Location was great. Most staff were very helpful including upgrading our room. Food was outstanding. Lovely restaurant area.

Receptionist could smile a bit more and be a bit more helpful. Wrong information on website Re opening hours of the bar. Initial room was a bit dark and stunk of chemicals. Wifi not great, programme stopped half way through. Staff couldn’t fix it when asked. Beds very hard resulting in sore back and restless sleep.

Perfect location close to both the city and the bay suburbs with a view overlooking the rose gardens with water glimpses! Must be one of the most underrated places to stay in Auckland as the price was incredible for such a beautiful place. Super comfortable beds, really lovely staff, and the recent renovations and upgrades give it that something special. Brand new, modern and very clean bathroom (far superior to when we had stayed there a couple of years ago). The restaurant was ideal for dinner so we didn't have to travel anywhere to eat out. We had the place to ourselves and the staff were great. Delicious food and well priced. Far exceeded expectations for our one night stay. Will return!

Emaculate - like really clean and tidy facility. The room we had was basic but boy was it clean and fresh. Loved the in-house bathroom gels ie shower, shampoo, conditioner and moisturizer. Great smell. Beds where well made up and sheets lovely and soft. Room temp was fine. TV modern and easy to navigate. Restaurant exceeded my expectation. I was hoping for good food but found Amazing food! Had the steak and then creme Brule for dessert! 5 stars for the meal. Had kids with me and they enjoyed ordering off the kids menu! Awsome to have a kids menu available. Inclusive buffet breakfast was so good too. Simple things done well! Highly recommend eating at restaurant. Staff where all very friendly and accommodating. Nothing really. I have been looking at staying here for a while and pleased I finally got to. I would/am going to stay again.

Very comfy bed, quiet and easy-to-use air-con, very nice swimming pool & lounge chairs, across road from the beautiful rose gardens, excellent restaurant (which we used for dinner twice). Glad we stayed during weekend since there is noise from renovations during week.

No lift access to 1st floor; external concrete steps; our room booking said it had a garden view but it didn't; Villa 4 neighbour abused us for stopping our car outside reception; room didn't supply a welcome booklet with any relevant info, eg for tv or where to go in case of fire.

Great location, easy to get too even in peak traffic. Clean room and all the staff were lovely.

We stayed in room 351 which faced the rose garden which was a great view, but the bollard lights that line the property were not turned off the first night we stayed and because the curtains are not blackout the whole room was illuminated. They were turned off the other 2 nights we stayed but it was still very light in the room, the curtain rail sits very far out from the wall so we had to roll up a blanket to put across the top of the curtain rail to make the room dark and there is a gap under the door where the light also streams in.

A lovely place to stay in Auckland, although it is not really within walking distance to the city area. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel for the 755 buses, though, which run regularly and go into the city (5–10-minute ride, credit card can be used to tap on and off for fares). The hotel is full of character, and the rooms have recently been renovated, with a high standard of fittings (the bathroom was lovely). The bed was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant and bar were affordable, and they had a very good menu and a lovely view across the rose gardens opposite down to the water. The Wi-Fi was good.

The carpets in the hallways don't create a good first impression, as they are very well worn, although I'm sure they'll be on the list with the renovations (the reception area was being done when I was there). Parking is free but if you arrive late in the afternoon or in the evening, there are very few if any spots available, and they are extremely narrow (which may cause issues if you have a car of any size above a small one). Street parking is available but is ticketed in daylight hours. My room was directly facing onto the pool, which I didn't think would be a consideration given the season; however, a family spent an hour or so in it one afternoon and it was very noisy. Asking for a room away from the pool would solve this problem.

We had originally booked a Queen room with a balcony but our view was facing the carpark side so I asked if we were able to swap with a room facing the Parnell Gardens instead. The Receptionist was more than accommodating and had booked us a twin queen room facing the gardens instead so I was thoroughly happy. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay as it was booked for a Mothers day weekend away not to mention this is the second time staying here and was so impressed with the new renovations.

The only thing I would be fussy about would be that the water pressure in the shower isn't that great and also the wifi was super slow on my phone once connected and also on the TV. However, those are just minor things but everything else exceeded our expectations.

The room was large and had a great view towards the Auckland skyline. It had clearly been refurbished recently. The rose gardens across the road are a large reason to stay, as is the included car park as it is easier to drive to the hotel rather than trying to catch a bus with your bags. However once checked in the bus that runs along the road is convenient to get to the city, or the walk down to Tamaki Drive to catch other bus options is not long. The restaurant has great dinner options, and while we did not have breakfast there this time, we have before, and the view across the rose garden in the morning sun is a great start to the day.

The fridge did not work properly when we first arrived, I had to turn it off for an hour and then back on again before it started to work. The bathroom was strange - there was a step up into the shower which felt very unsafe on the tiles, I would not have felt very comfortable using it if I had been staying alone. Would have preferred a tub with shower above.

Seamless check-in, friendly staff, well-appointed rooms, comfy beds, superior condiments, & free parking in an excellent location.

Loud voices of those talking in the public areas located outside but close to the rooms, especially late at night & early in the morning. A sign kindly asking those that are gathering in such areas to be considerate to the occupants of nearby rooms & keep the volume to a minimum. The inclusion of a microwave in the room to heat food would have been nice. And also a concierge folder with relevant information pertaining to the property but especially the room, i.e., TV channels, etc.

The reception staff upon check-in and check out were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel was very clean and was one of the few hotels in the area with complimentary parking. The food and beverage prices are very reasonable and the hotel is only a 5 minute drive to Spark Arena. The chocolate chip pancakes in the buffet brekky were really good.

The pillows were quite dense and uncomfortable and I could feel the springs in the mattresses which sagged a little. I still slept well though so they're not overly uncomfortable but they could definitely do with updating some time soon. The buffet brekky is well priced but the scrambled eggs were a let down this morning so none of the guests seemed to be eating them. Overall we had a great stay.
