This is a very nice hotel in a great location. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The breakfast was very good, a great selection and variety of foods available. The hotel has a lovely courtyard garden which was ideal for breakfast. We had a meal in the hotel restaurant which was excellent, someone in the kitchen really knows how to cook food! One of the best things about this hotel is the staff, they really go the extra mile to make the guests feel welcome.

Given my review so far why am I not rating the hotel higher? For me the hotel was let down by the finish of the bedroom and bathroom. The room was furnished with more style than substance. The bed was very comfortable but there was insufficient wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom had no drawers or storage space. The shower is in the bath with the shower controls difficult to use. The toilet seat was cheap and not self closing! It was not a 5 star bathroom. This would be a great hotel if the bedroom and bathrooms were improved.

Rooms were quiet and well proportioned. The parking garage was great, and they valet parked for us.

There was a large group of guests that morning and the service was very slow and hard to get their attention. Each person got 2 pillows, one huge and one tiny, both very soft and uncomfortable. The hotel was very dark and clearly style won over function!

Loved just about everything. Staff couldn’t have been nicer, nothing too much trouble. Courtyard dining area for wonderfully relaxed breakfasts. Ate here one evening and food was superb.

Nothing that we didn’t like. Slight issue when we booked in as we had booked for Deluxe room with balcony and with walk in shower. We were originally given a room in the annexe with regular bath. Whilst this room was nice we got the feeling it wasn’t really a deluxe. Reception phoned our room to see if everything was okay. (Did suspect really to see if we would just accept it) . Once we explained we weren’t too impressed we were swiftly moved into the main hotel and into a room which matched what was shown when booking. It’s a pet hate of mine, you book to stay in advertised hotel not an annexe.

Location was fabulous Very nice facility

Extremely poor experience in dining room at one meal. 1. Extremely slow to get my order 2. Brought salad and main course at same time. Had to tell the server to take the main course back and keep it warm. 3. I had to go up to get ice for my water-managing person who served me NEVER returned to ask if things were going well. She had no clue about service management. 4. Had to find someone to order dessert 5. Had to go find someone to get the check. All I all at a hotel of this caliber it was not a good experience. Other interactions were good with staff.

The included breakfast was a very nice selection of hot and cold options ranging from eggs to fresh fruit. The room was nicely sized so that we could access our large checked luggage, carry-ons, and still had plenty of space to get around. The bed was comfy, as were the pillows. The bathroom was quite large as well. The location is great as it is only 2 blocks from the Hard Rock Cafe where many of the city tours have designated as their pick-up/drop-off location. There are several restaurants all around the area within 5-15 minutes walking. The staff were very friendly and professional.

Not a major thing here at all, but if I have a bottle of water that you provided upon request with my meal and I pick it up to refill my glass myself, let me !!! ;) The staff were TOO kind here on insisting that they refill my glass with the water bottle sitting in front of me.

Location and breakfast OK.

I never really comment on hotels, but this time I decided to say a few words. The hotel is located in a good place, despite the busy area, the rooms are quiet. The room is large but the furnishings are completely ill-considered, instead of bedside tables there are some pirate chests without any drawers, there is absolutely no space to spread out your things, and the chests have completely pointless ribbing that makes it difficult to use the space. There is no kettle in the room, ordering 2 teas from the restaurant costs 17.60 Euro. No one cleans the teapots and tea cups unless you order a new delivery.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at 138 Liberdade Hotel in Lisbon, and I can honestly say it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to help — whether it was offering local recommendations, assisting with requests, or simply greeting me with a smile each day. Their kindness made me feel truly welcome and added a personal touch to the entire stay. The hotel itself is beautiful — a perfect blend of historic charm and modern elegance. The location couldn’t be better, right on Avenida da Liberdade, within walking distance to great restaurants, shops, and major sights. My room was stylish, comfortable, and quiet — a real sanctuary after a day exploring the city. Everything was thoughtfully done, from the interior design to the excellent service. It’s clear the team at 138 Liberdade takes pride in creating a memorable guest experience. Highly recommended, and I can’t wait to return!

The only downside was that the air conditioning didn’t work as well as expected, which made the room a bit warm at times. It wasn’t a major issue, but it’s something I hope the hotel can improve for future guests. Despite that, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend 138 Liberdade to anyone visiting Lisbon. Looking forward to coming back!

Lovely hotel with great service.

The only real issue was the morning coffee service at breakfast. Other hotels that we stayed at had more than one machine-two similar to your plus an expresso machine. There is an issue with coffee cups for American's making Americano coffee. There was not a large cup option at the coffee station. the tea cups on the tables only allow enough room for black coffee-not enough room to add milk. This was causing confusion, not just by me but by others as well and could be easily solved with offering larger cups.

The hotel is very charming and welcoming. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated, and it had a large beautiful balcony where we could relax and enjoy the view. It was the perfect spot to unwind after a day exploring the city. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh options to choose from. The staff were kind, attentive and made us feel at home throughout our stay. What truly stands out is the location. The hotel is on the most luxurious street in Lisbon, surrounded by the best shops and restaurants in the city. Everything you might want is just a short walk away, including major attractions and public transportation. I have stayed in several hotels in Lisbon and this was definitely one of the best. I will absolutely return.

The only detail that fell short was the coffee machine. For a room of this standard, it really deserves something more refined, like a Nespresso Vertuo or similar. At least in room 408, that would make the experience flawless.

The breakfast was excellent! A la carte also with a buffet selection. First class breakfast. The hotel is an the best location for exploring the centre of Lisbon. Close to the main square by the sea and also in good proximity to Barrio Alto which is a lively nightlife district. Very good for access to transport to all sides of the city. All the top boutiques are on this avenue and also some great restaurants.

The only disappointing part is that there a lots of homeless people nearby. Very sad. Among all the opulence of Avenue de Liberdade to find such a dramatic contrast with so many homeless people sleeping outside 5 star hotels.
