The room was large and well furnished with antiques. The bed was very large and comfortable. There was the use of a mini bar and nespresso coffee machine. The wardrobe was plenty big enough for the two us for our four night stay. Ten coat hangers and ample drawer space in the room. Large, very powerful shower. Bath robes and slippers provided and the towels were changed daily. We were overlooking the rear of the property onto the street. There were three large windows, with shutters, blackout curtains and thinner curtains, so plenty of privacy. Breakfast was buffet style but there was the option of having omelettes or fried eggs cooked to order. Plenty of choice and good quality ingredients. The hotel also managed the kiosk located in the park opposite. A lovely place to sit outside, even in December! Staff were friendly and helpful; looked after our luggage after we arrived early. The hotel was in a good district very close to public transport and within walking district to the centre of the city.

Alegria Hotel is a really really lovely hotel, the personal touch is everywhere, from excellent helpful staff, spotless clean rooms, brilliant location, great beds, lovely decor, excellent food, and the garden view rooms well worth booking, superb hotel to stay in to see Lisbon and would definately recommend to everyone to stay here!

Nothing everything was perfect!

The Alegria hotel was a delight. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the property was immaculately clean. The location was fantastic, close to all major sites, but just a step away from the chaos of the city.

The only improvement I would make would be the comfort of the bed. Our bed was incredibly firm and we normally enjoy a firm mattress. But this was quite remarkable.

Loved everything about Hotel Alegria. Location was fantastic! Walking distance to major attractions and to trams. The room was a great size for a couple. Very clean and had most things we needed, and staff were very helpful if we needed anything else. Bed was super comfy and loved the view out our window and how the window could be opened. Air conditioning was great on the hot summer days. Blockout blinds were also fantastic for the sleep ins after long flights. Loved all the little details like the coaster with a hand painted picture of the hotel.

An exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel is beautiful and located in a small square right behind Avenida de Libderdade. The staff was very polite and the attention to detail was amazing. I arrived a night before my birthday and tomorrow, on the day of my birthday I was up early exploring the city. When I returned to the hotel, the staff had left cake and a birthday note in my room. I was beyond impressed by this gesture. The rooms were beautiful and clean, and the bed super comfortable. I'm not sure when I'll be back in Lisbon, but I'm sure of where I'll stay if I do.

We loved this hotel! It’s very central, we walked everywhere. The room was a good size and very quiet, there was no noise at night. The shower was great too, with a strong flow of hot water. The bathroom cosmetics were of high quality and smelled amazing. The breakfast was delicious; there were plenty of options and the food quality was also excellent. For example, the ham was delicious, and you could tell because it ran out quickly. There were also eggs, vegetables, all kinds of desserts... The breakfast room was very pleasant too, very calm and beautiful. But the best part was the hotel staff, who were super friendly and kind. I hope they are paid a decent salary for their work.

Excellent location and really good breakfast buffet! Beautiful decor in the breakfast rooms. Beds were comfortable and we had top floor views of the castle.

The small lobby/check in area is in desperate need of renovation and upgrades, and does not match the more upscale decor in the rest of the hotel or the beautiful exterior. The check in person was doing double duty as a concierge so we had to wait awhile to check in. They also didn't have enough room keys so we had to share one. The rooms and bathrooms were quite nice but the walls were very thin - we could hear every move our neighbors made.

Loved the location across from the park with the kiosk with drinks, snacks and live music some evenings. Beautiful view from the large window. Quiet area, but still close to many things. Room was cute with period furniture, small frig and coffee maker. Beds really comfy. Staff extremely helpful with booking restaurant reservations and taxi.

Our room was on the small side, and we had to rearrange furniture to make it work for us. But it did work. You can pay more to get a bigger room, as my brother did, and it was amazing.

Rather old-fashioned hotel with a nostalgic ambience. Staff friendly and helpful. Our room was a bit tight though with all necessary provisions. The bathroom was the only "normal" one we encountered during our 2-week travel in Portugal: basically no water leakage from the shower compartment, exhaust fan working well hence no water condensation on any surface and whole bathroom remained dry after a hot shower, hooks and a nice stand available to hang towels.

Didn't understand why there was a sudden rise in floor level at the end of the short corridor after entering the room. This could pose risk to someone who didn't pay attention.

The location of the hotel was perfect for us. In a very nice, quiet part of the city and yet just a short walk to Rossio Square, the old town and many sights. If you're into it, the high-end shopping was central to the area (we weren't) but regardless of where you found yourself in the city, it you were tired of the hill climbing, a 4 Euro Bolt ride delivered you back home. The restaurant/bar area in the parkette opposite the hotel was wonderful. Occasional live music and a great spot to relax at the beginning or end of the day. The staff was great and those who worked the front desk were especially friendly and helpful.

Breakfast not included - which we knew. But the coffee pods in the room were not always easy to come by.
