Location was fantastic, not being too far away from the CBD. The room itself was great, given we stayed for a week long stay, we were provided with an oven that also grilled, a dishwasher, sink, cutlery and crockery. The kitchen condiments were replaced daily, as were the bathroom essentials. The cleaning staff did an amazing job. Given we have a young son, it easily got untidy, but each day when we got back to the room, it had all been reset - I truly appreciate how hard they work (it's not easy). The valet staff and front desk were very friendly, even bringing down our car without us asking, as they knew what time we were leaving the next day. All in all, given this was our first trip to New Zealand/Wellington, I would highly recommend staying at the Bolton Hotel.

Pillows - it would be fantastic if they had a range of different pillows. A mix of some firm and some soft/high/low, etc.

Small hotel, good location for attending Parliament building or places the northern end of the city.

Being expected to pay a surcharge for use of a credit card for accommodation. I don't expect to have to pay cash or by a debit card for payments of several hundred dollars. Bank charges are a cost of doing business and should not be passed onto the customer for accommodation and amounts of several hundred dollars. Customers when travelling should have the option of paying by credit card without penalty. It is a factor that can influence my decision as to whether I stay at the hotel in future.

Room was located on 3rd level with garden view. Beautiful scenery overlooking the Bolton Cemetery. Also swimming pool / sauna is on the 3rd storey so convenient if you like to use the fitness centre. The housekeeping staff were tidy and very clean. Staff also responded promptly at the request of extra lavender scented pillows, very luxurious.

Miscommunication : As requested by us during our check in, the receptionist advised us he will allow late check out on the day we are leaving by pushing the check out time to 12pm. However on the day itself, we had a rude knocks on the door twice as the housekeeping staff thought we were overstaying and didnt want to leave. It was embarrassing for us as well as surprising but staff were apologetic after we clarified what has happened. The check in staff forgot to put into the computer system that we were having a late check out.

Staff was friendly and responsive. Car valet service was nice. The hotel is located towards the Beehive, but away from the nightclub/bars - therefore no external noises at night.

I had two visits to this hotel - one in early 2024, other in end of 2024. In my first visit, I stayed in a standard room (?) and had no issues with it. In my most recent visit however, we were placed in a room right across the gym/swimming pool. Soundproofing is not great, so able to hear all the noises coming from the pool. This room also had a slight musty smell which I think came from all the dust in their AC - as the room does not have a window, it is impossible to ventilate.

Staff are friendly and helpful. The check in lady was awesome and gave us umbrellas , told us about the tourist attractions.

We had the buffet breakfast every morning. The range of food is not as varied as other hotels I've been to. Where are the waffles?? Lol. Not many toast spread options. My partner loved the hot food options. If I had of known the buffet was limited I would have just ordered off the breakfast menu, but we gad already pre paid for the week. The dinners and deserts were really good. We had dinner there 4 times.

Booked a stay here mainly to be close to the ferry terminal for an early morning departure the next day. Hotel is also close to the main sights in the downtown, which was a bonus for us. We booked a 2 bedroom suite, which gave us a bit of space to spread out and allowed us to have a quick breakfast in the room before heading out. Room was good quality with nice big windows.

There was stormy weather during the night, which caused the building to creak quite considerably. This was a little disconcerting. In the morning we noticed a sign outside the lift notifying residents that the building is designed to move with earthquakes/storms, hence the creaking. However, it would have been good if staff informed us of this upon check in or if there was a notice in the room.

We were on the 9th floor, overlooking a nearby park with a typical Wellington hillside behind. Although a motorway was near, there was zero noise. The hotel is right in the CBD, alongside the major government departments and Parliament, also near tourist attractions and great restaurants. The in-house restaurant was excellent, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Above all the staff were great: friendly, attentive and efficient - best team of any hotel I've stayed in.

Well - parking isn't great, although the pick-up/drop-off is well planned and makes up for that.

Breakfast was fantastic. Had everything we needed before a day of shopping. Room was a great size and everything was clean. Staff checked us in promptly too. Having check out at 11am ensure we didnt have to rush.

The only thing we found was being a level 9, it may have been the wind were not sure but throughout the night there was a noise that did wake us up from time to time. Maybe a rattle, we couldn't figure it out. Definitely coming from up above and on the outside of the building.

Nice big suite with a bath and a shower. Good walking distance to most places that we wanted to go to.

A bit disappointed when we arrived. Not a great view from the suite - looking onto a building site. Room wasn’t prepared fully - no toiletries etc Staff very good though when we pointed this out and they did offer us a room with a view but as we had already unpacked we didn’t move. To make up for it they offered us a free breakfast which was greatly received and very good. Shame there wasn’t a bar.

the room was a great size, so clean, staff were very friendly and accommodating, the facilities were great (especially the pool and spa), the location meant it was quiet during the weekend. I have stayed in a lot of hotels, internationally also, and have to say this is one of my favourites.

the location meant there wasn't a lot around - but a quick uber trip into the city (I had a 5 y/o so walking wasn't really an option) but I knew this when I booked. I wanted somewhere nice and quiet - no bars, nightlife etc so it was perfect for that. The view wasn't great, looking at a construction site, but I know there was rooms that had nice greenery, so try and ask for that when you book!
