks.

I was disappointed that the dining room was not available to all guests. That said the meals served from the bar were entirely satisfactory. I cannot be the only 70 yr old who finds it difficult climbing into a bath to use a shower. The consequences of falling could have been disastrous.

The room was tastefully decorated, clean, had everything we needed and was very quiet. It ticked all the boxes.

We booked this hotel specifically because it had a pool (which helps with my mobilisation) and have used it in the past. However when I turned up this time for a quick half hour swim before dinner I was horrified to be asked to pay £10 for my swim! I've never been charged here or at any other hotel for a swim before. I had left my money and valuables back in our room which was about as far away as it could have been and no joke to return (with a bad hip) to fetch payment. I left disappointed to put it mildly. It should state in the hotel details that the pool incurs an extra charge (even for half an hour).

- Nice Room space / Facilities (Shower was powerful and clean) - Plenty of parking - Staff were friendly + night staff (helpful and welcoming) - Ease of booking overall - Breakfast options were good - Liked the ease of self service for all items.

- Room didn't have aircon - Fan provided was dusty/dirty and poor - Beds were really hard and not very comfortable - Only one main towel provided for two people staying - Hotel seemed quite dated - missing pictures / holes and marks on walls along corridors - needed a freshen up - Dirty rockery left outside our room (presume from previous guests) - Not enough hanging / wardrobe space to unpack in room

The hotel is located well and had great facilities like the spa. Very good for weddings or large gatherings.👏 The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the shower strong and hot.👌 The tea/coffee making facility in the room was nice with shortbread biscuits, though we only got one each.😏 The food served in the bar area was okay, the chalkstream trout was enjoyed by hubby.🙂

It took nearly an hour to get served our food! Very, very slow service, and it seemed like several tables all got served at the same time?😡 Breakfast was okay, but NOT worth the price charged, compared to Premier Inn!😢 The plates were cold, and the only eggs offered were scrambled. Nothing was very hot, and no staff around doing any cooking, like fried eggs?🤔 I had to request if there was any orange juice, and a lady went and brought a jug out.☹️

The hotel has plenty of parking and indoor heated pool and we enjoyed using the pool and sauna. The staff was helpful when we asked questons. We were charged for the parking as we forgot giving our car plate number with the reception but when we informed the hotel, the charge was dropped. Highly appreciated their quick response on this matter.

At the time of check in, we were informed that we will be charged 10 pounds for using the pool but at the pool, we were told it is free for hotel guests. In addition, kids are not allowed to use the pool after 6pm. We hope the information regarding pool use to be a bit more clear....

We used this hotel as a base to travel back and forth to the British round of the Motogp. The facilities exceeded what I expected for the price paid. There was both Continental & Cooked breakfast available, with the staff attending to our needs perfectly. The hotel is very modern with a gym and swimming facilities which were perfect. Our room was large, well set out with a comfortable bed & large bathroom.

The fixtures in the bath/shower made it quite difficult to have a shower without getting caught up in the additional fixtures.

The location is central for the town and the business parks. It is easy to find. The staff are very approachable and the facilities are very good. The rooms are spotlessly clean. Lovely Hot water and warm. Beds are large and comfortable. I often stay here as it’s my favourite hotel in the area and good value for a few nights. Parking is free and well catered for. Bar and Menu at most times of day including room service. Can’t really fault this hotel at all. Even has late check out time of 12pm and housekeeping do not disturb you.
