Lupton Lodge is a short drive to Whangarei and all the shops and restaurants there, but is located in a quiet area. The grounds are large and give it a private feel. Our room was spacious. Head over to Lupton Lodge's website for tons of info to help you plan your stay. I found this very useful and the owner, Andy, is incredibly helpful and communication was great. Helped set up a diving trip. You can also have dinner at the Lodge (to be arranged beforehand) which we very much enjoyed.

Room was spacious and clean, plenty of parking. Andy was very friendly and great comms. He is also a fantastic host, made me feel very welcome on arrival, helped with my bags, the breakfast was amazing! Thanks Andy, top service and you just do it naturally like it's its the norm, but I tell you it's not and its a first for me being treated so well. That's the point of difference, very professional. Perfect!

Dinner was amazing! Andy, the host, is a great cook and also a very nice, helpful and friendly person. The breakfast which is included in the room price is excellent, nice choices.

This is not the property's fault as they dont mention it on their website, but I had made my booking thinking there was a swimming pool. There is one there, but it is not in use. The photos I was looking at were older ones, taken by guests. Just something to be aware of!

A pretty, traditional lodge in a lovely rural setting with beautiful beaches nearby. The lodge has a pretty garden and even a pool that we only noticed the last morning. Host Dave was very nice and helpful, prompt in all communication and we felt welcome. Breakfast was very good and my gluten-free diet was noted, which I really appreciate as that isn’t nearly always clear. Our room was very spacious, had french doors and a view to a medow. Closeby Whangarei is a nice little town for a stroll, the interesting Hundertwasser gallery and even a visit to a waterfall.

The outdoor terrace and garden furniture of the barn would benefit of some gentle touches.

The owner, Andy, was so welcoming and gave good information about the area. Breakfast the next morning with some made to order options was quite a treat. The property is set in a lovely and peaceful orchard - just a great respite at the end of a busy travel day. Close to both Tutukaka and Whaigarei, it was perfectly situated for exploring and for our dive trip the next day to the Poor Knights Islands.

Lovely property located out of Whangarei and en route to Tutukaka. Rural and set back from the main road. Our room was large but cosy and warm with good facilities. Had a wonderful overnight winter’s stay. Lovely bathroom, good cooking facilities. A great stay in any season. Andy was a welcoming and friendly host. He served a delicious breakfast.

The breakfast was the best we have had in all our stays so far. Being vegan I REALLY appreciated that Andy gave us non diary milk and coconut yogurt in the morning. Also Andy was so helpful about the locality, recommending where we could eat dinner for the evening etc and also about our itinerary the next day, without being intrusive. His place is so tranquil with bird song and a beautiful garden.

The room was so pleasant & was exactly the images I saw online. This place would be extra lovely in summer when you could enjoy the outdoors. Set on an estate the accommodation looks like a converted barn. I spent 2 nights in the lower apartment. Bed & pillows were comfy! I knew breakfast was included but didn't expect a continental + cooked ... loved the cooked breakfast of eggs & bacon. Def intend to stay here again if I'm in Whangarei again.

The room & space which creates space to chill, to make basic food with a microwave & kitchenette, to work at a desk. The cooked breakfast.

Boutique, out of town. Cosy warm & it was just what we needed for an overnight stay. We booked the 2 bedroom barn apartment. Fantastic layout my sister in-law from Sydney had the top floor to herself. Hubby & I had the 2nd apartment downstairs. Beautiful gourmet breakfast included in the cost.

A lovely setting in farmland only 10mins from the Whangarei Basin. The accommodation had historic charm. Warm, clean and comfortable. The host Andy was very welcoming and attentive. The breakfast menu was impressive and delicious.

There wasn’t anything to dislike.
