As we arrived early, we were able to get one of the affordable parking spaces directly in front of the entrance. The reception staff were super friendly and helpful. We could leave our luggage until check-in. Later the staff helped us to bring it into the room, and in the evening we were even lent some dishes at reception so that we could use the common kitchen. The room and the bathroom were newly renovated, modern and spacious. The way to the room led through an impressive former railway station concourse. It was a pleasant atmosphere, as the building is also home to permanent residents.

Although the room was large and renovated, it was dark and kind of uncozy due to its location on the ground floor and its long shape. The small window was at the end of the room over the bed and we heard the trains passing nearby (during the night there were not many). We therefore didn't like staying in the room for long. But it wasn't necessary as we were only there two nights before a flight and spend the day outside. Overall value for money was excellent.

The room was larger than expected. Great facilities in the room for a short 1 night stay. There's microwave, fridge, sink, utensils, plate, bowl cups and what not. Hangers and ironing board with iron provided too. Have some teas, coffee and hot chocolate provide too. Bathrooms have toilets and towels. Looks like they also do long term stay arrangements, very convenient in City centre and relatively near eateries and grocery stores. Building facade looks amazing with a strong historical and cultural background. Staff was really friendly and helpful.

Not say don't like, but if you are not used to being beside the train station, you can hear the trains going on late at night and early in the morning. Not an issue to me as there are curtains etc to block out the sounds, almost like white noise.

I love the location of this property, my room as always was spacious. Ivy goes out of her way to make sure I get the room I like and if it’s not available, she will give me the next best thing. I have been staying at the grand central serviced apartments since 2019, I don’t stay anywhere else. It is great location, excellent prices and the staff are amazing. I encountered to new staff this time, the first was the amazing night manager who checked me in and the 2nd was the early guy who starts at 10. They are both as polite and efficient as Ivy is. I now have a flat room rate I pay no matter what the season as they offer a mates rates discount for frequent returning guest Grand Central Serviced Apartments A+ once again and Ivy and team i wiil c u all in November for my birthday stay Thank you

Very good value for money. We arrived at 10.30 at night, having been unable to let them know our situation and the staff could not have been more understanding. The apartments were clean, and had everything supplied that one finds in any hotel. If you are looking for cheap accommodation for one or two nights in Auckland, I would recommend these apartments. Remember that it is a converted railway station so there are long corridors with concrete floors which echo, unlike a modern building.

The situation is within walking g distance of the CBD and an area opposite the apartments attracted a group of skateboarders who were very loud late at night. Noise can not be kept out of such an old building so we were just unlucky on the Saturday night!

The staff is always friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, and the building has historic charm. While the rooms are not extravagant, they are clean and comfortable. We stayed there several times and we plan to come back in the near future.

I'd like to clarify that most of the negative reviews weren't as bad as they were said. Lovely lady at reception. Was the elevator a bit dodgy yes but fine, the rooms did smell at random times, like an old Chinese restaurant where they also smoke. But was alright. The reason I'm not going too harsh is because it costs us 120$ and was right next to spark arena, like for all the negative reviews, you get what you pay for.

The restaurant downstairs it's dead don't bother going to it. Got a kingfisher beer that I'm pretty sure had been sitting in that tap for months. The speakers turned on when we arrived and stating that it was a relaxing meditation Indian Playlist, what I thought mean this will be nice. But it was loud dubstep? Go to one of the other many restaurants around the area.

A stay in this beautiful old station building is a fascinating experience on its own. The room itself was rather characterless in comparison, but 100% functional for a comfortable overnight stay. In addition to the kitchenette (including microwave and kettle) in the room, there is a large communal kitchen in the building that you can use free of charge. Location is within walking distance of Auckland Strand train station, which made our choice of the Grand Central Serviced Apartments even more obvious. Reception staff were super friendly and helpful and the deciding reason for our 10. Definitely recommended.

This is an old (indoor) train station that is being converted into apartments. It is a dated building but they are keeping most of the structure of the station intact in the center of the building (high ceilings, tiled floors, staircases leading to glass walled second floor). The remainder of the building on the main floor is being converted into apartments. There is onsite parking, a restaurant and vending machines. There is also a grocery and restaurants nearby.

Lovely building as you enter. Friendly reception, parking right by the door. Room was comfortable. Had all we needed.

View out the window not so great, needs a tidy up. Got woken up at 6:30/7 to the sound of construction, banging noises. Went to see what was going on and the room opposite was being renovated!! It was new year holiday so we were surprised witWorkh was going on! They did quieten down but it was a bit rough. Also seemed to be a lot of random people waiting/ walking around? Just a bit unusual.
