A very modern building with an outstanding service. The checkin and checkout process were smooth and quick. Some may think the rooms are small but I think it was just fine. At first I thought the pillows might be a little too hard, but once I slept on them I realized the were very confortable, and it actually helped with a little neck pain I had when I arrived at Japan. The public barhrooms were an amazing plus and absolutely worth the price of the stay (though it might help to give guests some type of manual or instructions on the proper onsen etiquette. I think a lot of people may already know or resesrch on their own, but I noticed some people were a little lost). The location was also ideal, and there are a number of conbinis really close by. I enjoyed my stay a lot, and will definitely consider it for a future trip when I'm in Tokyo.

APA Hotel Ueno Ekimae has an excellent location—just a short walk from Ueno and Keisei Stations, with easy access to most attractions and the airport. We stuck to nearby lines like the Ginza and Hibiya lines, but there are plenty of options to explore the city. The hotel is also close to Ameyoko Market, where we tried lots of tasty local food. There are some good, less touristy dining spots behind the hotel in the office area, though they can be a bit pricier. I really appreciated the hotel’s eco-friendly approach by not doing daily housekeeping. Fresh sheets are available every 3 nights, and towels are changed daily. We didn’t use the spa, but it was popular with other guests, especially in the evenings. I’ve heard it’s great for relaxing after a busy day. The hotel has a handy laundry facility with an app to track your washing and drying time. Plus, there’s a portable luggage scale, which saved us from packing one! Lastly, the hotel lets you store your luggage, which is great if you arrive early or leave late. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its location, amenities, and sustainability efforts.

I didn't like that the check out time is too early. It's 10AM. It could have been later, maybe 12 noon.

The hotel matches the description, but the room size is quite small—even for me, an Asian with a height of around 170 cm and my wife and toddler. However, the accessibility and cleanliness are sufficient. The access to the nearest station is actually quite convenient, but if you have special needs, such as using a wheelchair or, in my case, bringing a baby stroller, it requires some effort. As a result, we ended up using Okachimachi Station more often than Ueno Station. The location is excellent, close to Ameyokocho, Ueno Park, and other attractions just by waliing distance.

There is no direct elevator access to the station; we had to cross the street. Initially, the map from Ueno Station showed that we only needed to use a pedestrian bridge, which was inaccessible since we had a stroller. However, the next day, we managed to find the best elevator access from the station eventho we need to search it before.

the local is perfect for a visitor to Tokyo and around. the Ueno station can deliever everyone to anywhere in time. the room service is silently functional. The staffs are also experienced to receive foreigners.

if possible, i would like to suggest that the apa hotels could put their index numbers (the number on their entrences) explictly after their hotel names in booking or anywhere else. there are many apa hotels near ueno. It's a little bit difficult to locate their on google map based on their english name in memory.

The location is just amazing, Ueno has many restaurants and stores around and from the hotel it’s super easy to access them; public transportation is few minutes away The onsen is better than expected! Very relaxing and well maintained, tattoo have to be covered but the staff can offer 2 stickers per person for free The hotel is clean and the staff very friendly Check in and check out can be made autonomously I loved the hotel overall and also feels quite luxurious, I stayed twice!

Rooms are a bit small but we didn’t spend much time in the hotel anyway, I would stay again for sure!

Room is small, but suitcases fit under the desk and bed. Nice view of Tokyo Skytree in the distance. The staff are lovely and beautiful, and helped me when i lost my key to the rooms. Fluent in english. Staff very kind to my little daughter, the hotel gives kids their own cute amenity bag! (But only 1 per stay, we booked for 5 nights). Unfortunately no swimming pool, but there is a nice public bath, they are very warm. There is a coin laundry at ground level but the room is very hot! Location is great for ameyokocho and ueno park. I preferred this area for families than akihabara. Ueno station is a 10min walk away. There is a subway station entrance about 1 minute from the hotel entrance (stairs only) so may as well walk above ground. Ice machine on level 2, i wish there were more on other levels.

Check in starts too late. They have increased the price for late check out. Dont have option for half day booking, can only extend check out until 2pm Bed is basic, its ok, just not a good mattress. The sheets were not the most comfortable.

The location was good, the Hotel should say wich exit is better to get the Hotel due to several APA Hotel in the region, asking for directions in the train station, the people sometimes indicates the wrong direcition. Cause has APA North, South, East and Weast. (This information on the web site could help to get without mistakes.

Great location close to Ueno Station, Keisei Skyliner and Ameyoko Shopping area. Perfect location for exploring Tokyo and beyond. Rooms were clean, staff were friendly, overall a great value stay.

The air conditioning cannot be adjusted, and on some days it was too warm and we needed to leave the windows open to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. This was not a problem for us as we stayed on the side of the building facing away from the main road and it was fairly quiet, however, it would not be so great on the highway-facing side of the building. Tip: Ask for a room with a view towards Skytree.

I really appreciate the convenience of staying at APA Hotels. Most of their locations are situated close to train stations, which makes getting around super easy. On top of that, they’re usually near mini markets, so it’s incredibly convenient if I want to grab a quick snack or something late at night. This combination of accessibility and convenience always makes my stay enjoyable and hassle-free.

The room size was smaller than I initially expected, but I realize that this is mostly due to different expectations. In countries like Indonesia and sometimes Thailand, you can get a much larger room for the same budget, so it’s just a matter of adjusting to local standards. Overall, it’s still perfectly fine, considering the price and location.

The rooms are a little small but ok for Tokyo. They have everything one needs. Towels and amenities such as toothbrush and instant coffee/tea are being restocked every day. The hotel is very clean and everyone was really nice. There is a western and a japanese style breakfast, I preferred the second. There was a variety to chose from in both styles. The Onsen was very nice, one pool inside, a small and a bigger one outside. A locker for your things in the changing room. They have four washing machines and four dryers, in the evening there are queues. We were able to store our luggage in the hotel after our Check-out to roam through the city a little more.
