I liked this place, super central, nice retro decor, my room had great city views. The staff were very kind and helpful

Minor things prevent me from giving top ratings: the doors to the hallway are not soundproof at all, you hear all kind of noise, as if it were in your own room: other people talking, slamming doors, room service cleaning. Without earplugs my sleep would have been majorly disrupted. Some other issues: wifi v slow, construction work in the room next door, lack of flexibility at check out (not even 30 extra mins granted, but I had to pay 20€ extra).

This fairly new hotel is located right on Praca Luis de Camoes, an historic square in an ideal location right on the border of Bairro Alto & Chiado neighborhoods. There are scores of restaurants, pasteries, bars and beautiful churches right at your fingertips. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. The older building has a lift and air conditioning. We stayed in room 35 on the 3rd floor with a great view overlooking the square.

We certainly enjoyed our stay at Le Consulat and would strongly consider staying there again if we return to Lisbon. However I need to point out a couple things for other travelers: This is an older building and they've tried to maintain the historic integrity by keeping original doors and flooring. There was a noticeable 1/2" gap on the front door, so you could hear everything out in the hallway. For some reason they chose very minimal lighting and the bathroom had three 10 watt bulbs which didn't provide much light at all. The tub has about a 2' barrier to climb over and it can get slippery with no handrails.

Fab front desk staff were so nice, friendly and helpful with suggestions & directions. Plus,so kind when I added xtra night . Deb was super fantastic as managed to add room 4 nights. I would highly suggest hotel as nic room & location.

Few issues with housekeeping, but not major so just comment for future guests. Leave water if empty bottle when 4 nights stay, add extra roll toilet paper as ran out. I sent message & quickly got one roll at door lotion container as empty entire stay, but no big deal so did not ask to refill it. Thanks for lovely room & Lisbon stay.

The staff were lovely but upon checking in it was 2.15pm and we were told that our room was not ready as check in was 3pm. Myself and my husband said we would just leave our bags and come back and check in later, the receptionist said it was an extra €20 if we wanted to check in early we said no thanks we would wait. Then the porter came to take our bags to our room, which he said was ready, the receptionist then said oh yes its ready you can check in now for no extra fee. It just felt like they were trying to get the extra €20 from us and when we said we would wait.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Perfect location. We were able to walk everywhere in Lisbon. Our room looked out on to the courtyard which was a bonus. Breakfast was delicious. A special mention to Deb on the front desk. He was so helpful and informative with recommendations of places to eat etc and always had time for a chat. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon.

Breakfast service was incredibly slow. This was fine on 2 mornings when we were happy to have a slow paced and relaxed morning, but would recommend people allowing an hour for breakfast if they have to be somewhere. (We had a timed ticket for Sintra one morning)

The hotel is very conveniently located. We had a budget room but it was huge, with a large bed. The staff were wonderful, particular Zaman who served us breakfast, he was so friendly and provided great service with our complicated breakfast orders. The guys on reception were also very friendly and provided great service. I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I come back to Lisbon. The breakfast was amazing , the granola in particular which was home made was one of the best items of food I’ve ever eaten for breakfast l.

The room was exceptional. The staff were over the top in trying to help with anything we needed. The breakfast was large and in a really cute area with a great view. The bar was always open as well. The location was right in the middle of everything and the trolly stop was right out front. Many bakeries and places to eat were close by. The rooms had robes and slippers and a coffee machine. We stayed in a suite with a bedroom and sitting area. It was lovely. The bathroom was very large. We were extremely pleased.

The location is excellent. Our walking tour started in the square just outside the hotel. There is a tram stop just outside the door. We were travelling with our adult sons and found the 2 bedroom apartment very spacious. It felt like a home. It is beautifully furnished.

I wish they would change one of the rooms in the 2 bedroom apartment to have the choice of twin beds or a Queen Bed. Guests who are travelling with adult children would much appreciate this change. One son opted to sleep on the couch as a roll away bed would have been too small and an additional cost. Despite the description on the booking.com site saying the apartment has a sofa bed - it is not a sofa bed as such - it is couch. Luckily the couch is long and was pretty comfy. The roll away beds are not comfy for adult men!

The staff was terrific. The manager that came on later in the day was one of the best I have ever dealt with. He had exceptional people skills. The others were also really very good, and very accomidating, which in your industry is becoming more rare, that is,... when everyone is exceptional. Breakfast was very good. Accomidations were above expectation, and location was ideal.

We were not used to the level of activity and noise late at night, so needed to use the A C, due to needing to keep the windows closed. Certainly not the Hotels' fault. You ask,... and we happily suffered thru that very minor issue.

The location was great! Our balcony overlooked the square and we enjoyed the live entertainment every night. The market stalls were also very good. It was also walkable to great restaurants and shopping.

There were no umbrellas in the room closets and when we requested an umbrella at front desk they were all out. My impression was they did not have umbrellas to match rooms. Considering the cost for the room I would recommend you have umbrellas in each room closet for the room’s guest to use if required. Although there is nothing that can be done it was noisy when other guests arrived, departed and you could hear people walking above us as they had their shoes on. During the day would not be a problem but after midnight it did wake and keep us up.
