The deco and mood of the hotel is wonderful. Quirky and old worldly with a modern touch. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

Breakfast on the first day (Monday 25th August) was excellent. The subsequent two days the format changed to buffet style which seemed to be new. It did work and was nice however as I had experienced the Monday breakfast it wasn't as good. Location was excellent and a short walk to all York had to offer. I loved the decor in the hotel and the crisps and shortbread on arrival was lovely touch. Lovely shampoo, conditioner and soap. Great aircon and excellent shower. Restaurant staff were welcoming and great service.

Parking should be included in stay price. Mattress was very firm. No USB ports in room. The full room service menu was not available on the Sunday evening. There was only a limited choice and pizza qr code didn't work.

The location is perfect! The hotel decor is attractive & interesting. The room was pleasantly furnished & very comfortable. The breakfast was superb! Great choice of cold & hot items. Service & organisation was outstanding! I’d particularly like to mention Kane who was really friendly & enthusiastic. The customer service throughout our four night stay was exemplary! I had the pleasure of chatting to the General Manager during our stay. She, like all the other staff we met was professional, friendly, welcoming & a credit to the company! We shall certainly return.

Staff very nice, accommodating and friendly. Nice functional bathroom. Good shower. Location nice. Close but away from noisy, touristy areas. Housekeeping did a great job, anticipated needs by leaving us extra towels and room supplies. Biggest King bed ever!

Air freshener emitter near elevators. Way too strong on 3rd floor. Food and Beverage marginal. Pasta deal confusing, can’t order downstairs, have to go to ur room and order it, but then we had to go down and get our drinks (cokes) from the bar. But pasta was delivery only. Restaurant dead and empty during the day and evening except for breakfast. Needs a vibe and some activation. Wanted to get a coffee and muffin or pastry to go in morning, but not an option, had to get whole continental breakfast in a sit down format. But after breakfast is over it’s an option, pastries are laid on bar counter for sale until late in the day. Strange. Had breakfast last morning. Eggs Benedict. Egg was cooked through, yolk solid, hollandaise sauce lumpy. Ham dried out.

the room was well sized, the king bed large & very comfy. the location was fine for walking into the town. the breakfast service & food very good.

the check in staff weren't the most cheerful. no-one offered to help my wife with the bags while I parked the car offsite, as the parking is limited, was full, & I had to pay another GBP 19 per day on top of the GBP 331/night for the room in another car park. the price for what you got was not good value for money.

The room was very clean , modern but with character and very comfortable . Staff on reception are very pleasant and helpful . Location is great

Breakfast was disssapioting . Have stayed before , and enjoyed quality and professional staff , this time not the same experience. Had to ask for fruit to be replenished, as empty plates . Also had to ask for fresh bread .both came eventually. My friend had to ask for jam . My order missed the extra egg I had asked for . I was told they would bring it, but it never arrived . It wasn't very busy, so no excuse .! So sad standards have slipped , and probably wouldn't have breakfast again .

I was advised car park was full even though I arrived early after being advised that was not reservable and allocated on a first come first service. The adjacent public car park was full. There were some empty spaces in the hotel car park but I was told they had been allocated to guests who may have gone out for the day. I am a disabled driver blue badge holder but there were no spaces held for disabled drivers. I would have been happy to pay for a valet car park but tis service was not available.

The hotel is in a good location about a 10 minute walk into town but there are plenty of pubs along the way. We had a room on the ground floor which was spacious and modern the view wasn’t the best but didn’t bother us as we didn’t spend much time in the room. It was our 1st year wedding anniversary so we opted for the romance package which was a bottle of Prosecco, chocolate, balloons and petals which was a nice touch. The breakfast was lovely plenty to choose from we opted for the full English and was a reasonable size. The staff were all nice and friendly and helpful. The car park is a 2 minute walk from the hotel which wasn’t an issue for us and was reasonably priced at £16

Staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Parking which cost extra was only a short walk from the hotel, but due to the location we were able to walk everywhere. The choice and quality of the food at breakfast was very good. It was our first time staying in a hotel Indigo and we both liked how the hotel it looked.

Our room was at the rear of the building and we were both awoken at six thirty each morning buy delivery lorries and bin lorries taking away glass bottles. All of which had reversing horns on. In order to get a decent sleep I’d check were in the hotel your room is.

Accommodation was excellent…spacious bedroom and bathroom. Beds were extremely comfortable and there were lots of nice little touches in the room such as slippers, handwash, shower gel, shampoo. Every member of staff we met was friendly and extremely helpful…nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast, both continental and cooked was excellent…lots of variety. Location was excellent too…short walk took you into the centre of York but there were lots of independent restaurants, cocktail bars etc within a short walk. York is an expensive place to stay and as I hadn’t used a Hotel Indigo before I didn’t know what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised on all fronts and delighted that the hotel greatly exceeded my expectations.
