We enjoyed a wonderful stay here for a few days in December. The staff are exceptionally helpful, speak great English and have an excellent knowledge of the local area. The hotel is tasteful and cleaned every day to a high standard with extras in our suite room such as a coffee machine, water and bathrobes. Bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast had a good selection of cereals, breads, meat, cheese, fruit and pastries. Eggs are also offered, cooked to your taste each day. The interior of the whole building is so interesting and I loved the Christmas decorations and artefacts on display.

I would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay in Lisbon unless you had mobility issues in which case the stairs inside and position on a hill may prove challenging.

The location was fantastic - could walk just about everywhere and if I couldn’t the train/metro station was a 6 minute walk. It was extremely comfortable and the staff were very friendly and went above and being to help with any issues. My room was ready before the official check in time and I was able to have right away. And they carried the bags to and from my room. Definitely recommend!!!

Absolutely loved our stay at this small authentic hotel. The location, breakfast and size of our suite were amazing! We were on the back street and there was no noise. The staff were wonderful and obliging. We cannot wait to go back.

The bed was too hard for us, any longer than 2nts and we would have struggled. The shower cubicle was small and difficult to enter/exit.

The staff everyone was extremely friendly attentive helpful and the interiors were in keeping with the age of the building and breakfast was excellent

My room was on ground floor which meant big double doors faced the street so wasn’t very good to open double doors

We stayed in a smaller room in the basement on the first night of our stay, it opened directly onto a road which didn’t feel relaxing and it was extremely noisy, the staff moved us without hesitation for the remainder of our stay and we really appreciated it

Goncalho (hope that I got the spelling right!) and Shameer were so helpful - advising me on good restaurants, providing maps of the immediate area, activities. The location is ideal to explore central Lisbon and close to the railway and river to explore further afield. Breakfast is brilliant with fresh fruit, eggs (in whatever way you want). Lots of choice. My room was large, comfortable bed, cleaned every day (I was there for 4 nights). I will certainly stay here again when I am next in Lisbon.

The only downside for me was that there was no fridge in the room. However, I am sure that I could have used the kitchen fridge had I asked. People should also note that although of no consequence to me, there is no lift to the upper floors.

The room was spotless, very comfortable bed, great shower pressure plenty of hot water and lovely toiletries. As the temps outside were 97-104 degrees, A/C was critical and it kept the room very comfortable. Included breakfast was wonderful, with an attentive staff who also make omelets to order. Claudia pays close attention to detail, which no doubt accounts for how impeccable the property is. Loved “By the Wine” on backstreet Ruas das Flores with great atmosphere, food, wine variety and just steps from our room. On a busy street, but didn’t find it noisy. Ideal location with short walk to the river, train station, Pink Street and Rossio Square. Secured building and in an area that felt very safe to us. We were with a larger group that stayed at a more expensive hotel and after seeing their property we were so happy we chose Alecrim.

The staff never made it seem bothersome, but instead of having them take time out of their busy schedule to fill water bottles, it would be nice to have a filtered water station where we could have poured our own water. It was 95+ degrees outside during our stay and one morning we left before the staff arrived so were not able to fill our bottles.

Unfortunately the air conditioner in my room went out right before I arrived and it was very warm weather. The staff had put 4 or 5 fans in my room before I arrived to try as best as they could to cool room down. As I was only there in evenings for the most part, and the evenings cooled down, it was OK but not great for sleeping until early morning. They tried to find another room for me but they were booked. I think I should have been offered a discount of some kind, maybe for a future stay as this is a great place to stay!

This is a lovely hotel in the Chiado district. We were greeted, on arrival, by two friendly members of staff. Our room was available even though we had arrived ahead of check-in. The hotel was once a house and has a quirky feel to it, with stone staircases and walls. The check-in staff gave us a map of the area and offered advice about what to visit. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh fruit, charcuterie, pastries and eggs cooked to order by lovely staff. The hotel is in an ideal location, close to the river and to Baixa-Chiado metro station. I’d definitely recommend this hotel.

The bed was too hard for me (a minor problem) and the street outside was very noisy at night.

This is a unique boutique hotel. The staff are so attentive and helpful. They go above and beyond to make your stay wonderful. The breakfast is outstanding. You are served Fresh fruit, yogurt and choice of eggs at your table along with a lovely buffet. We felt a bit like we were living in a castle. And we were the King & Queen. It was a wonderful stay. There is no fridge in the room but you can get ice. They also gave us an ice pack to keep our bottle of wine cold. The idea is you are not sitting in your room but out enjoying Lisbon!
