One of our favourite hotels of the trip. The decor is simply amazing and stunning. Every room was different and we loved ours! The view was unreal! We could stand with the doors open looking into the square. It was so perfectly placed right near Pasta del nata bakeries, near Il Tivo and Taberna Da Flores, our favourite restaurant. The hotel staff were so meticulous especially Beny who checked us in and looked after us during our stay. It is so central and the perfect space for couples. Definitely will stay again.

very good location, closer metro station about 5/10 minutes walk. Trams are on the doorstep. Hotel is very nicely decorated very grand. It was more apartment style hotel didn't have a big lounge area but adequate. Breakfast was amazing, cooked food and fresh fruits, I have to say it was not the average continental breakfast you get in many other hotels. Bed was comfortable and with a balcony view.

Unfortunately the attach bathroom was very small for a standard double bedroom and was bit disappointing as we were staying there for 3 nights, the sink was a tiny wholeway sink. They should have mentioned that in the room description. They should have mentioned the room type at least small double bedroom. Also the location of this area has music and a buzz till late night so it is not very quiet at night to sleep. If you like the going out at night it is very good, but if you want quite night sleep not the best areas. For us it didn't matter.

I stayed in a double room with square view and it was excellent. Generous in size, beautiful view of the square right at your doorstep. Bed and all four pillows were comfortable. A wardrobe for hanging clothes and a desk. The bathroom was clean and very large, with body wash/shampoo/conditioner. Breakfast was great, everything you could need. Scrambled/boiled eggs, toast/breads, pastries (croissants etc.) as well as veggies, salads, cheese/deli meats, and fruit. Coffee and tea too. Reception is generous with providing as much bottled water as you need, so be sure to ask anytime you come in and out of the hotel. Staff are friendly. Very handy having a lift for when moving luggage during check-in and check-out. Heaps of fresh towels provided as needed. Best part about this hotel is the brilliant location! Right outside Largo do Chiado, a bustling square where many walking tours begin and a tram stop for the 28 Tram. Incredible restaurants, coffee shops, bars, etc. are steps away. Shopping as well. I could easily have stayed here another week! Highly recommend.

I really can't think of anything significant! Sound proofing from the square (if you are facing it) is excellent, but you may still hear the occasional noise on Friday and Saturday nights (everyone goes to Bairro Alto to party). Some stomping from the floor above but could depend on the guest. And lastly, the bathroom smells a little funny at times, but never really bothered me.

The entrance wasn’t that appealing at first but once upstairs it was very nice

Extremely professional and helpful staff (Maria Clara) checked us in although we were several hours before check in-time. They also upgraded us to a beautiful room. The breakfast is excellent, plentiful, tasty and fresh . Fantastic hotel in a perfect location!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel – everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. The location is excellent, and the service exceeded expectations. I must give special praise to Maria, who truly made my experience exceptional. Her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail stood out from the moment I arrived. She went above and beyond in every interaction, always with a genuine smile and a sincere willingness to help. Frankly, if there’s anyone who deserves to be managing this hotel, it’s Maria. Her natural leadership, grace, and commitment to guest satisfaction reflect the highest standards of hospitality. I hope the management recognizes what an asset they have in her. Looking forward to returning!

When we got there the entrance was not looking nice like the rest of the building But we find out that entrance was getting fix . When we left it was looking much better. Understandable

Front desk staff was tremendous throughout our visit; the highlight of this facility to visiting travelers. The breakfast was above the average European offerings with a great variety and VERY hard working ladies making diligent efforts to keep the food offerings stocked and the tables cleaned. They too represented this facility extremely well. The hotel location was outstanding both for local and regional explorations. The elevator was a very nice amenity.

The entry foyer was quite dirty and very unbecoming of your hotel; a terrible first impression. The Wi-Fi signal could be marginal at times.

I stayed in 3 different rooms and all were nice in different ways. The twin room was spacey but with no view. The room with the balcony and the square view was with a beautiful view but a bit noisy - which I didn't mind that much. And the room with the river view was with the best view, quiet, but with a smaller bathroom. In any case, the bathroom was good in all of the rooms I stayed.. The breakfast had a lot of variety- only the taste of coffee can be improved. Location is excellent- reception works very well, very friendly staff- Thank you!

We had a really lovely stay at Solar dos Poetas! The hotel is charming and well-located, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always ready to help with a smile and great local tips. A definite highlight was the delicious breakfast, which was not only fresh and varied but also accompanied by live piano music — such a beautiful and relaxing way to start the day. The only small downside was that it can get a bit noisy due to street traffic, especially at night. We recommend bringing ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. Overall, a great experience — we’d happily stay here again and definitely recommend it!
